I'm gonna get whatever device comes out. If it's a watch, I probably won't wear it much. I'm hoping it's more of a health device though. That will be a lot more useful than a digital watch that has wifi.

I have always wondered whether certain watches on social media are real or fake but have not had a proper place to discuss them other than starting a new thread every single time. I hope that this thread will be a thread where all such general inquiries can go to. So: is this rep or gen?

I've compiled some interesting gen vs rep pictures posted on this forum. I am sorry I don't have the original thread's link but hopefully it's ok to repost some pictures Those new 44s are almost impossible to tell apart!!

Because it's embarrassing to wear a watch with obvious visual flaws. I don't like wearing a watch knowing that there are flaws that someone like me can spot from an arm's length. I also never post pictures of my reps online because of these reasons. Granted, I would never buy a Franken watch when the gen costs 3000 since the cost of building a good Franken is usually above 2000. But for something like AP ROOs, spending 3000 to build a Franken doesn't seem totally absurd. I haven't done it yet but I have spent 500+ on some AP reps just modding and stuff so I guess I'm only half way there.

1) scamming seems like a wrong thing to do. Taking advantage of gullible people in this way seems wrong. 2) it's a lot of fun to call out people, whether it's on forums or eBay. It's also fun to identify reps from small differences. It's a bit of a game, trying to determine authenticity of some good fake watches.
