You can source some black enamel paint and fill in the engraving/etching. Once dried off, use a cloth with some acetone to wipe off the excess. Good as new

Not sure if it'll help you, but I purchased a single AR coated sapphire crystal from an eBay seller and fitted it into my SMP Chrono. $76 seemed better than taking a gamble on the gen but since this was an aftermarket crystal made for the gen, I'm assuming rep and gen are of the same dimensions. Clarity has improved and since it's the underside that has AR, it won't scratch with regular wear. It looks closer to gen at least in my eyes. The rep crystal was probably the worst crystal I've ever had on any watch - rep or gen. It was cloudy and a glare magnet.

I actually broke (cracked) my 46mm ceramic case to open it up (the caseback had seized up). Pushers are intact. Let me know if you're interested. This is the doppel chrono version - ordered last month. I'm in CONUS.
