  1. Congrats Nik, you are the first man to ever get me this close to orgasm! LOL!!!!!

I feel like a new dad looking through the window of a maternity ward, wondering and guessing which baby is mine! :)

Going to come up with a German name for her.. to match her OEM German datewheel! Ehrfürchtig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I was very lucky to find this modded GMT-IIc. The major stuff had already been done to it. AR was applied to both sides of the crystal and then removed except for below the cyclops. Also it was lumed with C1.

Although the mods I did were simple, I am proud because this is my first finished project. All I had to do was apply ceramic enamel (Pearl White) to the insert I picked up and install it. Then I brushed the PCL's.

Voila, my first completed project! :D

Small project, but a definite confidence booster! I was able to remove the movement from the case a total of 3 times without once messing up the keyless or anything else for that matter! A huge difference from my last project, where I messed up everything! HAHAHA

I only wish the engraving lined up better... ah well, I will be on the lookout for a better case.

I will take better photos but here are some quick phone pics I took while finishing her up!

Huge difference in the two inserts!

  3. Hello and welcome!!

I'm fairly new here, but it's been great and all the "pro's" have been really helpful and friendly!!

My first build was a failure but I learned a lot from it. Keep trying and if you get to the point of total frustration and you're spending waaay over your planned budget (like I did) you can always send the project off to a modder to finish. I had to, but I'm happy to report I finally finished my own mod project today!

Hope you have lots of fun learning and doing projects!!

  4. I'm also working on a couple of SD builds. I came across a gen dial a few weeks ago on vrf and bought it. There is a nice tripple 6 gloss dial on fleabay now! I bought a rep matte triple 6 dial off fleabay recently but waiting for it to show up so I can start that project. Keep searching the usual places, I had some great advice from a veteran here, "patience."

I can't wait to see everyone's SD builds!! My fav rollie!!

  5. Thanks for all the nice comments guys, it really means a lot! This one stays with me, that's for sure! ;)

I'm hoping to take some daytime pictures this weekend! :good:

Nooooo more pics, I can't stop staring at the ones you've already posted!!

    umm ok, more please!! :D

My legs have developed a severe case of tourettes.. I sit and stare at 3717 pics and my legs shake uncontrollably.. probably too much info... LOL!

  7. Sweetness! I can't wait to get mine from Concepta and your post is making me nuts with anticipation!!

Who's your AD?? Can I get his contact info?? :D I need to source a buckle and the AD's around here are total tight wads!

Example- I called one place and told them I needed a buckle. They gave me the run around and told me to come in. I told them I wanted to make sure they had it in stock so I wouldn't waste a trip. They couldn't answer if they had any because the in house watchsmith was out to lunch.. I left my number but never got a call back.

Cheers and congrats on an awesome watch!!!

  8. I'm trying to build a few franken SD's. I've got parts for 2 16660 builds and a 16600. I'm trying to find some SD's to take the cases and build off. I'm not worried about lug holes.. yet.. but just need to source some cases!

Does anyone know where I can find SD's?!?

There are some on untrusted dealers on the web... but.. don't want to get scammed.

What is the Sea-Dweller "lite" that I've seen on some sites all about?

As usual, any help is much appreciated! Wouldn't be able to enjoy this hobby much if it wasn't for all of you!

  9. Importr- I totally agree! I'm more excited to get this franken then I was when I ordered my gen 5001-07!!

I'm going to go have it authenticated, just to get a real kick out of it all! I will post pics of it when I get it done at the AD.

Concepta has updated me, the parts are all ariving today and then they are off to Domi. WOOOOHOOOO!

To all the bros out there who are also getting the "genestein" 3717, soon we will have our babies home!
