  1. Rayban Caravans, lightweight and comfortable with good optics.(and they don't drive me nuts while wearing an aviation headset) They look cool as well.(at least to me ) But I'm old.
  2. Did you not get a confidential pick up number from WU that you had to send to the TD so he could pick up the funds?
  3. Looks like we have another shill here in member "irwgrev"
  4. I picked one up for my daughter a while back.(25 yr old) Within 1 month she had cracked the bezel insert.(I UV glued it together again) The crown would no longer screw down after about 7 months.(I don't think she ever set it after I set it for her) Less than 1 year in her hands and it was not worn every day. My daughter may just be hard on watches. P.S. It still runs and sets fine.
  5. Best wishes for your daughter Nanuq. My daughter is a wildfire tech(fire fighter) here in Northern Ontario, her crew has been put on alert, for possible deployment in Alaska. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for a safe future for both our daughters.
  6. The pearl fell out of his replica and he is having a cow over it, even though Josh is going to send a replacement. Evidently he picked the wrong hobby.
  7. A hard question to answer, all my reps are in rotation and don't get a lot of wear. I have12 or so now. (have owned around 25) I am also quite careful when wearing them and leave any rough activities to my gen Deep Blue,G Shock or Luminox type watches. I have not had a failure yet.(touch wood) Mind you I have never kept a A7750 movement watch long enough to have it fail(several Pam GMT's) Never bought any A7750 chronos either. My longest owned rep is about 4 years, and is one of my most accurate timekeepers. An Omega UPO.(Swiss movement)
  8. Interesting, I have not seen one with the plastic insert. Please let me know if you come up with a plexi replacement source. I would like to pick one up as well. Regards.
  9. To OP, are you sure your insert was clear/painted plexi? All the reps I have seen have had the wrong type insert made out of aluminum. I don't think the original bakelite insert is available, or would fit the rep bezel if you found one. You can get the aluminum insert from an ebay retailer. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/BEZEL-INSERT-OMEGA-300-SEAMASTER-1965-1968-SWISS-/160568670219?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2562a3780b Here is mine with a couple mods. ( I hope we are talking about the same type watch) In any case, good luck in your search!
  10. Sorry to disagree, but their roots were withering. Very few liked Panerai prior to the early 1990's. The company was going bankrupt. Stallones promotion and Richmounts purchase is all that saved them. I think the balance is swinging back there once again.(but not as far as bankruptcy) These days there will always be someone to buy them,as people bought Studebaker and Edsel.(just not enough) The fandom in the rep world exists because you can get a rep very cheap that is virtually a clone of the very expensive gen.(and may continue even if gen sales drop) As far as in house movements go,they have yet to be proven over decades of use. JMHO
  11. Sorry to hear, I hope you can come up with a fix. Its apparently on a Nato, how did it fall off?
  12. Everyone carries a pocket watch these days, they just changed the name, they call it a cell phone now. Not nearly as elegant, and even more cumbersome to carry and use than a traditional pocket watch. Progress?
  13. I have had good luck with JB weld epoxy. The Omega logo was attached to this clasp with it, and has been worn regularly.(and banged around) My skills are limited.(but it worked)
