I got a handmade vintage ammo from the strapsmith (US), not cheap but very good quality and service. Indeed I ordered another one from him ! Dont know if he does alligator though...

Looks nice too ! I didn't know that strap maker, but they seem to handcraft nice straps. I'll have to consider it for my next strap ! Personnaly I'm waiting for another vintage strap from the strapsmith (for my incoming 288k), amazing quality too

So I got a 318L by reading this amazing forum and when I received it I thought it needed a proper strap. I first bought a black, croc style strap from panatime. It's ok but not amazing and it looks pretty classic on this watch. Then I started to look for vintage straps and I considered buying a swiss army from straptimus (a member posted a topic not that long ago about his straptimus strap). The quality of this straps seems amazing and I'll probably buy one from them in the future. And from blog to blog I finally landed on a fantastic website "the strapsmith". So I chose a vintage V2 and since the order it has been 4 weeks exactly (straps are handmade upon request, so you can choose anything you want, but you have to wait a little ^^). This is a real vintage leather since it's from ammo pouch of WW1 and the smell and feel are just incredible. I'll let the pictures do the talking (pardon my poor photographic skills...). P.S : I tried it on my brand new 26K, but I'm not fully convinced, what do you think ? any ideas for a combo ?

From what I've read it is exactly the same watch. The only difference is the caseback... I've ordered one from Josh a week ago (shipment on March 2nd). I'll post some pics as soon as I get it...

This watch is stunning ! Its probably the next watch I'm gonna buy and I was wondering what made you choose the V2 over the V1 (to me the only difference is the double AR coating and PVD of the case) ? Is this worth tha 100$ more ?
