  1. Yes, also had mine serviced by Zig and he did a perfect job as well!
  2. I don't think so...I have this from Andrew and am very happy with it, one of the greatest reps out there.
  3. sorry guys...just confirming is this the watch everyone is referring to: http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=30_191&products_id=7963 Is is listed with the wrong model number?
  4. Thanks guys - after a quick search have found this: https://secure.eta.ch/CSP/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=2&tabid=28 Picked Product Range: Mecaline Then Calibre: 6497-1 which looks like everything any one would need to do a normal service.... what I also wanted to know was; what is the most common thing that prevents the 6497 movement from lasting a few years without any hiccup?
  5. I want to take my 2 new reps to get serviced one of which is the 390 - But wanted to know if there was anything I should be telling my watch guy. I have read that you should be specific about what should be done to them - or what should be checked, making sure not to over oil...things like that. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated
  6. OFFICINE PANERAI Florence Piazza S. Giovanni, 16R (Palazzo Arcivescovile) 50129 Florence Italy It was actually 140 euro, so less than 180AUD, a little more in USD
  7. This was strange.... Recently I posted a reply on a post asking about how best to get the original Assolutamente strap as fitted to the gen 390... Everyone said just rock up to an AD. So...I asked my local AD in Australia and they said lead time was 8 weeks! and the price was $240 + shipping, so I went to the official panerai website and gathered every single email for each AD in the world, sent a BCC email off to them all - most replied and every response was different - some said they couldn't ship out of their country and some said similar things about lead times longer than 8 weeks... What I found weird was the price range for the strap from the AD's - from 180 to 300+ USD (for the exact same strap) I ended up having the strap shipped express through DHL the next day for $180 and it arrived in 5 days! (oh and they didn't even charge me for shipping) Simple and effective... I wonder if I would get the same response for original parts*! (*wishful thinking)
  8. excuse my naive question - will that ruin the watch - continually winding it all the way to the end I mean?
  9. Hi guys, I am trying to track down the original strap for the 390, I have been in touch with the AD's in Australia - and they say they won't sell it to me unless they see the watch, nor will they ship it to me. And delivery time is 8 weeks... So I decided to email other AD's around the world and they all give me one reason or another for not being able to sell it to me...seems weird Does anyone know how to get this strap? Or any AD's that would ship it? Cheers
  10. I have also purchased from Toshi (rich) and was very happy with the quality...but If you have time you can probably find the exact design you are looking from from this list of strap makers: www[dot]strapaholics[dot]com/strapmaker-directory/
  11. Just attaching some pics of the 177 I bought from Andrew - I also fitted it with a custom strap I bought from the UK. The Lume on this is much better than previous reps I have bought - glows bright at night
  12. Hi Folks, I purchased this Grand Carrera about 9 months ago - was very happy until recently the hours and minutes hand became out of alignment. Sorry I am not very active in this forum and am not sure about the rules exactly...but if anyone wants to make an offer for this watch as a side project to tinker with just let me know and it is yours... (shipping would be from Australia)- There are a few scuff marks on the watch, nothing major and the chronometer works fine Cheers
