  1. I haven't posted many threads on here because I didn't want to be a complete NOOB, so I just read and read until my eyes hurt. I want to say kudos to all of the people who posted the many reviews and photo reviews of the reps that have been acquired, they helped me through the start of this journey. So now I have officially placed my first rep order with a dealer today! Andrew at Trusty was my pick. I think I went a bit overboard on my first order, but I figured what the hell. Payment was confirmed today, now I'm awaiting QC and shipping! The big piece was a Navy AP ROO @12. The AP was the reason I found this forum so I definitely wanted to get it first! I also ordered a black ceramic Sub and a black Deep Sea both with 2813 movements. (Everyone should have at least one or two crowns in their collection)

So a huge thanks to everyone who has contributed to the forum! Now I get to wait patiently on my order to arrive  :play_ball:

sir, if every noob was like you, there would be no need for cuss words and angst among the less patient veterans here :D

Well done you, and enjoy your new and coming watches!!

  2. Hi guys, new to the forum,

Just wondering where is best to buy? Done a bit of googling and there are just so many, basically want to make sure I get the best quality.

    Thanks.

    Firstly, welcome to RWG!

Secondly, what you asked is a noob question without a definitive answer, because different members will tell you differently.

Try the search function, trust me, the last I checked it 47 sec ago, it was working well.

And I just noticed, you are in Guangzhou, the rep capital of the world! Alright then, the best place to buy would be in the city you're currently in.

You have the advantage of saving on freight charges on any rep watch you buy. :D

  3. Puretime is no scam. They have been selling replicas longer than you or I have been buying them. They have been around.
You need to manage your own expectations about replicas, from what I am reading, and a list of questions never to ask them.
For example, I would not ask (at least not via the instant chat crap stuff) whether the watch is 1:1. The answer would almost always be a resounding firm YES, which is total BS.
I also would not rely on the chat system. It sucks harder than a deprived whore at midnight.
Also, for every $488 watch you read about that would not get past 55 sec, trust me when I tell you there are many more $388 ones or $188 ones bought years ago and is still running. You need to know that you are buying a rep. There will be occasional issues with our orders, BUT there are several recourses to solving the post-purchase issues. Learn from the veterans here like I did.

The simple alternative: Find the address of the closest Rolex AD and make a beeline for it. Problem solved PureTime may be forgotten.

  4. Clearly someone have to know what's in the box. When its scanned and one can see the contents....but you will need to have the tool ready to do it though...it almost suggest that this person© know exactly what they are looking for and to do...its really odd to just take the head??!!  This person had a lot of time and probably worked alone to be able to remove the spring bars instead of pocketing the entire watch.   Where would that be?

I think the bracelet was included as an extra.. it already has a strap affixed, the last time I saw it in the sales thread pics

  5. Yo... I got green light again ;) i was in the quarentine one week!!! Thanks to Nanuq ;)

This is a very sad thing, this was the best ever rep i have hade hands down!!! Swedish post dosent cover jewelry so Lo and me needs a recit of some kind of somthing that has to do with movement or case! Is someone have something we could use pleas pm me. It has to be a recit of 850-1000€...

I hurd of this via email from Lo, and i was crushed i was shocked in the same time i hade the flue with a very high feaver, now that is better but this fucked up thing is like huge rock hanging over me! Its not so much we can do right now just keep our eyes open! This is all so depressing.

I think the parcel has been opened in a postal car eighter here in sweden or in itali! Guess we will never know for sure, its just so fucked up and sad!!!

They are no marks on the case. This is the 1655 case so we just have 1655 betwen the lugs, also it has the all red gmt hand and a 6mm crown but thats it!

welcome back, my crazy motherfucker friend! You have been missed...

  6. I really appreciate all the comments! Thanks, but this isnt exactly the best news:)
I THINK i see what you all are saying about the subdial locations. do you mean that there should be 2 complete squares between the 6oclock and 9 oclock subs on the raised square grid? my 6 oclock sub has a partial square under it and thus cuts off one near the 9 oclock sub. While I cant find this exact model, the current selection of AP does all have 2 squares between these dials.

But i am not seeing the difference in the finish on the metal. That looks accurate to me.
It is a quartz movement. My second hand does go tic tic tic.

So the consensus is against the possibility that this is just a variation of the design (are the subs always in the same place? ) lol I really appreciate this. People on ebay were really of no help at all

Thanks for the welcome! Awesome that i got such a response all ready!

    Hello

just so that you know, the AP Royal Oak Offshore model pictured is the Rubberclad, and its supposed to be an automatic watch (self-winding, no battery)
I do not know of any variation of the same model in quartz honestly.

Forget ebay, mate, you are home now. This is more than a forum.. its a virtual school (yeah sometimes of hard knocks), a madhouse of horological lunatics, a gathering of experts who can tell the differences between the 16million models of Panerai, and above all, this is home to people who enjoy watches, rep or gen.

Hang around, and we will learn together :D
  7. Its definitely a replica. For me, the obvious tell in this, is the spacing between the 6 o'clock subdial and the 9 o'clock one. They are too close together. The fact that all the subdial hands are in motion may mean that either the chronograph has been activated and not stopped, and not an indication that its a rep. And as the guys mentioned, its a quartz movement. To confirm this, you just need to see the movement of the second hand. It would go "tick-tick-tick" from one marker to the next, and not a smooth continuous sweep.

I would not spend more than $20 on the repair.

And oh, welcome to RWG :D
