  1. Thanks for the explaination on TC, I found him on RG. Are his DWO's better (more correct) than BK's?
  2. Who is TC? I am looking for a date wheel with closed 6's and 9's to replace the one with the open 6's and 9's on my EL 16610.
  3. CONGRATS....that is great news! I love the white lettering and the lume glows like a torch! Can't wait to see it finished!
  4. These 005K's come from the same H-Factory that builds the 177, which has the same movement & same issues. The regulating screw on the swanneck is indeed the culprit. The screw has threads but the swanneck is not threaded on the inside....allowing the screw to fall out. I had this happen to mine this week. If you remove the caseback, you will most likely find the screw bound up in the gears of the movement below the ciruclar spring of the swanneck. I used a small jeweler's screwdriver to move the gears slightly to unbind the screw and remove it. I left the screw out, replaced the caseback and the watch runs perfectly.
  5. W, Thanks for posting this....it really is a beautiful piece.....continue to wear it well!!! When my Fiddy grows up, it wants to be like yours. :D
  6. Pete, Thanks for testing the waters and posting your findings. I saw Orloff's (Mario's) offerings several months ago when I was trying to fill my desire for a JV for my 127. He is indeed a great guy to deal with. I never ended up buying one since I was concerned how the holes were going to be done. Yours look great. It really compliments the 250...and is representative of a gen JV. Wear it well!
  7. I'd like to see how the case dimples look.... The lugs look long enough that perhaps there's no dimple?
  8. Thanks for the links rolli. I actually bought those that you linked to from Panatime and have them in hand. I just wanted input before I put them on my watches. I know that they are used once the lug threads actually strip out....I just don't want to use them before the threads strip and cause damage when I think that I'm preserving the watches.
  9. Beautiful....absolutely beautiful! But Tx....do the Omega's feel left out in the cold now that that PAM's have such up-graded, 1st-class quarters? (Pete, I was watching that box from the sidelines and am glad it went to such an outstanding guy)
  10. Will replacement springbars for the lugs screws damage the threads on the lugs of PAM's? The threads on the lugs of my PAM 111i and 127 are all perfect and I'd like to keep them that way as I anticipate many future strap changes. However, the last things I want to do is to think that I'm saving the threads but in reality be destroying them with the springbars rubbing on them. Any thoughts on this?
  11. Definitely very well done....and containing the perfect amount of great info...I appreciate the level of explaination, detail, and the pros/cons comparisons that you put into this. Thank you for your effort and time.
  12. Definitely glad to hear you are feeling better Pete. I am going to echo what babola said above regarding the polished, rounded surface on the crown facing....I didn't know that is how then gen is. I'll definitely have to see about getting that refreshed on my EL crown Thanks for the outstanding and informative comparison pics.
  13. I like how the case/strap dimple between the lugs is not so pronounced and looks close to the gen. Nice!
  14. The 005 is stunning!...and I love the Jules Verne....wear it well.
  15. d, that 42 franken is absolutely amazing!...especially the transformation process! i've been away for about a year and now come back and see this!....stunning! wear it in good health!
  16. Well, I decided to answer my own questions......I went and got a couple of Gen Omega springbars from my AD for the 45.5 PO. I asked which would be the correct springbar for the metal bracelet and which would be the correct one for my Gen rubber strap, they told me it was the same springbar....from otto frei, it would be the OME-Spring-Bar-05. It fits perfectly and is so much more sturdy than the rep springbars.
  17. do the gen spring bars work on the 45.5 PO? i was on otto frei trying to find the part #'s...... i got confused because it was stating the rubber band used a different spring bar (OME-Spring-Bar-05) versus the metal bracelet spring bar (OME-Spring-Bar-03)....the rep spring bar worked fine with the rep bracelet and the gen rubber band. any suggestions on which part to use?
  18. Wear them well Nanuq......the big balls and the DRSD..... I love the BRIGHT red color on the dial
  19. Does anyone have a source for a accurate Date Wheel with the correct Font for the 16610 Actually, if someone had a dead/broken Noobmariner (Narrikamariner/Trustymariner/etc) that I can obtain, that would even be better ;)
  20. doc, did the 16800 use the same case as the 16610? For some reason, I thought that the rehaut for the 16800 was not as deep as the 16610. I may be wrong but that thought seems stuck in my head. If they indeed share the same case....then I know what my TW Best Classic is going to be used for.
  21. Happy Mutha's day back at ya! Nice piece.....the gen dial looks great! Are you going to do the cg & case mods yourself?
  22. ^^^ +10,000 i have not ordered one yet but read on the darkside that those that have received theirs' are pleased.....you've probably read about it but they state the only difference is that the rep has dust stick to it where the gen doesn't....apparently the gen is made of a different material (pure rubber ?). they also state that the rep strap is very soft. doc, is this true that the gen doesn't have dust stick to it? also, is the gen soft?
  23. i agree.....12 seconds seems to be to short of a revolution period. it looks like mine is the same exact winder that dadeenbob had equally poor experience with. since he also cannot get this model to wind watches either, i will conclude that this winder isn't designed well.....so, i will return mine and get a different one that actually works.
