  1. In fact I'm selling mine, trying to be sober and move on from this watch collecting addiction

“Addiction”? If it’s that serious you need a clean break brother. Best way is to be done with those foul watches! Done with them! Make your move! Quick while you’re motivated, jump up! Do it now! Grab them all, yes ALL, and throw them in a box! Do it! Be strong! Tape that box up! Lock the beasts inside!!! Take charge!

    Now mail it to me.

  2. I'm in for a thin font 6536 insert, no red triangle.  I've had to struggle along with a gen MkII Fat Fonts insert all these years ... how I suffer.   :bangin:

IMHO the red triangle would scream "I'm a fake".  The red is never faded enough, the pip is still too intact, and the recent immaculate examples have gone for $4,000 plus.

It's easy to inscribe "fold marks" on the case side bevel of a smooth monobloc crown.  Study what they're supposed to look like, and go to town with a diamond tool.

  3. Yeah I pushed too hard and smashed that hours hand down so far it wouldn't turn then I had to get it back off.  Tweezers?  Nope.  Hemostats?  Not on your life.  Pick it up with an xacto knife?  Dream on.  Give me the damn channel-locks.

It came off.  And I broke the weak-ass pansy fricken cheap wussy miniature godforsaken stinking stem inside the crown.

Next time I need to take a Seiko apart I'm using a different set of tools.  I'm done "persuading" things to come apart.

  4. Nice, welcome aboard!  We're here to archive and share information, and enjoy watches of all kinds.  Lots of folks show up, ask the obligatory "Who has the best Sub?" and buy it and disappear.

You did it right ... read, read, read and read some more, make your choice, then show us your new piece in some photos.

  5. Welcome aboard @Simonix

We're mostly the senior members of the original RWCC which became TRC which became RWG, which Blade torpedoed, and we wound up here when RWG started to sink.  We tend to run a quieter, more thoughtful knitting circle watch site here, and all are welcome.

Let's see some photos!  What are you building this week, or what new piece can't you seem to peel off your wrist?
