  1. yes, tried that but doesnt look like he has been on the site since early April.
  2. i too would like more information on using Jensen for a custom order. I am looking for Sigma dials and it doesnt appear anyone makes them. If anyone knows a cource for these, please let me know!
  3. some others were discussing TheSociety. the OP posted a few pictures of his watch built by TS; one was the OP's pictures, the other appeared to have the hallmarks of being TS's picture. Is it me to does TS's picture look significantly altered? The ROC and subdial print in TS's picture looks much more crisp than it does in OP's picture. Not trying to flame anyone's watch here. if im way off base, feel free to let me know!
  4. Good information. Thanks guys. Does anyone know if Ruby's cases are the same as Phong's?
  5. Has anyone compared the 626x cases to Phong's cases?
  6. It seems the consensus is MQ has the best Daytona dials. Obviously nothing will be as good as gen, but his dials leave a lot to be desired, imo. At least from his pictures on his site. I'm really after a non-Big Red Sigma panda dial for a 6265 build but it just doesnt seem anyone is making these. The pictures of his Big Red panda dials, again based on pictures on his site, seem to run the risk of having non-centered print. I couldnt live with that and seems like a big risk to take when paying the high prices he asks. Not to mention the fact that the "DAYTONA" print is not bold and embossed as it is on a gen and it's distance from the 6 o'clock subdial isnt right. Again, I dont need 100% perfect but the text, its positioning, and the crown are paramount on these dials. Am I mistaken that MQ has the best dials? Should I be looking elsewhere?
  7. He seems like a fairly stand up guy to me. Granted, I havent purchased anything from him but have spoken to him a few times. From what Ive read he uses Phong parts. His all in prices arent that really high when you take into account what it would cost to purchase the Phong parts, source a V72, and then have a watchmaker put them together. I'm looking into a 626x build with no gen parts besides the crown and a gen coronet on a Phong dial. TheSociety is probably who I would go to as I like the fact it is a one-stop shop and I know enough about gen Daytonas to be able to QC all the parts he is using. That being said, if not him, who would you recommend for a build given the desire to build something as close to gen as possible without using gen parts?
  8. this dial appears to be a very very high quality late 1675/early 16750 aftermarket dial. has anyone seen this before?
  9. any interest in selling your GMT? im looking to replace a 16750 i sold ~1.5 years ago.
  10. bleach? drain cleaner? im looking for that bright, light red and blue. any suggestions? anyone have pics of theirs and tips on what they did?
  11. i have a 6239 PN for trade/poss for sale in the FS section.
  12. thanks all. i only paid $375 for the watch on here so i have some room to play. any recommended modders on here who could age the dial and install a gen crown and crystal that i would supply them?
  13. yes, the dial isnt the best but my options are quite limited with a 7750, correct?
  14. I bought this 6239 on the forums a few months back and really enjoy. It needs a service bc the dial counters dont reset properly, as you can see. I am thinking it is a good opportunity to mod it a bit. Gen crystal and crown are on the list. The hand lume and dots are very white and I'd love to age them. Any suggestions? What about the bezel? Is there a better bezel out there that will be an easy fit with a gen crystal? Anything else I'm missing? Thanks all!
