  1. Wow this will be nice! Let's see photos!
  2. Both my DWs accepted gen tropic-21s just fine.
  3. "Vintage dome snob"?!! Well !!! CM is just saying that because he currently has a leg up on me in the Doxa World Domination plan. Rust never sleeps my friend... there's more than one way to win the DWD competition. And hey, that is one niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice Carrib you've got there!
  4. Uh ohhhhhhhhhhhh.... someone riled up the Big Kahuna.............
  5. Good thing you saved your money, I'm not sure what that thing is, but it's no Divingstar. It sorta almost has the case of an Aubrey era Doxa but everything else is just................wrong. I'm thinking someone put a dial and hands on something else, threw in some aftermarket parts and came up with a mutt. Noah Fuller makes "Soxa" dials for Seiko, and others will make whatever you ask them to do. Check out the script "Divingstar" in the top left quadrant... that's supposed to say "Automatic". Here's a "Seiko" that's got some Noah parts on it. Pretty nice eh?
  6. World Domination... I'm in! You guys don't go swimming with your Doxas? My BL is completely waterproof and I swim with it all the time. But the Sharkie doesn't have a screwdown crown so she stays dry.............. ...........for now. Interesting aside: I took her to a mall watch repair place this weekend and asked what supplier might make generic crown/tube combos in various sizes that could be fit to the case, and get it waterproof again? He looked it over and said "Oh, this one isn't made to be waterproof". I took it away from him and ran.
  7. Good Lord we could own them ALL. Someone pour cold water on me!! Man those T-Graphs are nice. And that Doxa Vader milspec is just over the top. And I'm supposed to be able to sleep now??? Here's a thought... With all the watchmaking expertise we've got on this board how hard would it be to turn a Sub 300T into a HRV Pro? The boys on the Doxa site would wet themselves.
  8. Excellent, welcome from another sunlight-starved denizen of the arctic.
  9. And there we have it... HALF the Black Lungs in the world right here on good ol' RWG. Nicely played, lads! You've got some outstanding pieces here.
  10. The bezel is supposed to be a press fit, and should not turn. You can pry it off to clean the residue, then press it back on again.
  11. ALERT ALL DOXA DROOLERS!! There's a very lovely vintage Sub 200 T-Graph on Ebay right now, the one with the silver dial. It's exceedingly rare, and looks to be in great shape. It also has the vintage Beads of Rice bracelet... impossible to find. Join the crowd! Give Lanikai some brotherhood! These are wonderful pieces.
  12. Outriggers? We don't need no steenking outriggers!
  13. Funny, that's what it looks like in the morning when I pull up my sleeve to check my pace on my bike ride to work!
  14. You wanna gets anodda Doxa? Yous comed to da right place.
  15. You got it, the Sub 600 T-Graphs use a decorated ETA 2894-2 chrono movement. Hey Lani, how does it keep time? I'd have to say my Doxas are the most accurate watches I own, usually running within
  16. Sense of humor? Haaah! Don't count on it. But there are a couple good guys over there... Dr. Pete, Simon, Granite. Boy did you start your Doxaholic journey with a bang! That's simply gorgeous. Wonder when Chicken Manny will chime in here?? He's got some really nice pieces too.
  17. Magnificent piece! Welcome to the club!
  18. I LOVE IT!!! There's just nothing like a fine timepice lurkin' with a gherkin. Do I count THREE Doxas there?
  19. The episode tonight is about the maulings last summer when Petra got chewed by the brown bear. It was all filmed about 1/4 mile from my house.
  20. That gilt meters-first still makes me drool !!
  21. You guys might really like it... The Catco rigs and the ice drill making ice roads is what I used to do... Those are my buddies on the show. You can impress all your friends with accurate terminology; those aren't "Catcos" they're called Rolligons. "Catco" is the Crowley All Terrain Company. Did you see them jack the grader up off the ice with the blade when they parked it? That's so it doesn't tear the bottoms off the tires when they move it next time. Watch it and get a taste of the real Alaska!
  22. What a magnificent piece! That's my all-time favorite Triplock crown, and the "curious misspelling" is proof that it's a gen clasp. Mine is spelled the same way, and Ubi pointed out that it's a known "tell" of the genuine part. Magnificent!!
