Trying to find someone who does caseback engraving? I remember several years ago jmb did engraving, however I don’t know if he is still around and whether he still offers engraving and milling services?

I found someone who will take a look at my 382 that I dropped and has a few of the glued on decorative parts floating around.

My question is should the watch smith find significant damage and a new movement is in order, which one of the several a7750 variants would be correct. I was looking at Startime supply’s online catalog, and they list probably a half dozen different configurations. Alternately, do any of the dealers sell movements that would be appropriate for this watch, with the decorative bits and such?

Hi guys I recently dropped my Bronzo 382. It ran for a couple of days then stopped. There are two parts ( looks like a small deco part and the top of the balance bridge are loose. Provably something else that’s jamming the movement.

I need a watchsmith here in the USA that can repair or replace the a7750 movement.

Here are a few photos of the back of the watch. There is a loose part stuck to the back glass and one photo it looks like it’s blocking the rotor. What is this part? Obviously the watch will need to be opened up and repaired.

That would be great if you could send me his name and phone number. Austin is just one state over from us. For years, I have used mymanmatt, who lives in Dallas. Unfortunately, Matt has been having a lot of health problems and he is no longer able to work on watches. In fact he recently sent back two watches that he told me that he just couldn’t work on.

Looking for info from you real Panerai guys. A few days ago, I dropped my Bronzo on a wood floor while cleaning it. It worked for a while but today I noticed that it was not running, and the rotor was not spinning. Also while setting it I noticed what seemed like the movement was moving around. The crown works fine in all three positions. I was wondering who works on the A7750 movements? My old watch guy mymanmatt is no longer working on watches. I haven’t been active here for a while so sort of lost track of who is repairing watches.

I believe that a lot of the SM300’s that come up on EBay are these Vietnam cased watches. They are gen spec and they all have Omega movements. They are pretty hard to tell from the genuine unless you are pretty darn knowledgeable about the vintage SM 300’s.

Just scanning thru EBay, sure seems like a good quality of high end Doxas, dials, bezels etc on EBay right now. Be very cautious, especially with parts. Bezels had very subtle design changes over the years. From the top, they all look identical, but from the bottom you can see the changes. Also beware of dials that have been “enhanced” with the Aqualung logo as well as the yellow dial Divemasters with the Poseidon logo

Another EBay scammer!! Unfortunately, someone will not heed the warning signs and get scammed. Money gone, no watch either.  

Since he is asking 17,706 ( weird number) on Chrono24 I would bet that he wasn’t selling at 12-13k. But, you maybe right could be the buyer thought it was 1200 not 12000!!

Just noticed the BL has been relisted. It’s also for sale on Chrono24. Asking price is 17706.00 USD. I suppose the reserve was not met on the first listing.

You all do know that the Black Lung along with a few others are being sold by Mr. Doxa himself Rick Marai. Rick recently stepped down as the head of Doxa SA. Since Doxa is a privately held company owned by the Jenny family,there is no information as to why there was a management change. Rick was responsible for resurrecting the Doxa dive watches. Which while having great success in the late 1960’s,1970’s and early 1980’s, by the late 1980’s had ceased production. Under Rick’s leadership the modern Sub 300t was introduced in 2001 and the rest is history.

Look at those Prices! Take note of the Black dial watch n the center the one with the “ No Radiations” symbol. That folks is a Blancpain AquaLung . Retail price 95.00 $
No Black Lungs here as they were from around 1967 but I would bet they were actually a few dollars cheaper.

I will absolutely say this, a few weeks or a month ago, Cartier was not a tiny blip on my radar. In fact, I looked at a Cartier sort of like a Tiffany watch, in other words watches produced by jewelry companies, not pure watch companies. Now, I know that historically this is incorrect, in fact Cartier stands as one of the first if not the first true wristwatch. Now, a confession.For the past year plus, I have been wearing an Apple Watch, first a 4 and now a 5. I wear one for several reasons, but mainly because of all the features. I’m in my 7th decade. I am very active and work a lot outside often out of sight and sound of others. The feature that calls my designated emergency contact should I take a hard fall could be a lifesaver for me. However what led me to look at Cartier was the rectangular shape of the Apple Watch. I feel very comfortable with that shape. I started looking at rectangular and square watches. This of course led me to Cartier. Beautiful watch, very nice, and according to a lot of guys that know a lot more about Cartier than I will ever know, call these super reps. And guess what? They copied a really popular feature of Apple watches, the quick strap change feature. This is a great feature that allows quick and easy strap and bracelet changes. More formal, change to the Black Alligator, casual Friday, the Blue Gator works, get the idea? So when I decided, I searched and was able to buy a Santos XL in a M2M sale. I also was able to buy a genuine Cartier Blue Alligator strap. I haven’t owned the watch for long, and truthfully I doubt that it will replace myApple watch 5 as a daily wearer, but certainly for more dressy occasions and/or when I want to wear a “real” watch, it will be my go to watch.

I believe you are correct. I reported a Cartier that was on EBay for the ridiculously low starting price of 250.00 USD. It sold for 600.00 USD , and then appeared as a relisting a day later. It later sold again for 631.00 USD. Obviously the first buyer figured out it was a fake. It is obviously fake, numbers were all wrong, build quality bad and of course the usual "I got this watch as a gift, no box or papers" !! This is the usual scam along with blurry slightly out of focus photos. Took forever to figure out how to report it directly, finally went to the EBay community forum and got help there. Also reported it to Cartier with an explanation and listing #.

Ebay is not doing anything to make sure that fake merchandise is being sold. The only thing that will stop it is a few massive lawsuits lost and then maybe they will listen when people report a fake product.

And just and aside, AMAZON is getting just as bad. It's riddled with fake merchandise, mostly from 3rd party sellers. You have to be really careful on AMAZON now. 

@belle Nikita First off welcome to RWG. I believe that while it is a much quieter forum with not as much activity going on, it is a great place for information. We have a lot of folks here who are really, really knowledgeable about watches. If you are in to vintage watches or highly modded watches, this is the place!! We are a very congenial group, and most members will gladly share their information and knowledge with new members.

You are right, I bought a few things from him and he replaced the incorrect hands on a Tudor Snowflake w/ the correct hands. It wasn't very long after that that he got into trouble. I was surprised as well, like I'm sure the folks over on Australia felt when this guy that everyone thought was a straight shooter turned out to be a scammer. I believe that this fellow and Steve M had something in common, they both got into financial trouble and tried to scam their way out of it.
