  1. bump, the date change acts like this: Video link: http://vimeo.com/79497065 password if needed is repgeek Starting at the 29th. 29 @ 6 29 @ 12 29 @ 12 29 @ 12 29 @ 11 date change Then at 30th. it just keeps on going several times before the date changes.
  2. Im having some issues with my Diver v3.5 with both winding and the date change. First of, the watch does not seem to wind as it does not start when Im winding the crown. The characteristic winding sound is present, but the seconds hand does not move. The watch runs when I give it a shake and wear the watch. Second, when setting the time the date does not change at 12. The interval of the change can be anywhere from 24-36hrs. Sometimes it changes at 5-6am (or at least I think its after when its supposed to change), but frankly I have no idea whats what with this atm. Its very confusing and such a shame as this watch is indeed the most beautiful piece Ive owned. The date change mechanism on the crown works as it should. Please, some advice would be appreciated. I have also made an enquiry to Domi asking if this is something he can adress. Thanks alot, and have a good day and weekend everyone! Cheers
  3. I made a similar thread on my vintage seamaster over at RG. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=209581 Serial number should be printed to the movement, and you should be able to find the production year (+-1) on the database mentioned above. I recently delivered mine to my watch smith to have the movement overhauled, case polished + new crown, crystal and strap. Should look pretty awesome once its done. Good luck with yours!
  4. No hijacking, but is there (or interest for) a league at premierleague.com ?
  5. wow, great write up. I myself own the WM9 v1, and this actually enlightened me alot. thanks alot!
  6. Having bought an Omega PO 42mm as my starter rep and a WM9 franken 16610 later of, I have gotten the feel of this game and I want to explore the opportunities of the APs. I have had my eyes on these for a while now, and been reading alot both on here and rg. I have gotten the impression that the v3.5 diver is a good starter, I will definitely get one of those down the road (as well as the FC diver as soon as all is sorted out with that one, lol), but I am hopelessly in love with the ROO safari right now. Can anyone please enlighten me if there are different versions and makers of this? If so, which is the better one? Im also interested in some input regarding the rep strap, and if its a good investment getting another higher quality strap. This thread, http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/153234-ap-royal-oak-offshore-safari-the-review/, had me interested. This safari looks absolutely stunning, and is somewhat what Im looking for. Is this the piece the TDs are currently offering? The hornback strap displayed there is also magnificent. Is there a way to buy straps from mr. Jacob strapmaker? How do I get in touch with him? Are these the same watches from the dealers? Toro: http://www.torobravos.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_50&product_id=117 Trusty: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=241_243&products_id=3399 PT: http://puretime.co/product/royal-oak-offshore-ultimate-edition-safari-white-dial-on-brown-leather-strap-a7750/ Also, is this the same strap as the above are equipped with? http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=241_242&products_id=3466, if not, would it be a decent replacement? All replies are appreciated and welcome. Thanks alot in advance!
  7. yeah Im really glad I got my hands on a WM9 as they are imo the better 16610 rep out there. And the gen insert compliments the watch also replacing the WM9 pearl which I think could have been better. As I never wore an Oyster bracelet before I have now learned about the feel and how light they are. Thing is its very snugg and I have no spare links so Im looking to buy another one. Preferably a TC or WM9. Anyone gots?
  8. Just got my first ever Rolex Sub today from a fellow member and wanted to share some thoughts and photos. specs: WM9 v1 Swiss ETA Domi lume/service Gen insert Modded CGs and BK custom crown Centered datewheel WM9 v1 bracelet First impression is wow this is a comfortable watch to wear! I have worn a 42 PO as my daily beater till now, and this feels like wearing a bracelet made of flowers in comparison. One note on the bracelet tho (WM9 v1), I think it feels a little light weight. Is this the normal standard for these oyster bracelets? Also beeing light its a bit flimsy or what should I say.. I really would like a more sturdy bracelet as this kinda feels as if im gonna brake it if I flex my ginormous wrist muscles lol. Cheers!
  9. I once saw this watch with the correct logo, not sure if it was applied or printed. About the date font, I went a bit ahead of myself. Its acrually not that bad. Its the cal16 date only that has a horrible date wheel.
  10. As far as I know, you cant get the cal16 daydate with the proper applied logo. I have seen people who changed the screws in the back and also swapped the datewheel which imho is the bigger gamechanger. Current date font is not good.
  11. yeah, the color is horrendous combined with the orange bezel. I have now been offered the orange leather strap with deployant clasp, which imh looks way better then the rubber. Also this time I will be provided with QC pictures so that this mistake will not occur again. The brown strap pictured above is free for whoever wants it lol.
  12. yes. Im not gonna provide his name just yet as he has come back offering a second replacement, which is honourable. For some reason I feel bad about all the hassle Im putting him thru because of a strap, so I suggested I buy something else from him, and he'd provide the new strap alongside the new merch.
  13. yeah, so now the dealer has responded to me telling me to cut the steel bars, and yes, according to him its very easy. wtf?!
  14. As my buckle on my bracelet arrived defected when I got my watch I was promised by TD a new one, and decided to go for the rubber strap. Upon arrival I conclude it has nowhere near the correct color, and also on the end of the straps there are some bars sticking out. Whats this? My watch head has no holes for them to fit into. Havent gotten any reply for a week now from dealer. This should be a case of replacement right? Its actually even browner then it appears. Should be bright orange.
  15. I have recently begun to interest myself with rolexes. Previously I always thought that there were only ugly and crappy copies of these, and have never bothered to put myself into it. Now, however, through this wonderful resourcefull forum, my interest has grown, and Im looking to eventually aquire a decent sub. My question is quite simple. When you look at the insert of the submariner, often the pearl is either flush (not totally) with the insert (eg. omega PO), or it's pointy. What determines this, what is correct (I assume both?)? I see both gen and rep have different style pearl. A little lecture would be of much appreciation! Cheers. Non flush pearl: Flush pearl: Also, adding these pics I just noticed they are totally different inserts and the missing rehaut engraving. Are they separate models?
