  1. There actually was a problem with my PAM104 with 7750 when it arrived. The DW was stuck, thought it was broken. Mailed Robert and he said he would replace the watch, no hazzle. Luckily there was probably only something jamming the DW because it started working after doing a little "exercise" on the crown... But that just my story, unfortunate if other of you had problems...
  2. I've bought from him, worked great. Good contact and a very nice watches. I write politely to him, he replies politely back.
  3. First of all, definately not a Rolex!! Rolex's are considered boring and an old-mans watch. And yes, I'm pretty sure of this, well at least in Sweden among Swedish girls. And I think we can all agree that Sweden has one of the nicest female part of the pop. in the world. I think a PO on a bracelet is a pretty good choice. Not the orange one though. Most larger similar looking watches on bracelet would work. Of course it also depends on the way you dress. If you dress "modern", something big like a PAM works great. My PAM104 on rubber seems to be very popular. My black IWC Porto-Chrono has been popular when I've been dressed more sharp. Anything gold, or to blingy is a big no-no. The Hublots might work, especially the all-black or similar. Also think your (TS) Navitimer is a good choice.
  4. Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but I thought I would give some input to this suggested MacGyver testing method. I would say that the method (theory) does not work, and don't try it! Why?... Well simply because heat transfer is not instant "enough". (moment of inertia, kind of...) It would take a few seconds until the heat reaches the inside of the watch enough and to heat the air to expand. Within these few seconds water will have the chance to slip inside. In other words, pressure build-up is not instant. Also, if anything, the thermal expansion of the watch should start sooner than heating of the air inside, thus lowering the pressure inside. Of course this would effect would be marginal. I don't have the wish to do the math on this, but I'm fairly sure my theory applies. My only proof though is general "engineer reasoning". What are your thoughts?
  5. ...well clearly she is. Very popular too it seems, can't believe I missed that.
  6. Thanks for the excellent and detailed information! And sorry for spamming you with another link... http://www.watch-international.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=62_281&products_id=3118 This is from Mary's website. She's from RWG, don't know if she is here too(?). This model has slightly better specs (I think). Also the 7750, but stated as "New Improved 29J Version"... Any opinions about this watch from Mary?
  7. I actually missed that this was a quartz watch. Anyone got it? Is it good? Guess that the original is not available in with quartz movement though... Actually found the automatic too: http://www.watcheden.com/iwc-portuguese-chronograph-asia-valjoux-7750-movement-with-black-dial-i-15168-p-1.html Is this the one to stay away from?
  8. I've seen those, absolutely stunning! To much money for me though... Any tips on the more affordable ones?
  9. Hi, New to this specific forum, been around the "scene" for a little while though... Welcome to me! I've recently become obsessed with the wonderful IWC Portuguese Chronograph "black/black" watch. After reading around and searching the forum for a number of hours, I've realized that this particular model have a history of rather bad/unstable reps. So I'm humbly asking if anyone here has any experience of any recent rep of this model and maybe offer some tips on where to get a good quality piece? The only seller I've found so far is this one: http://www.watcheden.com/iwc-portuguese-working-chronograph-number-markers-with-black-dial-leather-strap-i-53156-p-1.html Might be good, but it's a cheapie! All tips and help is warmly appreciated! /Jonas
