  1. First, kindly allow me to compliment you on the 253. Nice choice! Second, I think you would be able to carry off the AP Diver nicely, without looking anything remotely close to a rapper.
  2. good thinking. I just sold a MH with gen strap + gen white rubber strap, for slightly more than $1k If I were you, I would definitely opt for the HKTan hornback. You're right, it is handmade and the quality should suffice in terms of look and feel. All the best in your quest bro.
  3. Cohiba Siglio III. Perfect with whisky on a saturday evening.
  4. Mate, you sure that pic is the best way to welcome a new guy? I really think you should stop playing with the sumo wrestler's undies. He might want it back one day, skid marks and all. What you gonna do then?
  5. Welcome to RWG km and welcome to horological madness.
  6. Yes mate, I think the strap, like the watch, is ultimately a matter of personal taste and preference. If you like an HKTan strap on your MH, and it fits well and looks good to you, then I would say it would serve its purpose well on your wrist. The "genuine factor" on the straps is largely subject to personal preference. To me, for example, a lot of aftermarket stuff for my cars are much more interesting than the OEM ones. Its your watch and your wrist Seriph. You decide.

  8. Corruption has always been, and is still rampant among the Chinese officials. They have gotten bold flaunting the ill-conceived wealth via luxury watches, super cars etc. But uncovering corruption in China is a case of "let those without sin cast the first stone" Once you start the witch hunt, many heads will roll, and the hunter may also end up with much more than he bargained more.
  9. Very informative post, OP! I own 3 HKTan straps and I would have to say that I like the worksmanship, they are good straps, though you can expect them to be more "raw" and "rugged" when compared with the genuine AP straps. The HKTan straps are generally less smooth and fitment of the endlinks or buckles could sometimes be a problem, but I am generally happy with his straps. FYI, Aaron offers "high" horns as well.. the horns on these would be much more pronounced then the ones shown in these set of pics. They're not for everyone, but I do like them on my sportier watches. Could make fitting the watches into the winders a terrible chore though.
  10. I did think it was an Hublot Big Bang at first, but I realised Hublots have rectangular pushers. That imprint left on his wrist is round
  11. you sure its not blasting some random asswipe, first post or not?
  12. Puretime, like Trusty, and the other dealers here, get their stocks from the same factories. They do not produce the watch, but they distribute them. In your case, the IWC 3717 would be procured from the same factory whether you purchase from PT or another dealer. The differences are price (mostly similar here though), the QC at their level, efficiency in obtaining the watch, communication with you, and of course, customer service. Find a dealer you are comfortable working with and stick with him/her to build a long term relationship. It would benefit you in the long run.
  13. Hello! I am a fellow gen owner, mostly APs, Hublots and a couple of IWCs and Rolexes, and I think I enjoy the company of this community more than the other forums I frequent. The gen vs rep watch related topics have been discussed to death, and I am sure everyone would have their opinion to offer on the subjects relating to this. For me, a watch is a personal item of choice, and I enjoy my fair share of rep watches, and I enjoy hanging out in this community very much. Depending on the specific watch model, I would buy either the gen or rep one. I do not discriminate against rep watches at all, and in fact I enjoy them very much lol. You will enjoy your stay here if you adopt an open mind and attitude. A lot of members here own gen watches, and like you mentioned, the knowledge shared in this forum is simply humbled me when I first joined last year.
  14. love your PAM 027A mate! Anytime you want to let it go, shoot me a PM.
