Victoria,

How unoriginal of me I know...

Great to see it back in your hands Nanuq!
Now all your line-up is lacking is a 1655

Hi guys,
Seeking advice for first MBK mod, which is the 1665 SD.
Found two links on the bay:
1. http://stores.ebay.com/Clark-Watch-Parts
2. http://stores.ebay.com/Florida-Watch-and-Jewelers-Supply
Sorry, can't seems to get the direct link working. Mods please delete if this is unappropriate.
Both looks pretty similar. Is there any experience with any of these? Much appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance guys!
I hear both are nice, but the guy at Florida WaJS is a jerk to deal with and often ships the wrong items. Clark's ships fast and is always a pleasure to deal with.

Check out ebay item #180160142598, it's more accurate than mine TJ and comes with an ETA in it.

I think my Cali Mini-Fiddy needs a little more wrist time this weekend.

Perfect!!
But the first forum thread my eyes scroll to says, "Yuck, fake Vietnamese IWC being peddled from US now".
Fleecebay Item: 230173925943
So, they're not rep watch friendly...still, great find, TMG! Gold star for you!
Yup, they're not too rep friendly but a great source of info.

Solver the T39 problem,
I ordered one jet. :cc_surrender:
Now I'm thinking to replace the tube and the crown in MBW1665.
I find this action :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=330167996307
Do you think are GEN or copy?
thank you.
Rep for sure, the tube is not beveled either where it meets the case.
Try Jewelerstools on the Bay, he sells 7030 crowns in singles or multiples. Clarks or Raymondleejeweler have very excellent aftermarket tubes that work fine.

Rosnik,
I can't find my pix of a flat T39 compared to the superdome, but here is the flat version vs. the superdome of a T19. The Tropic 39 variations will be very similar in appearence, although the flat dome T39 is just as tall as the superdome.
There are no other reference numbers than Tropic 39 that I know of, you'll have to ask when shopping around if it's a superdome or flat dome.
-
Well, the tropic for your 1665 should be a T39.
There are flats (around 80 to 100$) and super domes (no quote here as it's a matter of luck but mine was 250$)
Ah, you beat me to it Stephane

Today- my fantasy California mini-fiddy (inspired by TK471) on a TWB honey gator. I'm really lovin' this!
Thanks again to Vaccum for putting this beauty together.

about extra mods..........
Do this gen plexy fit in MBW 1665??
Is it correct?
Thank you for your kind help guys!
Rosnik,
The correct crystal would be a Tropic 39 (much debate as to a flat or domed style being original the the White SD), but this should fit as well but the T19 crytal is not as tall as a T39 and the bezel the 1665 is thicker than a sub.
Here is a comparison shot between the T19 and T39 superdome versions as well as the bezel height to give you a better idea.
-
Rep,
Nice combo and indeed a strap makes a huge difference.
Funny isn't it that many straps cost more than the watch its going on
-
Actually, the metal 'washer' normally found beneath the bezel on the 1665 (both gen and MBW) IS a spring. It should have a slight bend in it. The amount of bend controls the tension on the bezel -- the flatter the spring, the easier the bezel turns, the more bend in the spring, the tighter the bezel is to turn.
Your 1665 MBW should have the flat spring below the bezel. If it is missing, I would contact the person you bought the watch from.
Thanks for the correction Freddy, that certainly makes sense.
I thought Rosnik was referring to the retaining wire under bezels on CN subs.

Nice Laz!
-
Great idea and it's well deserved, congrats Jiro!
-
Rosnik,
There is no spring but usually a metal washer that helps the bezel turn easier, but it is fine without it too.
