  1. Back in the good old days when the Dollar had high purchasing power, and on the gold standard.
  2. Alright thanks. How much money will such a service cost, and how long does it take? BTW the hands started moving again after about 2-3 hours of wearing.
  3. This watch is very new though, and not worn much yet.
  4. Okay, so it doesn't matter if you turn the crown counterclockwise? BTW I found that the A7750 stops moving fairly quickly when not wearing it on your wrist. For example if I leave it on a desk for one night, it'll have stopped moving the next day. Is this normal?
  5. Alright, so you should always turn the crown clockwise to set both time and date? I read on a eHow guide to turn the crown counterclockwise for the date. Does it matter if you accidentally move the crown counter-clockwise? Also, I heard something about winding up the movement if it stopped for a long time. How does that work? I'd rather just wear it a while so it automatically starts again. How can you avoid to accidentally wind up the movement?
  6. What are the exact rules to set the time and date of a Breitling? From what I found so far it's: 1. unscrew the crown counter-clockwise. 2. pull it out completely and set the time to 4:30 (recommended before setting date). 3> turn the crown clockwise to set the time. 4. push in the crown one level to set the date. 5. turn the crown counterclockwise to set the date. 6. when finished push the crown all the way back in and turn it clockwise to lock it again. Tip: move the crown gently. I find it odd that you must set the time clockwise, but date counterclockwise. Can someone please confirm that this method is correct?
  7. Depends which version you get. They can be as spot on as a super reps.
  8. Two screws on my Bling bracelet are stuck, I tried to unscrew it for many hours, but to no avail. Also used some oil to grease it up. What can be done to get these two tiny screws loose so the link can be removed or is it impossible?
  9. Goes to show how crazy some Rolex fans are to fork out $40k or €31k for a book. I suspect the value of this book could increase over time, because it's a limited edition, based on the regular price of 4000 euros.
  10. They intend this digital watch to be a replacement for cellphones. So then you'd wear that, but leave your second watch at home or wear it on your other wrist, personal choice. I'm not gonna wear two watches at once, so will choose a quality mechanical watch over this digital device.
  11. Many won't be able to tell teh difference between a mediocre rep and franken anyway. If you have to spend a lot to get laid, then you're doing something wrong. You can split the bill too in some occasions. If you pay for stuff to win her heart, she'll like you for what you give her and expect more in the future, not who you are as a person.
  12. Right, which brings me again to the point that I don't forsee people walking around with two watches, unless it can really compete with a cellphone/iphone/PDA, which I doubt due to its size. If you have to replace that watch every few years, you'll end up spending more vs 1 expensive mechanical watch too.
  13. That watch will lose value quickly, because technology advances rapidly. It'll be as outdated as an ipod or cellphone, but a high quality mechanical watch retains value.
  14. Well it looks interesting, but what are we gonna do: wear a sci-fi digital watch, and one classic movement watch on each wrist? That would be weird.
