  1. My original post was a year ago so you are correct about finepics, he's not working as far as i know. I have the correct caseback for the pam40 exept for the number of watches made stamped on back. The gen pam40 were up to 200 and my caseback goes to 3000. Thats the only thing on the watch besides the little lines where it says T-dial-T that an pam expert could say is diffrent from the gen "as far as looks anyway"

    Thanks, Wan

  2. I agree!!!!!!! I had to go to Mark (finepics) to get my perfect T-dial and it was not cheap.

I had Mark build me a spot on perfect pam40 rep, it has all the mods needed to be the best rep in my collection. If someone can somehow get Mark's opinion on this, im sure he would be of great help to this project. "if anyone takes it on" and i really hope someone does.......

Also, if intrested.......I will be posting the pam40 for sale here on the forum soon....so, heads up

    Cheers, Wan

  3. I have a dead on perfect pam40 i had Mark (Finepics) make for me a while back that i am considering selling ONLY if he is currently taking work.

Can anyone tell me if he has been working lately? I know what his status was 6 months ago, (taking it easy and not taking any new work but i have not heard as of late)

    I would appreciate any info.

If he is not active and not taking any new work on, there is no chance in hell i would sell my pam40, but if he is..... i will post it for sale to fund my next finepics beauty. Thanks, Wan

  4. Thanks for the replies, Red and ZD. :)

I have loved it ever since I saw it somewhere else -- even before the one worn by b12a6, with vanilla Bob strap, which I loved so much I got two straps.

Davidsen had one C3 model which looked like the Hulk.

    Guys like lume, you see.

One of the RWI members posted a pic of a GEN 005, and clearly you see the markers shouldn't be this green.

Now that you mention it, ZainoDetail, either it's a lighting problem or you're bang on. Thanks!

My rep 005 which has a custom dial done by Mark (finepics) looks just like the genuine one in the pic above. That OP logo on the gen looks just like the one on mine. To me the Davidsen 005 OP logo looks more like the logo he used on his 5218-201A. The logo seems more like he tried to make it look the way they did it back in the preV days. Also, the word Panerai seems to be further away from the cannon pinion on Davidsen's 005 than the gen does, thats might be the reason why the logo's looking diffrent to me. "an optical illusion" Either way Davidsen's 005 is an amazing rep, its so close to a gen that only freaks like us would ever spend this much time comparing reps to reps and reps to gens......LOL Thank you all for helping my day go by faster and more intresting with your great posts and pics. Cheers, Wan

  5. Well i took the watch to my local watch guy that i have used for many rep mods and repairs and he could not manage to get the 7750 movement & face out of the case from the back to fix the prob. The movement & face were fit soo tight in the case that he felt that it would break trying to remove it. He also tried to go in from the top, "bezel & crystal" but it would not budge. So, i have sent it back to Angus. He said that he would replace it for a new one. "He's a good guy" When i get a new one i will post my thoughts on how this one is. I am thinking of buying a swiss valjou 7750 to put in the new one to get rid of the jittery second hand. "if the new one jitters" (Also, i noticed on the gen watch there is the name Chopard written on the automatic spinning weight in addidion to what the reps say along the edge......................Cheers, Wan

  6. First of all.. "Fantastic post on the Chopard Mille Migilia gran tourismo XL w/7750" The problem i am having is, the movement and face are weged soo tight inside the case, i cant seem to get them out without feeling like i am going to break something in the process. "Did you have this problem?" If so, how did you manage to get them out of the case safely?............ Thanks, Wan

  7. Boy was I excited when the postman delivered my long anticipated Chopard Mille Miglia GT XL. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Felt like a four-year old receiving his early morning birthday present, unwrapping it like an idiot to find a , euh... well... let's see... Hucking Fell, I've been scammed for the first time from a resputable dealer here on the board aaaarrrgghhhh :black_eye:

That indeed was my first thought when opening the parcel, and on second sight, I wasn't scammed at all, King found a revolutionary way of cheating customs, let's put it that way. Members who have bought recently from King probably found the same item in the EMS bag... I'm not gonna spoil the surprise :whistling: :whistling:

Anyway, after unpacking and facing the smell of vanilla it was about time for a closer inspection, and it does look like a US$ 3K watch in person, the AR coating is one of the best I have seen in a while (I don't own the Big Bang or the latest Breitling reps, so my reference is the 4th gen PO.)

it feels solid, heavy and even the strap is reasonable with a very good deployant clasp. thumps up ! Even the 'sticker' on the rotor looks better in person, the images on the dealers' websites are no reference.

So, why do I think it's not worth the $300... indeed , the movement... I know, I should know better after all these long posts about Asian 7750's and reliability and such, but hey, I still own a 2 year old PAM50 from Eddie, same engine, no chrono function and still running strong, so what the heck, give it a try since there is no chrono function on the Chopard either..

I woke up this morning finding it was 20.5 of April.. aperantly the changing of the date was a bit too stressfull during my midnight nap, and today, while looking at it, the jerky seconds hand bothers me even more. Some of you with the IWC Portu's out there know how jerky a seconds hand can be, this is worse, far more worse.. :wounded1:

I guess I'll grab a swiss 7750 off Ebay and replace the Asian so it'll make me feel better

All in all, overall quality is good, movement is an area for improvement but that's no news so let's end with a wristshot

    Enjoy your weekend :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I have the same problem with the jerky second hand, it really bugged me until the watch hands went totally limp. Now that REALLY bugs me. I do not think these were made very well, i have the older version also with the Asian 21J and it's movement is solid as a rock. I wish the ultimate version worked as good as it looks..............Wan

  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/GRIDIRON-GANG-SEAN-JOH...1QQcmdZViewItem Check out this scammer trying to pass off this really bad fake as a real movie prop watch. You would think they would have The Rock wear the real thing or at least a good copy.I have seen pics of him wearing a real Panerai so, what do you think? I think the seller has found an angle to rip people off. And it seems to be working..............I hate scammers!!!!!!!................Wan
  9. Someone really needs to inform ebay about this listing ( 130095779411 ) Read what he says about being carefull to look out for scammers selling reps. Then look at his pics..........SCAMMER!!!

Or you can go directly to the page- http://cgi.ebay.com/Panerai-PAM-177_W0QQit...1QQcmdZViewItem

I have been trying to report this at ebay but it will not let me finish. If anyone else can try im sure the $1900 bidder would appreciate it..........Cheers, Wan

  10. The best album ever, and it got very little recognition:

    226447-13118.jpg

I really like Chris Cornell and think his solo album is great but Soundgarden was one of the best rock bands ever. I remember when i first listened to the album "Bad motor finger" I lost my [censored], and have never been the same since............cheers, Wan
