It's a nice topic because before it i don't know that the bezel is screwed using the inner ring and the case back.
This forum is nice.
I am always lucky to know more about vintages one.
Now i want this case ! i have too many projects for the new year, with a lot of project it will be a very nice year
The only point who need to do mod is the bezel, too thin for a kampfschwimmer one,ok for a cali or a painted lume one, like late war; you know what i mean VDB ? i know you are enough lucky to have one
If someone know where i can find a case like it let me know.
I wish men a merry christmas !!!!!!
Now i need to go , it's time to
-
Joyeux Noel mon ami et je te congratule pour ton projets!
Merry christmas and a happy new year to you
And i agree with VDB, a vintage section can be nice for us!
For the next year ?

Screwed bezel ? i think no watches are made like it. maybe some rare model but no panerai; the only one Panerai screwed is the big egiziano but by back to top with six screws.
Bezel on a 3646 is only pushed in place by force, with a external lead sealing.
You can see it on vintage side pics.
Hi can someone tell me the measurement of case, bazel movement, all the watch.can you say me if the original bazel is screw on the case or inside? -
The gen vintage 3646 case was realy handmade, in small quantity, so you will never found two with the same dimensions, or type of lugs.
Lugs are made by hand using a plier, you can see the marks on it,
The first have more squared lugs(like on cali dial)()1938, after more long and round (1943),after more short (1944),
The bezel height depend on the type of dial, sandwich or not.
Hi can someone give me the measurement of complete case, bazel and movement of 47 mm radiomir pan 1940. -
M, i don't ear from you for some time, it's nice you are always here
i have try the acetate insert late summer, i use a "mica", a vintage plastic based on celuloid from the 50's, yelowish when aged, the effect is nice, and like you say close for the Pape's dial, probably close to the vintage construction.
the problem is to find a correct insert color; i will use a clear one for my next base cortebert.
And yes, this dial are realy beautiful and the thin thickness is perfect to adapt differents way to use it.
Thanks Ross. Another powerful and useful tutorial.Your dials are perfect (thank you so much for your offerings).
And since the brass plate thickness is very thin you opened the way (voluntarily or involuntarily :-)) for another great step on vintage dials...
Finally I got some spare time to dedicate myself to the projects and spent the whole afternoon with the dials you sent me.
I am preparing new 6152 projects (Angelus mvmt) for two good friends and slowly preparing the cases, dials and straps.
The wonderful thing about your dials is that you can insert a thick acetate roundlet between both disks and the effect of a resin filled dial is reached perfectly (without resin!!!).
Results are beautiful!
I wish I had a camera now to post some pics. You can even create the cracking effect with an x-acto blade and easily reproduce a dial like, for instance, Pape's Radiomir...
I will b in London on January and will take some stuff with me. Hopefully I will take the vintage straps for you and Simon if they are ready.
A merry Christmas for you all!
M.

Good luck with the conversion of the plates, and let me know if you need anything to pull it off!
You have a PM
More pics of movement this evening, and i will probably changed a wheel if the movement stop to run(i don't wind it since saturday) for the high polished one as i prefer it !

Thanks for the nice comments,
I will do more pics of movement this weekend and a drawing who will explain how made the second hand as a lot of members ask me for it;
For the next year, you will be very surprized by the model i plane to madebecause no one have yet made this model, and i will need to full made the case myself but cchhuutttt... at this time it's a secret, i just find how do it today

Hello all,
Here i am happy to show you my new vintage i just achieved late weekend.
i have worked on it for the last 2 months, taking my time to do with the bestest finish i can do.
A special thanks to RMC for the big help he give to me a lot of time and make my dream come true by realizing the engraved dial i have in mind for lot of time; thanks also for Dadog for his help, i will not forget it.
First, the pics on the gens i like, this one was in my head for the last two years since i have see it on risti site :
And others gen pics i like :
So now , pics of mine
First, the dial, it was delivered free of paint, as i wanted, so i paint it using airbrush, resin filled the indices, filled the Marina Militare and Gruppo Gamma with white paint, do the lume, and of course, aged it.
"Gruppo Gamma" is the name of the combat group of the decimas mas in the world war two, a lot of his members was always combat swimmer after the war and instructor for the new group of combat swimmer like for US, Italian or French army, or the kampfschwimmer of the german army.
This dial is of course never be use , but it is a custom one i would like to have a 4 lines dials without the Panerai branding, a big big thank again to R. to have made it for me.
The indice are filled with resin only half the deepnest of the indice holes, like gen as they never be totally filled:
Case was slimmed, rounded, polished,
Lugs modded to be accurate to gen, very thick,
Single side spring bars i custom made, but it appears for a talk i recently have with a friend that even if lot of book talk about spring bars, gens use the more of time bars without spring, like pin on a bracelet, so don't know but i prefer my springs bars one because i can change the strap easily,
Crown guard modded and better finish made, brushed with polished edges, new big axe made of stainless steel,
Thick domed plexi i reduce in diameter to 41mm to 40mm (with a knife!) and little reduce in height,
Case back i sterilized and brushed in circle, and put on it a dommed plexi back,
Hands relumed as the gen luminous was too fragile and don't want felt off on movement,
High pin made for the second hand and relumed.
Serviced Angelus 240 like new finish, with incabloc instaled, with removed alarm part (you can see a pic of gen on top with this same removing alarm part) ; but my movement will be converted in a non alarm one with a new plate i will made in the next weeks.
Custom brass ring for movement ( thanks again a lot V. )
Stem retapered to fit the crown tube,
Crown tube changed,
GPF buckle with a better finish and new tongue made,
Strap is a Simona one i mod and change the buckle for the GPF one,
A new strap will be made in the next week, like gen with the same construction.
Here my pics :
Hope you like it,
Let me know your comments !!!
(For my next project i search cortebert, rolex 618, angelus stem wind and key wind, angelus parts, fiddy crown, so feel free to contact me if you have parts for sale )
-
PM sent
Hi G.,i have them. I can send you a pic, so you'll tell me if it's ok with youre search. The luminous part of the hands is big one and takes close to the entire hand. The only problem is that hands are still attached on the movement and for a nOOb like me, it will take time
And of course i can give a huge huge bargain

Hello,
for a next project i search unitas hands of a 232, as i prefer this thick but short hour hand, more close to the angelus ones.
Where can i find it ? except DSN as i don't want to pay a WU only for this.
I need it before christmas if possible.
Or If someone have it for sale let me know , even without lume is OK.
Thanks for all

I remember a few months ago, a guy on eBay had original NOS 6152/1 CG's unassembled. I can't find the pictures right now, but is this one?! I'm amazed by the movement - did you add the incabloc in yourself?
Nice job S. !
The dial is custom made, right ?
The CG too i think ?
The non alarm one is the perfect movement for vintages pam.
RMC, the crown on ebay this summer are not this one, i think i have again a pic on my PC, theire are less thin, and without the hole for the screws or the lever, and the seller sold it for 1500usd each ! not a good deal if you buy it for mod to be useful.
I realy appreciate the engraving, close to gen because very thin.
Maybe a pic of dial VDB ? or are you realy cruel ?
-
I have yet do the same : only use duck tape, you put it on letter and remove it very quickly and fast; it will remove only the white letters; you will need to do it maybe some time before the letters will go attached on the duck tape; i do it on a 44mm luminor that i would like turn in a sterile dial;
Hope this help
-
I think i have an idea of what i will do this weekend...
SWEET!!! Can't wait to get my dials. And hey, what about that tutorial, R?
-
Not me; i don't want to take the risk to bid for 2500usd for a man who even not answer to my questions.
But it will be nice if a man here can win it for a nice price.
Good luck men !!!
-
here choose one
http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t320/to...ge%20movements/
i have not update this collection but have 20-30 more
So i choose one of the 2 ang without alarm, i let you choose the one
Nice collection !
But if maybe you realy want to sell one, a "more" common one, i will be interested in the "angelus 240 UK 2"; PM me if interested in sale.
-
I bid too.
but i agree with T of beware for italian seller.
i have ask the seller a question, 2 times in the next 3 days, asking only for diameter of caseback and price of shipping; never answer.
Don't be sure i will try to spent/loose a lot of money in it.
so good luck
A Rolex movement will be nice too for me, maybe even better;
if someone here have Rolex or Cortebert, or angelus movement for sale let me know, all type welcome, with or without alarm, with decoration "cotes de Geneve" or just flat, stem wound or key wind; i am OK for trade or sale.
give 4x angelus hands in varios design...yesterday i cannot say for exactly movt
chance 50%-50% but price moderate and def a good movt but the another auction next days 100% price high
-
i have mix up something
the auction is going on... but with this promotion it will goes for a high price. And i am not ready to bid some thousands $$$$$
c
-
hmmm
something is going wrong because the auction is closed earlier?
but i am not the buyer
Buyer it's not me as i even don't know about what auction ended you talk; can you give me the item number ? by PM if you want.
-
hmmmm interesting?
my source is not on ebay... but now will have a look
An other source You realy are the man for this vintage movement ! Bravo ! Maybe more easy to source in Germany ?
Don't waist your time, you will find nothing on ebay for the next 5 days and 2 hours ...
I will send you a PM
-
nice...
is this a bruno strap?
ready is a nice angelus 6152/1
very good work
the pic is a repro...i`m sprechless
exactly same watch and the dial reworked in this pic
wot is this for a guy and wot is the finish with this???
Yes VDB, i was sure you will know it's a Simona bruno strap; you have good eyes man
About strap, i mod it by mod the edge, seems more rought now, mods the keeper assembled as a gen, and of course change the buckle and sewn it again; the buckle are from S. , i just do a better finish, and made a new tongue like on gen, here apic to show it :
About my case i just wait for the new run of dial from RMC, and i will asemble it ! i am so impatient to receive it !
About retouched pic, what i can say is i like my rep selfmade as a gen, as with a gen i never be sure it is "full" gen, never mod; as like i say before i am very surprise that now half of pics of vintage calling as "gen" have a ang240 motor.
but maybe i say it because i will never have enough money to buy a gen vintage...
Like you, the one we make, is the one we prefer to wear, always good choice no ?
-
100% base angelus...
Are you sure this pic is good, or retouched ? i have the same pic from months on my homecomputer but it has the subdial :
just to let you know guys, I am the third one in the game...and I am ready to spend a little fortune to get it!
Yes, i think that we are a lot here who want it and who are ready to spend a fortune for it
And i have achieved my new case and strap for it so i realy need this motor ; case are a lot of mods, slimmed and rounded, thick plexi, new CG and lever axe, plexi domed back, and Rolex type single side spring bars ; so a good idea will be to put it in my case, no ?

The 4-liner pictured is a redial with 'Officine Panerai' added at a later date, along with a new second hand. The Club Panerai forums have it for sale at the moment, with a little history included - so whilst it is rare, it is not original.
Yes, not all original, and with this brushed case i don't like.
i am always surprise about angelus vintage pam, because 4 years back 95% of the vintage you can see have Rolex movement but the holy grail for all fans are the ang powered ones, and from the last two years 50% of pics you find are from angelus pams; so too easy to mod a gen vintage one ?
yes and i think many ``GEN-Vintage`` panerai`s is not all original...many features later installed and the italian guy have big fantasys for this...
i think the good vintage panerai works here in the forums is not worse
Yes, we can be proud of our work, and honestly i better like my vintage "rep" than the most of the current Panerai available
-
I hope to see more pics of this alarm one.
Please VDB and others, post here pics of base dial with angelus,
i will do the same when back at home.
About pics on the volker site last year, i don't remember to have see one with alarm movement.
i hope to have pics on my PC.
And about book, all vintage lovers need it, a very nice one ; mine is now very use as i read it a lot during this year
A problem i cannot understand and solve !
in Movement Q&A
Posted
Hello all ,
i have a problem with a movement (an angelus 240 with sec at 9, serviced and like new, that i have put in a watch) that i cannot understand :
sometime the hour and minute hands stop to moove but the second hands don't stop to run and the movement continue to run also.
How is it possible ? i cannot understand how 2 hands stop and not the second one and the movement continue to run.
When movement was deliverd i put hands on it , wind it to be sure it work Ok but i notice that after some minutes the hands stop to moove, so i discover that during shipping the movement was damaged, the minute wheel was bend (but not the inside pin) so i change it to a new one and also change the hour wheel; all work perfectly for two weeks, i wear the watch all days, but yesterday i noticed that the hands stop again;
Maybe just not perfectly cleaned ? or a dust inside ?
i have dissasemble the watche again , to be sure that all screws are correctly screwed, and assemble it again, all work nice for the past 20 hours but i would like to know what was the problem as i would like to wear it with trust;
I have an other ang240 i will send to tourby to service it in january but if possible i would like to solve it myself as i don't want to fully dissasemble it again.
i hope one expert here can help me,
Thanks for all !!!
