  1. Of course I do! That is a great watch. I had one for a short time. Forget now why I got rid of it. I think I had decided at the time to keep the PO as the black dialed sports watch. I kind of developed a "one watch per broad category" objective. Still do, though as I said earlier I have a hole in that category now. Youve reminded me that maybe I need to consider that watch along with a new Sub.
  2. No, I didn't do any color corrections on any of them. Its the greet dial version, not the silver which is the one that appears more like white in some lighting. The grey dial is rhodium so it has that look in all light. I actually don't own the watch anymore. As much as I love the way it looks I find it very uncomfortable as I started to feel about many watches. I suppose thats the main reason I have gravitated back to Rolex after so much exploration. I'm old school at the end of the day I guess and I like the classic designs. But more than that I love the way they feel on me. 9 times out of 10 these days you will see me with one of the two Day Dates or the Yachtmaster. If dressed in a suit which is rare I'll wear the VC and if in shorts or otherwise very casual clothes the Aquatimer. I do have a whole in the casual corner for a black dialed sport watch and I'll bet I end up with another black Sub, which like most was the first rep I ever had. Full circle. At this point there are only a couple watches I really want that are more collection type pieces. I want a great perpetual and a great column wheel chrono. The perpetual is likely to be a Lange, though I'm still getting my mind around dropping that kind of money on a F'ing watch. Though the PT DD was a painful warmup. lol. The column wheel chrono is leaning toward another VC. Maybe this year who knows. Honestly I've been enjoying having a small collection and wearing all my watches every week for a change. I found with a large collection once I photographed them they would sit and eventually started to wonder if I was actually buying them just to have fun taking pictures.
  3. Its been a long time since I took a watch photo, but here are some old wristies I took back in the day to post here...
  4. Thanks D, good to see you too. Cheers. So what are the best new PAMs in your opinion?
  5. Seems like Panerai has been the front runner for the really accurate stuff since I've been away then?
  6. What kind of gig are you looking for?
  7. From a comfort perspective I'd have to say the Aquatimer bracelet. I had the steel rep and own the Ti gen still. Great unique design. I think the rep Rolex jubilee bracelets are really silky too. Very close to the original. Not may fav look personally but beyond comfortable.
  8. Good to see you too. I gotta get over there and visit one of these days...
  9. BTW, if anyone is interested my gen Rhodium/roman/oyster Datejust is up for sale on TZ right now. I had two of them actually identical except I had a fluted bezel I put on one, and wore it a ton before I got the Day-Dates. That one I sold locally and the one for sale now is the one I basically never wore. I probably should have listed it here first but didn't think of it...
  10. Hahahahahahahahahaha. The markets have been wonderful. Lots of volatility in the last few years, which for us is welcomed and then some. Though we still have some funds frozen from that F'n MF debacle. Makes me sick. We got most of it released and thank God we didn't clear everything through them. I've got associates from other firms that are going broke not being able to trade their funds at all. Criminal that the Merc didn't make that right and nip it in the bud right when it happened. Don't get me started...
  11. Yeah, they tend to be usually. I like to buy reps of stuff I'm interested in to see if I really like it before springing for the gen. Saves a lot of money. The PO, Aquatimer, Yachtmaster are all good examples of that process. I've gotta update the gen collection in the signature though as it has changed a bit. Was almost 50 pieces at one time which was ridiculous as I never wore them. All that remains are the YM, the VC, the platinum/glacier DD and the Ti Aquatimer from the list, and I added a RG DD w/Tahitian MOP dial and a 44mm Aquatimer from the Vintage Collection. I wear them all regularly which is a prerequisite these days. I'm not really a collector anymore....
  12. Hahaha. I still have that Mini actually. Don't drive it much but it's such a great little runabout. Just turned 12k miles. Not bad for an 07 huh? lol
  13. Hi guys. It's gotta be an age since I checked in here. What's doing with the usual suspects. As I glance at the boards it's comforting to see the usual suspects are still around. What have I missed? Lotta new super reps I'm sure? My collection really slimmed down a lot to just a few from each "category" that always get attention but I'm already getting the bug again. Oh-ohhh...
  14. No Ken, It is just the standard small seconds handwind in WG.
  15. Thanks brother. Always nice to hear from you and see your pics. What is the line on those two Rollies? They look great!
  16. Hows it going everyone? I have been a little under the weather and busy as usual so I'm kind of wiped out. I haven't really been into watches as much either. I kind of trimmed everything down to just a few core pieces I wear all the time, which I have been doing for a while now, but now even more. In fact, I just was telling By-Tor last night I put my beloved UN Dual Time GMT up for sale on TZ. Which reminds me, I need to get an ad together for here. That is the last of the watches literally brand new that never make it to the wrist. I love to look at it and shoot pics of it though - just like all watches really. Anyway, I'm just basically down to my Rolexes and my one formal dress watch (VC Patrimony Traditionelle) now. I see many of you have stepped up your collections even more which I didn't think possible - lol. More than a few great new reps to choose from now I see. So I just wanted to say hello and I hope all is well with you guys. Take care. RG
  17. Thanks guys. Never knew much about them obviously. I always learn something here. Everyday without fail for...geez have we been here four years already? And TRC before that...and...we are getting old guys!
  18. By mechanical I mean does it run on a spring, or does it run on a battery? All non-digital watches have mechanisms of some kind to move the hands of course. I found the watch in a search but couldn't get any info on the movement. Just curious. The price seems pretty low for a free sprung perpetual movement, but then again as we all know those Asians are very clever. lol.
  19. Nice design and looks good on you. Is this a mechanical watch though? If so I didn't realize that Seiko did those kind of complications and as usual I learn something new everyday here...
  20. Yeah, I wear mine about like Andy does. I just like to have the watch weigh enough to have the weight itself balance it in the right spot. I guess that is why I would say my YM is the most comfortable braceleted sports watch for me right now. At 40MM it isn't huge nor is it thick of course, but the extra weight of the platinum bezel and dial (I have always been surprised just how much it really does add though you wouldn't think so... The "balance factor" for me is all about the combination of something lighter with something heavier. The Ti Aquatimer is similar cause the bracelet is of course light as a feather which is slightly loose and then the weight of the chrono movement on top does that balancing thing. This is also why gold or platinum smaller dress watches are so comfortable. The leather strap weighs nothing and then the precious metal on top sort of perches the watch up and holds in in place. Steel just doesn't do that as well on a smaller watch. I love steel of course but I prefer it with a bracelet. I guess stuff like this is why they call us watch "nuts" boys. The subtle things in life, right?
  21. Lately I have noticed another comfort related detail that has become really important to me - balance of the watch on the wrist. I have found that it is directly related to weight and the distribution of weight quite a lot as well. I tend to like my watches a hair loose. Not sliding around but not so tight as to keep it from moving at all. So for me the way the watch balances on the wrist with that little bit of play I like is paramount. If too top heavy it will slide into that spot where it digs in if you know what I mean. And if it is too light that is lost altogether but it won't use its own weight to stay put either. I'm speaking mostly about the way watches feel when you are sitting down and moving your hands/arms around in normal use ir conversation. Anyway, just wondering if those of you that wear the watches a hair less than tight know what I mean and if you are like me and really notice from watch to watch the weight and distribution of the weight? For example, I love the way my Yachtmaster feels. The platinum dial and bezel makes a surprising difference in weight that is top heavy and with the steel lower in the case and bracelet it kind of sits there perfectly. Another example though would be some of the larger steel or gold watches I have owned like the Fish or the MMD that have even more weight but with the way I like to wear them don't balance well and kind of ride up and get stuck to one side. Oh and one more example. I tend not to like smaller watches in steel on straps. They are so light they won't stay put at all. For me, most of those unless a bit on the large size - like sports type watches they don't feel right except in precious metals. I'm sure this doesn't apply to everyone but just wondering if those who wear a hair loose notice big differences based on weight and distribution of it....
  22. Couldn't agree more. Virtually all Patek's & AP's do nothing for me. Most JLC's do nothing for me either. Vacheron & Lange are about it for me of the Haute Horologie brands.
  23. Looking good J. I see you are still at it and as talented as ever...
