  1. The english is really bad, i think it could be a nigerian scammer. If it is then everyone should be on guard because the scammer can assume anybodys identity.
  2. I have fun modding my skx to make it unique. But trying to spending 1/6th of the the price of buying a submariner on a replica is just too dear. The watch will never be reliable as a genuine rolex and you'll be forever noticing the flaws in it. Considering you can buy a very good oris or sinn watch for $1000 I would rather pick that option.
  3. so much talk of fitting genuine parts, gen rotar, gen stem, gen datewheel. Just get the gen watch better spending $6000 on a gen watch than spend $1000 on a replica with gen parts put in.
  4. Hi I think squale, kiger, ntk etc are just overpriced. Kiger touches $1000 for a complete submariner knock off. It's a bit silly paying that sort of price for an unoriginal design, I'm sure the workmanship is excellent and all that but come on, for that some of money you can get a completely original swiss watch from a respectable brand like hamilton or oris. I was more thinking of black/grey market watches like parnis which will sell you direct from china for £150 tops (around $180). Or better sub $100.
  5. Hi I'm looking for a sterile dial submariner to buy, im guessing parnis. Unfortunately parnis is so varied and differs so much from seller to seller that I have no clue where to buy from. I'm not into reps, I have cleared out my rep collection and gone into seiko, oris, hamilton etc. But I do love the submariner look especially the smaller 40mm versions. Anyone know a source that makes high quality reproductions?
  6. Please don't threadcrap on someone sale thread, if you dont like it move on. Dont be a smart [censored] and try to put other buyers off. It is a good base, perfect dial and perfect datewheel. The rest cant be worked on.

  7. Hi. My unidirectional bezel has turned into a bi-direction bezel with clicking gone. This is due to my fidgeting habit, I have burnt it out and broken the ratching ring. So need a replacement, trouble is I have no idea where I can get it here in the UK. Or what it is called so I can search online for a seller.
  8. The seiko monster (my daily) has left me with dark marks on my hand as the crown pokes inbetween my wrist & forearm. Basically digs into my skin. Looking for another confortabkle seiko that has a better designed crown (perhaps on the left than right) and is simple (date & time only, no chrono) I prefer auto movement ofcourse, not kinetic. Thanks
  9. I'm surprised to see this thread here at all. Why is a rolex worth £2K and a seiko worth £100? Both more or less the same technology - it's just the value end users put on the watch.
  10. thanks for the watch blog list, they'll be useful for content network ads - to be honest I'm not too hung up about the bidding on competitors names - the CTR is poor because the searching is obviously looking specifically for that brand so it's not a highly effective target. But if the competitor brand is close enough - it may just work. I'm just going to go for the most well know competitors maybe just 15-20 of them Stowa: where I am - I see very little stowa watches for sale in google shopping. maybe it's the bias in my geographic and not many are sold here. I see maybe 3-4 used stowa watches beinnd solid fro $150 to $300. maybe the retail for $1000, I don't know. In any case the competitor brand has to be well known enough (like tag heuer, rado, victorinox) that it has lots of searches - as in thousands of searches every day.
  11. a true watch afficianado I see. The trouble is to make it worth my while to create competiting ads for these brands and monitor the ads in future, there has to be sufficient volume of traffic for them. A lot of these are not very well know and have very little presence in Google sdhopping which leads me to think they're not very searched for, ocean 7 - little web presence (LWP) helson - LWP zinex - LWP (only 1 on google shopping) armida - LWP mkii - comes up as a model than a make (tawatec mkii, tng sailmaster mkii etc) lumtec (seems like a little known watch fan watch (PAM homage) - wouldn't be suitable for my use. bathys - LWP benarus - LWP boshett - LWP dievas - LWP magrette - LPW stowa - mostly $150 (too low end)
  12. some higher end invicta do go for that price point, but the average price is $300 for them Ok time to come clean. I'm a PPC freelancer. I help businesses advertise on bing and yahoo and google. I'm doing work for a swiss watch company, which was pretty interesting being a watch fan. So I was trying to hide the big grin on my face when the client called with the enquiry. I'm going to bid on the clients close competitors. so when the a user searches for a close competitor on the search engines - my client's ad will come up. So it's important to get the "competition" right. Not too higher end and not too low end - just right. I've shortlisted these close competitors: One of them is my client, guesses will not be entertained, so dont bother. What do you think? accutron esq gucci hamilton movado nixon nomos oakley oris rado revue thommen tag heuer true victorinox wittnauer seiko - most go for $150, so wouldn't be right market. citizen - is slightly lower end, some do fetch near the $1000 mark but most are $300 range
  13. Is there any where I can get a comprehensive list of watch brands around the $1000 mark? talking of which is there a full list of watch brands anywhere that I can grab from. Need it for research purposes. Thanks To start this is some of the ~$1000 watch brands I've found wittnauer nomos oakley tag heuer movado rado victorinox
