It's been determined that the v2 clasp is superior to the v3 clasp.
And the SEL on the v3 is superior to the v2's SEL.
QUESTION :
Can anyone tell me what date code came on your v2 clasp that came with the v2 Bracelet??
And perhaps the date code on the v2 clasp that TC offered as a "combo" with his v2/v3 combo??
Thanks guys.

Markers comming off a gen ?
Like Freddy said....that's a rare occurence.
I've never had it happen to me, nor have I ever heard of it happening.

I lucked out once and scored a 1981 Submariner Booklet for 41.00
(it resold elsewhere for 300.00 )

I agree with Rolexman.
Fake sunglasses WILL block visible spectrum light so your pupils will dilate. But if they aren't blocking UVA/B then your wide open pupils are allowing more damaging rays in than if you weren't wearing shades at all.
Spend the money. Save your eyes. It's worth it.
The last two pairs I bought were vintage ground glass Revos for under $100 per pair. Nothing finer.
I agree.
I've managed to keep the RB's cost below a buck 20 going vintage...Gatsby Style 8 W1530's LOVE 'em

Now THAT's how it's done.
Great job brother !!
It's not about the "savings and expenditures".
How many can say " I built this gen myself"??
-
Is there any way to make a real 1:1 and what will be the costs?
Sure there's a way but doing for less than the cost of just going out and buying a nice preowned piece can be a trick.
It takes patience....and know how

I agree with everything the "resident pros" have already said.
But your hand set looks damn good.
That's gotta be one of the most acurrate pointers on a rep seconds hand I've ever seen.
It's a tad bit short but they nailed to taper

Awesome build.
Congrats basketbob.
Fidhle007 is right.
The dial font on this one is the newer version...the stick bar at 6 position has nothing to do with "dating" the dial.
There are several variations of 16800/16610 dial font but the stick bar hasn't ever changed.
As for the pointed super lumi insert as opposed to the tritium and luminova Flat 4 insert...the flat 4 just looks better, date era correct or not

Like the title says....has anyone heard from mitch ??
If so Please PM me.
GREAT guy, GREAT member and a GREAT friend.
Talked at least an hour on the phone every evening,,,and suddenly...no more mitch.
I'm concerned.
Thanks guys.

Hands are wrong
date font and cyclop mag is wrong....as is cyclop...these come with the AR'd cyclop
dial font and markers are wrong....and 6 position stick bar marker sits way too low
rehaut is a wok
C-bezel font is wrong
SEL's fit very poorly

The 25-295-CAR-CY crystal fits the BP..........??
-
Freddys right.
If you can see that then it's time to dive in.
Many tutorials out there.
This is the one that put everything into perspective for me.
I took it all out and started from scratch and it really helped me to grasp the assembly alot better.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I broke the 116 so I thought I'd drop a gen 295-C in.
Nope.
DW is in the eta position so I removed the cyclop from a BK TW 2mm crystal and repositioned a gen cyclop.
Not perfect but it worked and I was in a hurry to seal it back up.
I'd originally considered transplanting the guts to the discontinued NoobFactory 16570 Exp.II case (for a correct fitment of the 295-C Sapphire.)
It's too big in diameter to fit that case.
This case has a very good shape to it already....the case isn't wider than the bezel at the 2, 4, 8 and 10 positions like the Cartel offering is.
And I noticed this 1655 case has a groove cut much like that in a gen case for the mvt. screws.
Is this typical of the Cartel case and others being offered....??....this case may very well accept a gen mvt. but I dunno.
I've decided to either go with a gen T116 plexi or the sapphire conversion crystal.
IMHO the watch "needs" the tall crystal profile (and the correct open 6/9 DW) to look it's best.
I'm unfamiliar with what's available for the 1655 and the various versions but the hands on this one have a much wider lume surface than the gen and than the Cartel offerings and others I've seen....which makes it a perfect candidate for a SL job should I decide to go the "retro" direction with it.
-
Actually if the mvt is running again, then the stem has been pulled from the time setting position.
Try to re-insert the stem into the mvt.....perhaps gently turning while inserting.
You may just get lucky and realign the keyless without having to pull the hands, dial and date wheel

Update...answer to my own question asked over a year ago.
The 24-5330 has the the thin metal "seal" that goes between the tube and the case.
It's much better to use when pressure testing is a concern

Great remembrance and great work.
That's a very cool looking piece.
Nice job .

I would think that China cracking down on the Rep factories in China would be much like the US War on drugs.
They "could" do a much better job shutting things down if they relly wanted to..and if the Govt didn't actually control these things....but why should they....they're raking in mega-billions.
It's all just a big "front"...a "smoke-screen"....at least that's the way I see it
-
Oh BTW, just thought about it but I have a luminova black dial for sale in mint conditions... PM me if you're interested !
Can you PM me Valty.??
it seems your box is full

Send the case to phong.

Thanks for all the input.
So it's certain that the WSO T116 is a gen spec crystal in regards to dimensions ??
If I'm going to take a "test drive" for proper fit, Gary has them on ebay for like 7.00 I think.
Is the Clark 116 gen spec in dimensions too....can anyone confirm that.
Thanks guys.
My 16520 Patrizzi Daytona for a gen GMTIIC? Would you do it?

I can't afford to sport a Daytona.
And as already mentioned...a GMT is....well...just a GMT.
I'd keep the Daytona...it's bound to be far more rewarding
And it sure looks a helluva lot nicer than a GMT to me.
