I am in Texas so my law is the government can kiss my ass and they can have my watches when they pry them from my cold dead fingers.
...or when you run outta ammo LOL

i think this is the most important question regarding this movement...i'll buy this one after 6 months or more when i'll read more reviews about it...paying 400$+ for a rep that has maybe a questionable movement is just too much for me at the moment...
+1. I'm still waiting for the first reviews. Love the Big Number Bentley but won't buy blind...

Congrats. No doubt one of the most unique pieces available. Big dilemma between dial colours for me.... Enjoy and don't be afraid to post more pics!

Just do a quick search on the word "addiction" and see how many friends you have here. This is the AA of watches.

V,
The Nixons somehow feel like wannabe watches. Just can't get into them at all. Here's the disaster they tried to push on me: http://www.streetmachine.dk/news/1172665820.jpg . Reminds me of a Miami art deco piece in the early 70s... like something in the Woody Allen movie, Sleeper. Don't much care for the one you showed me either. Just not my style.
APs... thanks for the compliment on taste, but I'm the kind of guy who will wear a black Metallica T-shirt with my AP LOL. Anyway, first time I saw Euno and Ubi going nuts over the Genta designs I just didn't get it either. Like everyone here says, they seem to be an acquired taste, like the PP Jumbo. To some, they at the top of the Most Wanted list of the Fashion Police, but to others they are the ultimate classics. There's a dichotomy with their designs because they're clearly dated on the one hand, and timeless on the other. Just wish we could go back in time and make the AP Jumbo a bit larger...

If it makes you feel any better, I had a 3717 moment on Tuesday night. Sushi dinner with the wife, me wearing my suave and sophisticated pilot chrono on SS bracelet. I noticed a few knowing eyes identifying the wrist-wear. Mid conversation, instead of chopsticking the intended piece of caterpillar roll, I took the entire ball of wasabi and popped it into my mouth like the idiot I am. It was not pretty. Everybody at the restaurant seemed to be staring at me as I gasped and grabbed for a cloth napkin. Having discarded what was left of the wasabi into my napkin, I then proceeded to knock my Sprite all over the other two sushi dishes. I walked out of the restaurant with Sprite all over my groin area.
Last time I attempted to serve someone birthday cake I dropped it on the floor. I honestly don't know how I got so far without getting hit by a bus...

Love that Oris ti. Nice! Seiko divers are terrific. I have a 200M professional quartz kinetic (whatever that technology is called that charges the quartz battery...). That thing has gone through a massive beating and is probably still working. Only real complaint (apart from no sweeping seconds) is the thick, gaudy outline they put around the day-date window. Those new Seiko divers are gorgeous, with a much more subtle outline. Great bangs for the bucks. Good post - thanks.

Should pop right in (albeit tightly). Remove the crystal retaining ring first! Then slip the crystal on, then place the crystal retaining ring over the crystal. The impermeability here is achieved by having the crystal retaining ring firmly pressed down onto the case.
Cheers
Thanks Euno!

Can someone tell me if this aftermarket crystal just snaps right into place, or requires spacers and other pieces to fit the MBW 1665? I'm guessing it just fits right in...
Thanks

If the allegations are true, the guy is a piece of trash. What really irks me is how his teammates tried to back him up by saying that punishment for cruelty to animals is disproportionate to the crime. Vick is accused of hanging, drowning and electrocuting animals. What kind of sadistic lunatic does stuff like that? The guy has a contract for 130M, and this is what he does with his money.
If he really did this stuff (I'm always cautious about the so-called criminal justice system), I hope to see the episode of Cribs County Jail where a limping Vick shows viewers where his "operations room" is located.
PS: think of how many watches you could buy for 130M

Yep, he got the taste for it after visiting Jackie Kennedy's home there one summer (God, all roads lead back to that incomparable woman, don't they...).
Love to buy my boyfriend one! I'm also thinking of getting him a Nixon watch, which is the next best thing amongst the in-crowd, though still cheap at the moment.
Ditto! Loved the F. Scott Fitzgerald mention.
Your timing is impeccable. So yesterday I wandered into an AD (with my AP RO under my cuff) in order to buy the wife a gen ladies' watch. When we discovered that the watch she wanted didn't look as nice on her wrist as it did in the advertisements, they pushed the Nixon watches on us like there's no tomorrow. Must confess that they looked very cheap and unappealing to me. They have this rectangular men's ceramic white ~45mm watch that looks like a 70s television set. Pretty ghastly if you ask me. Very surprised to hear that these things are considered chic. On the other hand, my wife thinks my AP looks like an experiment gone wrong in the 1970s so perhaps I shouldn't be one to talk...
Yes, F Scott was brilliant. Ever read his short stories? Some of the all-time best I've ever read.

I disagree that they don't come with excellent lume from the factory. The Swiss PAM 111H and 177H have EXCELLENT lume, maybe only 10-20% duller than gen. Aside from these two models, I've found lume to be lackluster if you'll pardon the pun. My two pet peeves are lume and AR. Good luck!
EDIT: The Ultimate PO isn't half bad at all either!

Nobody mentioned that the date should be turned 90 degrees counter clockwise! Still love these reps (the latest 2006 model with correct date, that is) despite their subdial spacing. My favourite is the orange dial numbers, black bezel insert and brown gator strap (see avatar). Delicious. Haven't seen one in person yet so I wonder how bad the date wheel recess is on it. That's always a deal breaker for me...

On the off-chance this was not tongue-in-cheek, a primer.
The Hamptons are the collective name given for an exclusive area in the east end of Long Island -- most famously Southampton, birthplace of Jacqueline Kennedy, but who lived most of her childhood in neighbouring East Hampton. Notorious for their "WASP", high-society, ultra-exclusive tone, recently a younger hipper crowd have taken faster to the Hamptons like a thirsty P. Diddy to Crystal.
(In fact, I believe he owns a home there now, an unthinkable state of affairs just a decade ago)
The nightlife in the Hamptons has also benefitted from this crowd, and right now, it's the most happening place in the summer in the whole of the US (including my own neighbourhood, South Beach).
The Hamptons are vaguely analogous to Palm Beach, but the latter is a much narrower island, whose high society is as old as the hills, if equally deeply anti-WASP/Old Guard. That's also the case in the

The only thing nicer than your eclectic collection is your stunning photography. Very artistic. Well impressed...

Precisely the case with mine, TMG. Except I have a DRSD from TTK... the endlinks are stamped 503 B.
Again, I was quite surprised. Just got the watch a couple of days ago and thought, "hmm, this bracelet feels light." Finally got a minute to look at it today and saw those hollow links!
I may be wrong, but I seem to recall a some pics from Stephane a week or so ago where it looked like the date font had maybe improved as well... I best check that too!
my new 1665's bracelet is particularly light with the same B number as yours so I suspect it's the same case with mine.

Sant 100 chrono 7753 from Andrew without any question whatsoever! SF, PO, PAMs, 1665 are great, but the 100 is in a league of its own...

Oh, this place is just oozing with PAM fans. I'm one of them too. Welcome aboard

Stephane,
Congrats. Always been a pleasure reading your posts, some of which have inspired me to dig deep into the pockets. This forum really has been helpful, and it's always comforting to know that there are many other individuals around the world who share the same niche interest (OCD). Great community

Freddy, you have great taste. Daytona is sharp, Comex is way cool and you have me wondering why I went with a GW over a DR ;-)

The FF fully modded pam112h for the rest of the year...
Famous last words among this crowd LOL. Love that watch though...

When I was 17, my girlfriend Brooke had a Cartier. Two factors I'd consider if I saw a 15 year old kid wearing one of these.
One, 99% of the population won't even notice she's wearing a watch. Of the 1% who do, 99% of those won't know a Rolex from a Timex.
My thoughts exactly.

Richard,
Thanks for the review. You're a brave man for being among the first to test that movement. It's a lovely watch and I may drop a dime on that one soon. Wear it well!
