  1. Need some urgent help from Londoners here... Can you guys recommend some nice pre-own watch dealers in London? Please dun point me to Harrods or shops in Knightsbridge... i'm looking for Shops with lots of pre-owned watches that are willing to strike a nice deal :) Pls PM me with details like shop name, address and best if which tube station it might be near :) Thanks!

  2. That's beautiful Cougaree... urrgg... i miss my skyland already... esp how My v2 will look with the V3 black dial.. Sniffles.

Also, in my skyland research, i've read somewhere the blue hue is not exact to gen. Better to stick with black/grey.

  3. hey buddy,

it is a huge improvement putting a gen strap to that watch imo !!! the gen strap is way softer !!! about the buckle: you should change that as well. the gen buckle looks completely different. more steelish than titan...

I've honestly never felt the gen kevlar but the strap i got from watchboys is buttery soft, kevlar styled with i believe either white/black stichings.. goes great with the watch IMO!

  4. I've not seen too many members of the fairer sex here nor seen reviews for women watches. Here is a watch i got for a friend who sent me a photo. My dealer (King) scoured i suppose all the factories in Guangzhou and finally found what i would say is 90% identical, i will cover the 5% right at the bottom. Being a quartz like the gen, i did not bother to open the case to check the movement. Here's a shot of the watch.

    Details taken from Cartier site.

Steel case, crown in steel set with a blue faceted synthetic spinel,

    sapphire crystal,

    silver grained dial,

    Roman numerals,

    sword-shaped blued-steel hands,

    steel bracelet,

    quartz movement

    Cartier caliber 157,

water resistant to 30 meters / 100 feet.

Case dimensions: 34.8x26.2 mm, 6 mm thick.

Gen - 5% deducted for the wrong crown size.

More on the bracelet and clasp

Here's one reason why its -5%, the cartier logo most likely a one-off factory defect since they got the other engraving spot on.

The only other fault i spotted after close scrutiny are the spacings between the screws on the caseback. On the rep they are grouped at corners, on the gen they have equal spacing.

Other comments are the rep bracelet is one of the toughest to adjust i've ever encountered, i believe they tried to copy the gen and have not done too good a job. Screws on the bracelet are pasted on only for decoration, not sure about the gen whether its pasted or screwed in. Other than that, naturally the watch keeps good time and is really a joy to wear according to the owner :)

Hope you've enjoyed this mini review!

  5. He wants a black bezel.. Think you very likely have the wrong contact addresses because these dealers handle tons of orders daily and there's no reason all of them chose to ignore your email. Their emails are available at the dealer's corner or their individual website. Do come back with photos when you get your watch! The black bezel orange numbers UPO tickles my heart.... just not strong enough yet :)

  6. IMHO, comments or queries shielded by disclaimers or used with implied doubt do still affect the person intended. I liken it to telling someone his watch in a FS thread is a canal crap but that's just my humble opinion and should be taken lightly.

Left for the board to decide. Member has found his answer so leave to rest shall we?

  7. Hi guys,

Found this online and it looks different from the current Breitling gen crocodile straps for deployant. The current ones i see have the inscriptions printed, this one in the pic is embossed and there are no size numbers (20-18) on the lug ends like the current ones now. Does anyone know or have a gen croc strap with similar markings? I believe this might be a previous version of Gen breitling croc strap. Found it at a good price and want to be sure its good.

  8. Ouch..

You can choose to pay a fraction of what you wildly suggested The Zigmeister charges, send it to some local watchsmith and have them screw it up worse.. then finally coming back to someone who knows his stuff... First its a rep, gd luck with finding anyone who will svc it for ya, next perhaps you should have PMed The Zigmeister and asked if he could give an estimate of the costs first before shooting your mouth off here... Not a reprimand, just a suggestion.

And oh yah, good luck with finding someone
