  1. Well I went ahead and ordered one of these! I hope Andrew can get it out before before the damn CNY! Anyway, once it gets here I will do a side by side comparison with one of my SSD V2's that have been Jackjo modded. I'm really excited to see the new superlumed SD right beside my faithful SSD! It should make for an interesting thread with the side by side pictures.

I'll take front, side, back, and dial close ups. I'll also do a bracelet and end link comparison. I hope the rehaut is just distorted from the crystal? The wokky rehaut of the SSD has never really bothered me too much personally.

  2. The Deep Sea should have came with one of the BEST bracelets Rolex has ever made IMO! The clasp on the DSSD with it's easy to operate glidelock type clasp is awesome. You can get the perfect fit and it's very quick and easy to adjust on the go when your wrist swells/shrinks with temperature chages.

Did you DSSD not come with a bracelet?

  3. Yuki is the mysterious hobbit that lives under a bridge....... No, just kidding.... He is a well known supplier of vintage Rolex parts, bracelets, dials, hands ect. Most are of pretty good quality. Although the hands that come with his dials sometimes don't match! (in my personal experience)

  4. Bk just posted over on RG that he doesn't think any parts from this new SD will work on the SSD's of old. They were N00B Factory watches and he says these are definitely NOT from the N00B Factory. Considering the way too wokky rehaut and he said the HEV looks completely different??

  5. No, no, and no... It won't accept gen parts, and the rolex hands won't fit either. Let me rephrase.....It won't accept gen parts with out heavy modding of the gen parts which means they won't be able to be used on a gen when you get them altered to fit the rep.

There are several watch modders listed here on the forum and a few will relume.

  6. There's a forum-trusted (on RWI) watch technician in the Midwest. He's very reasonable and does good work.

Shoot an email to GKloner (at) gmail.com for info and quotes.

Also known as Katt's watch repair..... I've used him recently and the service was lightning FAST and the fees were very reasonable!

  7. Always nice to see an old rep! Shows how far our rep industry has come. To revive this project would be expensive IMO, are the case specs close enough to our present day reps that parts will fit? If it's an odd size case you will have to modify EVERY piece you want to replace. And that will get insanely expensive! You might be better off to just reassemble it and keep it as a "keep sake".
