  1. Jules Borel also carries the inserts, I know they fit or at least they fit the reps I have.
  2. The lever that Toadtorrent has highlighted with the red arrow is the beat adjustment lever, not the time adjustment lever. Unless you are an experienced watchmaker or at least have the propert timing tools to readjust the beat, DON NOT MOVE THIS LEVER, the timing lever is in fact under the winding rotor and the rotor must be removed to access the timing lever. Without proper timing tools to readjust the beat, it is a total hit and miss to ajust properly.
  3. The donation and gesture by King is certainly reconized and appreciated. However, why do we limit these raffels to a single choice, what would be the difference in the dealer offering X number of dollars credit to be used for the watch of choice by the winner. If the watch the winner wants is cheaper than the credit, we could simply call it square with the dealer, if the watch of choice is more expensive, let the winner send the dealer the difference. I can personally invision a much greater participation of raffel like that.
  4. Without a doubt, you will have much more control with the screw press.
  5. The picture you posted is the correct handstack.
  6. JCMIRO This isn't intended in a negative way, but if you can't tell that rep from a gen, you had better stay with an AD for gens or one of the trusted dealers here for a rep. Good Luck
  7. I don't know if this will help any of the members that have had trouble with the modified 2836. I had the same problem with the GMT hand stopping until I read a post by a fellow member, don't remember who or I would give him credit. Bottom line is that the 24 hour wheel will slip, its a problem with the design, however if you will set the GMT hand in the desired position, then after setting GMT hand SLOWLY advance the date until it starts to just move the date in the date window, stop before the date actually advances and turn the crown the opposit direction until the date is back in the proper position, push crown back in and screw the crown in place. This minor proceedure has reengaged the GMT hand every time I have done it, its just a habit to do it that way now.

  9. I generally don't chime in on a thread like this, but I think that the Adm/Mods deserve all the thanks that we can give them, our little community is give more latitude and freedom than most any other forum that I have been a part of, yet when the need arises, appropate action seems to be taken. The old saying "Walk softly with a big stick" My personal thanks to Adm and each and evey Mod.
  10. Bend the lower part of the clasp just slightly to take a little length out of it.
  11. http://www.mkiiwatches.com/ Expensive, but MKii has them
  12. Since when is this hobby logical? If you want to look at it from a logical standpoint, your needs would be fulfilled with two or maybe three watches and of course, to be practical, they should be quartz and not mechanical. But the point is that we are talking about wants and not practical needs in this hobby, or obsession to be more precise. By all means, if your opinion is that you need 10 watches, then collect 10 watches, if your magic number is 20, then collect 20 watches. THERE IS NO MAGIC NUMBER THAT WILL WORK FOR EVERY MEMBER!!! I personally have way too many watches in practical terms, approximately 80, mostly ETA, but I consider myself as a collector. At a time or two I have considered thinning my collection, but every time I do, I find myself thinking why do I need to get rid of this one, so I guess I
  13. madscientist18 The modified 2836 has been modified to perform the GMT function, some people have reported the same problem that you are describing. Try resetting the GMT hand to whatever time you want, while the watch is still in the setting mode advance the date, not the GMT hand, but the date until is just starts to move, then stop and reverse the winding crown just enough to reset the date in the middle of the date window, sometimes that is just enough to engauge the added gear to make the watch function properly. Give it a try, I was having the same problem on mine, works just fine after I made the adjustment. Its just a habit to do this now each time I set the watch.
  14. Excluding movement, when a watch is advertised as a 1:1, that is exactly what it should be, a true 1:1, not almost 1:1. Explain to me why our deales should be able to use a 1:1 term for advertising and its ok because, after all it is a rep., yet we openly chastie replicenter's sites for using the term 27 jewel when we all know they don't exist, why isn't that alright, after all, its a rep. I know we don't have any control over what a dealer decides to post on his own web site, but we as a community do have, or damn well should have, control over what they post on our site.
  15. Genuine date wheel will not fit an ETA movement, you have to use an overlay date wheel and glue in place on all Rolex replicas that have an ETA movement in them.
  16. If done correctly, I'm in for the mark XVI
  17. Kind of a catch 22, if we didn't buy them because of the flaws, they wouldn't make anymore because they don't sell, and if they make them with flaws and they sell there is not reason to improve, or at least not enough reason to justify the cost to improve. Simply put, the makers don't have to spend the time and efford to make the rolies and pannies correct because we buy all they make with the known flaws included.
  18. You may want to do some reseach on this, but if I recall correctly, when the discussion about thr B&R was at its height, The Zigmeister said that not only was it not a 2892, or a 2892 clone, but that a 2892 would not even fit the case of the B&R.
