  1. This is the direction I'd like to go on the restoration... not perfect .. well kept/aged Pic of Nicer Ham/W10:
  2. Ohhhhh !! .... you made my sides ache ! "Stay close to the candles.. the staircase..can be trecherous "
  3. Finally pulled the trigger on a Hamilton W10/ Issued British Mil Watch .. I'd been wanting an understated Mil style to wear on a NATO for some time .. I was considering a Khaki King Day/Date 40mm and this W10 .. You know the saying .. "Old is gold" ..Patina and old world charm usually trumps new and shiny. Can't go down to the local store and order one of these, or buy a new one anywhere online. I love the simple styling on this one..and the case... and I love the fact that this was issued and worn in service.. very happy .. price was right... trigger applied. Now for the reason I posted.. besides show and tell.. It needs help.. hands for sure..possibly hour dot lume.. That's a gen Circle T on the dial.. pretty sure it's a real Tritium watch.. 1975 vintage. I'd like the hands looking better but in concert with the genuine patina .... looking for advice.. please keep advice budget friendly if possible. pics:
  4. Yuki has them for $248.00 .... Brevet re-pops. Other sources I should check for 8mm Big Bond Crowns ?? Thinking of trying one on an Explorer 1 or a New Sub with nuked CGs. Id like a better price if thats an option...
  5. Nice looking watch .. cant go wrong with a SOH
  6. Love the look on your build.. Looks like a well maintained older watch. congratulations.
  7. If I were setting up an auction site the buying would be immediate payment only.. Individuals aren't stores with layaway departments.Who wants to chase or wait for their money or deal with a douche that's wanting to pay you when his paycheck comes in 2 weeks? Feedback would be like the old days when you could say " shipped late or got screwed" if that happened. Communication would be strictly through PM's on the site to eliminate the Feedback Blackmail that some of the toads engaged in. Auction format would be wide open.. want a 24 hour auction? .. no problem.. Auctions could be from 1 to 30 days. Buy it Now wide open with no extra fee to include it. Set selling fees instead of percentage. Dedicated escrow department and personel to handle disputes... Auction personel you could ship items to for examination and fair resolution. There's a dozen other things I would include as well.. I'd be tough on those who didn't describe acurately or deal fairly- the whole market depends on being able to do business long distance safely.. without loosing as buyer or seller.
  8. flEaBAY has long garnered a permanent spot on my dart board. I suppose it's because they are so in your face about getting into your wallet.. unapologetic and aggressive from my viewpoint. Most of the descisions I see them make seem only aimed at serving themselves, lining their own pockets, and being giagantic pains in the ass to anyone selling there. So when I listed some expensive gen sunglasses 2 days ago on the Bay imagine my surprise when they told me "you cannot list certain items in the 3 day format anymore.. you must list them for 5 days" .. WTF???? How long before it's a 10 day minimum? [censored] ... If they allowed 1 day auctions they'd have more viewership... immediate sale for the seller and buyers would hit it up more often in surfing because of the new product available for sale that day... it would liven it up. Not that I want that.. I want some serious competition to come along and blow them the Hell out of the water.
  9. The issue you're speaking of is not confined to Rep watches.. Every new car dealer in the country has a Make Ready Dept. or Preventive Maintenence Dept. -There to double check the cars before they are put on the front line for sale because cars often leave the factory with things undone or not quite up to spec. This is standard proceedure for US made products coming from fortune 500 companies. Products from Rep factories will not have the Quality Control standards of 1st tier companies.. Expect this and Plan for this .. write a watch service into your own budget for your next rep. Buy a watchmaker's tool kit and go over your own watches.. nobody cares for your watches like you do. Try to find the faults before they become a problem.
  10. I bought my Titoni gen from Hong Kong 4 years ago.. it was not during the C new year. Took over 2 months but it did finally arrive.
  11. Had a problem in December on an inbound Christmas present ... Somebody at USPS "revised" the tracking info. One day it was out for delivery, the next day that info had disappeared. I was at home all day during the day it was "out for delivery" and checked the mailbox within minutes of the postman coming. There was no attempt to deliver. I ended up calling customer service in Washington DC the following day... I figured it would be a stronger play for interest on the package to come from Post Office brass in DC vs. coming from me a local customer. I also figured that tampering with delivery updates might be a no no and i wanted DC to check and see if the locals had messed up. Interesting thing.. within 3hrs of calling DC a local post office truck shows up and drops my package. This was NOT the route truck.. it was a special delivery made by somebody doing clean up duty. ... hmmmm ? Moral of the story.. nobody cares about your package like you. If you've got trouble, call the guys who have a say on whether somebody gets a raise or a promotion. 2 weeks ago I shipped some collectable coins from an Ebay sale via USPS .. 5 envelopes packaged identically and the local guys managed to rip one open and Loose the coin.. I was really pissssed because I had paid to have them cancelled by hand which was an extra charge and was supposed to keep them from sending my envelopes through their automatic sorting machine... doesn't look like that happened. I had my customer send me pics of the envelope. Damage Pic: Luckily the coin was not super high value.. I refunded the guy's money but unfortunately I had no replacement for him.
  12. Yes.. 5512 was COSC certified .. 5513 was not.. thus the dial difference.
  13. The review was on it's brother the 5512 .. here
  14. i sold a Steinhart Nav B Uhr in December.. it had the Unitas movement. I took it on trade - it was the PVD version which just wasn't my taste so I flipped it. Had it been a regular Nav B I likely would have kept it.. quality is good.. service is good. They are a good independent brand. You won't find many negative reviews on them. I would recomend them.. their Vintage look divers are cool.
