Just send an email to the owner (toselli@online-schrauben.de). I'm sure you can work something out with her (tell her you don't need insurance - a simple letter will suffice). PS: The screw head is too big (3mm) but they told me they will get a matching (non-DIN) one within the next 2 weeks.

Source for CG Screws: www.online-schrauben.de.
I use DIN 84 A2 M 1,6 x 4 (http://www.online-schrauben.de/cgi-bin/onlineschraubende.storefront/4b862f5c0cb467c0273fc0a8022306b0/Catalog/1574) for my fiddy (cartel case, EL CG). DIN 84 A2 M 1,6 x 3 are also OK.
PS: The screw head needs some work.

Patience is the "KEY"
Or you use something like this. I bought a used one for 45 EUR on ebay (new it's around 70 EUR - good investment - answers all your bench scale sanding needs) and the whole sanding took me about 15 minutes (btw: I used 2 taped pliers to hold the insert - sand a bit, turn clockwise, sand... just as you'd do it manually).

Great work!
I used a band grinder to sand the insert. That worked like a charm.

Oh, sorry to hear that the case had a worn out thread...
Don't worry. No problem at all. There's no business like rep business. I'm loving it . I'm collecting oldtimer tractors so I'm used to tinker around . All I need are the right tools. I just ordered the watch repair set from one of the trusted dealers here.
-
oh my...erm.... :|
I didn't use a sledgehammer. A thread on the case (where the CG sits) was worn out (new watch btw!) and so I cut a new thread. When I then drilled a fitting hole on the CG I used a tiny little to much force and drilled all the way through (= no hold for the screw head anymore). I think I just need a smaller bench drill.

Thanks for your answer Pete! I can't wait to get your EL case . I hope I'll be able to swap the parts (movement, crystal, etc.) without accident. Not like yesterday when I tried to fix the worn out CG-thread on my new fiddy.... But I learned something new: Never use the tools you normally use for your tractor to repair/mod your watch .

Hi!
This question may have been asked before but I used the search function and didn't find anything.
My question: Does an Eddie Lee CG fit on an ultimate fiddy case?
Many thanks
Chris

Hey everyone!
I've been a lurker for a while now, but now I just thought I'd actually introduce myself.
My Name is Chris and I live in Austria/Europe. I just bought a DSSD and a "10-corrected" bezel insert from Mary. I really hope I get it through customs .
Cheers Chris

Nice dresswatch .

Hi everbody!
I'm a newbie and have a newbie question . I noticed that some (not all) DSSD's have a black (laser?) mark next to the gas valve. What is that mark good for? And how come that some have it and some don't?
Many thanks
Chris
