  1. Abramovich usually wears a 50 USD Polar watch. Yes, even with a suit. Multiple US football players have been spotted with Panerai reps with tourbis. How much money someone made, has nothing to do with style or taste or how much someone is going to spend for a wristwatch..
  2. Nice, what is the size on the JLC Tourbi? I've read 44 and 38mm..
  3. Looks like the watches they sell on the homeshopping channels for 99 Euros (discounted from the former price of 5000 Euros...)
  4. Ubi posting in wristcheck threads is like Shaq slamdunking at a little league basketball game.
  5. No wonder. The gen pearl looks like sh*t, too. 2700 Euros?
  6. Is this thread sarcasm or does this Dior abomination exist in the real world?
  7. This one? http://uhrforum.de/audemars-piguet-royal-oak-gelbgold-edelstahl-bicolor-no-2385-gebraucht-gelegenheit-t103211 Do you really want to pay 1600 Euros for an abused piece that will need a full movement service, complete refinishing, a new crystal and still have serious strech in the bracelet just because it says AP on the dial?
  8. Mate, compare the bracelett of the first gen AT and the current AT. This is the bracelett from the first gen AT, not just the wrong clasp. It's completely different, other than both are made of steel. All they did was take a bad rep of the first gen AT and put a teak-dial in it.
  9. Oh boy, it really is no wonder how you got to that post count in that short time. Let me recap: You're not telling who the dealer was or which customs were involved or anything usefull, because you are afraid your government is stalking you for buying a rep and you might attract attention to yourself , but yet are perfectly fine posting generally a lot and disclosing all the information that you are so secretive about via PM to anyone who is interested. Also you think it would be wrong to name the "Trusted Dealer" on a public forum, which mainly exists so that people know which dealers can be trusted and which dealers f*ck up like on your order. I see... Makes perfect sense... Well good luck on the run, Dr. Kimble.
  10. Omg... The reason why I made the "4 months member, 600 posts" comment is, that the OP tells a story about what happened to him, to "warn others", but doesn't say in what country it happened or what dealer was involved. His reason for this secrecy is as he states, that he wants to protect the dealer and himself and "keep a low profile". 1. If you don't tell the dealers name, no one will be able to take ANY care when ordering from him. 2. If you don't tell what country you are from, the people who REALLY should be concerned will not expect ANYTHING like this to happen to them. 3. if you want to "keep a low profile" making more posts in a couple of months than others make in several years is NOT the way to do it. When you are that far out, you really think that keeping your country a secret is going to do anything? Do you think the feds are on to you, now that you bought a fake watch and will scan the internet for some dude who comes from your country? Without giving ANY information this thread serves no other purpose than getting your story off your chest. Not helping anyone, really. IMO. No need for all new members to come out and act all offended.
  11. Everything is completely off. They used the first generation AT rep case and bracelett. And even for that generation everything is off. Also hands are too long for the current generation. And I haven't even checked the other pictures on Sillix' page..
  12. No word on what TD was used or what country we are speaking of..? This thread is useless.. OP made 570 posts in 4 months but wants to keep a low profile by not saying what country he's from.
  13. Regarding "Made in Germany" and "Germany" on the dial at 6 o'clock: they changed back and forth in time (changed sometime around 2005-08). Same goes for "Nomos Glashütte" (now) and "Nomos Glashütte S/A" (old) at the the 12 o'clock position (changed early 2000s). Lugbars where screwed at first, then they switched to springbars. Regarding the caseback: The only caseback that gets screwed on is used on the Nomos Club which has a water resistance rating of 100 M. On all other models (30 M) the caseback is either snap on or held by 6 tiny screws. I'm not sure about the Tangomat but all the handwound models like the Tangente come with optional closed or see-through casebacks (+~250 Euros if you want a see-through caseback.. LOL). The writing on the caseback varied in time. All the watches come on Shell Cordovan straps. (Cordovan imported from the US company, not the less expensive japanese one.) The Glashütte on the dial really means nothing more than that the company is located in Glashütte. It's a company from the 90s that tried to cash in on the Glashütte image. They started using Peseux movements and later on came up with their own movement which based on the Peseux. The automatics were completely designed by themselves though (and they are priced accordingly...). Unfortunately not only are they overpriced but went a bit overboard with the size on the automatics (imo). If you can live with 30 M water resistance and are looking for a 36/35mm handwound that uses a kind of unique movement, Nomos makes real nice dress watches that were priced accordingly around 5 - 10 years ago and that are favored by many German politicians. In the range of almost 3000 Euros for some of the Automatics there are too many alternatives though (imo) unless all you care about is the movement not being ETA. But then you could still get a cal. 8500 from Omega or a pre owned Rolex. (Although someone considering Nomos probably has no interested in a Rolex.. )
  14. Go to the official Bell and Ross page. They have print-outs of their watches that print 1:1. You just cut it out and wrap it around your wrist and will get a very good impression about the size. Of course the height might still be an issue. I also recommend you do this with other watches. Just find a picture of the watch in question that was shot from the top, print it out a couple of times while playing around with the scaling until you get a print where the size matches the real deal. Cut it out, put it on..
  15. I'm really not seeing why someone who spends most of his time in tailored clothes as an undercover special agent, moving around in high society places, would want to run around with a 46 mm clock strapped on his wrist like he just came back from the jersey shore.
  16. Hehe, thanks. Yeah, various Rolex 34 and 35/36mm models afaik. Someone on WUS put it pretty good. Something along the lines of "the AT is a tough watch with an elegant design, just like the new Bond is a tough guy in a tailored suit".
  17. Apparently DC didn't want to wear the 45mm PO at all in Casino Royal because he thought it was way too big. Wouldn't be suprised if that was the reason for them to swith to the SMP later on. After all they didn't do a switcheroo in Quantum. I've got to say, the 38.5 AT was not something that I did see coming, but I think it's fits the character a lot better and is more consistent with the books if I'm not mistaken.
  18. Let me get this straight: You said you were looking for "the best sub" but were disappointed because none was close enough to gen. TC Sub is 500 USD without the insert and is the closest to gen sub you can get at the moment, takes every gen part and is located in the US. Your answer is that it is "not for you" and also too expensive. But 400 USD for another one would be OK.
  19. The only Skyfall shot where you can't clearly make out that it is an Aqua Terra is the picture from the pool scene. And even there it looks more like an AT than a PO. There's not HE valve and the bezel is too thin..
  20. Maybe read the first three sentences again mate..
