  3. Hi gents, I have a Pam 177 ti sterile on the for sale forum, but Im starting to think I should just get it modded. Currently it has a gen hamilton movement and fantastic tight crown. It is also superlumed, but the lume doesnt glow bright for terribly long. What Id like is to mod it further to make the following changes 1: lume that will glow bright for hours 2: a brown (if possible) or black dial, luminor marina, no second hand - even tho the current dial has one, no logo 3: So that preferably, I dont get called on it while it is on the wrist.... So Im wondering, whats the best approach to make this happen? Is there someone on this forum who can do the work for me, amd any idea of rough cost? Will post link to sales forum in next post
  4. http://gerlach.org.pl/?page_id=123&lang=en Apparntly can be had on request with black stitching on the band
  5. However I do not like the way the strap attaches to the case - looks a bit flimsy. Also the Blue stitching & CF effect is to my eye a bit out of keeping with the rest of the watch design. Be interested to know how you get on with your bit of Polish trinketry! Dunno about the connection to the case, no bad reports from existing members tho. Have chatted to Gerlach and straps can be had with black stitching rather than the blue... not a stock item, but they are happy to organise
  6. Lume on these (including bezel numerals) is amazing. However I do not like the way the strap attaches to the case - looks a bit flimsy. Also the Blue stitching & CF effect is to my eye a bit out of keeping with the rest of the watch design. Agreeg and agreed, ill be asking if ghe strap cam be had with black or stitching.
  7. True, is there anyone else who can do this kind on work? Matt
  8. Its not a sandwich dial unfortunately, Re the strap no plans at the mo, I love surf fishing and swimming in the oceam with this thing on so the current strap being waterproof isa real bonus. Would consider it tho... Do you do these kind of mods? Cheers, Matt
  9. Ive got this watch I love. Cost me $45 ws and its quartz. All my other watches, gen and rep are mechanical, but I absolutely love the case on this thing. Is there someone here who could replace the existing dial with a sterile pam in black or blue or brown and superlume the important bits for me?.. I love to wear this watch surf fishing and if the dial were a little cooler and the lume much better for telling the time in the wee small hours Id be very happy indeed! Matt
  10. Thanks, that is very helpful!
  11. Hi gents, I am making some straps from Marine leather I have sourced in Aus. Quality of the precuts is superb. Eventually I plan to make the straps myself, but for the moment I will be getting them manufactured. So, I am wondering what the most common lug widths for Pams are, I suspect 20, 22 and 24... also, I'll endeavour to post images, or at least links to flickr of some of the precut leather and colours. I don't wan't to go hog wild getting pam straps made if no one wants them. My first run will be fairly small, and I plan to only produce in 20, 22 and 24mm, some for Pam, quite thick with the Pam style buckle, the balance with 2mm taper, max 4mm thick so as to facilitate the option of buckle or stainless deployant... I would be very interested in your thoughts. Cheers Matt
  12. Cest la Vie as they say ... had my doubts when offered, and more so after takng reciept, and pretty much knew for sure after reading some of the reviews contained heirin... still, I am comfortable with 20 bucks for the 2 watches... esp as the Mont Blanc is a mechanical and Auto at that. Mate offered to return the Scotch and I passed... Gotta say thol Ive been collecting for about 12 weeks so far amd it is ky least impressive purchase .... very happy with my rep Breguet and Omega po Ultimate, 2x Schhren gens, and Muhle Glaschutte gen.
  13. The scotch cost me 20 bucks, fortunately...
  14. Yeah, thats what I thought, lol...
  15. I swapped a bottle of scotch for a Mont Blanc and a Breitling rep today. Story is that the Breitling is gen except for the strap and movement. Im not so sure, but am by no means an expert, and am wondering if u kind and more knowledgeblegents might be able to offer me some insight. If the story is true, I'll happily shell out for a gen movement and depending on price, maybe even a strap... Or I might just swap it for something else superfranken... http://www.flickr.com/photos/68804514@N05/ Gopefully this link leads you to an image of the watch, amd I look forward to your thoughts... Cjeers Matt
  16. Mmm, am drooling, some stunning watches
  17. Would love to be able to walk into a joint like that on my lunchbreak!
  18. I cant speak for other countries, but can say 5-11 days for me to recieve watches in oz. I can also say that I can generally track watches from originating country to point at which thy enter outbound customs. After that, even tho registered, Auspost choose not to track, as it costs them money. Unless the item is insured and expensive, they dont bother... and the item simply rocks up about 4 to 5 days after it has arrived in outbound customs of country of origin
  19. Hi gents, I am looking at importing and manufacturing some straps... Not endeavouring to sell anything at this stage, just looking for feedback on what people like, and gow best to go about it on this forum without doing the wrong thing. Prices will be good, between 20 and 80 for straps that retail 25 through 140. I also have access to excellent deployants from 15 to 25... Can someone help me with posting an image (ipad obly at the mo, wont let m post) cheers Matt
  20. Turns out this habit is addictive..... While I was hunting for some high quality, reasomable priced straps, ive ended up talking to a watchband producer in Asia and a supplier of marine leather in the Antipodes. Nextthink I know ive got an order for 100 watchstraps... plis im getting 40 made for myself. ill also have access to the Asian straps at wholesale... I am wondering How to go about working towards becomibg a sponsor/ trader here? Matt
