183H for me

Stuff the ferraris ( as nice as it is, no offence) Show me more of the beauty next to it !!!!!!! HUBBA HUBBA
Wish I could, but Projectologist sold that 312 long ago. She is a beauty no doubt. Have to say, though, the fit and finish of the Ferrari--irrespective of opinions on the brand--is stellar. I don't wear mine much, but it is such a beautiful piece. I can understand the brand issue so I'm not offended.

What an awesome combo. Loving it.
-
I quite like it actually. The Ferraris are great Pannies.
-
Funny you ask as we weren't watching the time and I barely had time to gobble up my sandwich.
Spot the gen?
Thanks for the post, Projectologist. We shall meet again.

Yep ,that Nato is a great idea. Please reveal your source!
For me, until I get that Nato... it's a stitchless something or other. Actually love it.
Here's a cheap Panatime oiled vintage:

Nicest one I've seen on the BP period. WOW!
-
mstate -- doesn't get any better than that. Are you on the Left Coast by any chance? I also saw Projectologist's 3646 and haven't been able to get it out of my mind since.

This is such a dream watch for me. Brilliant work VDB!
-
Holy hotness. Beautiful wrist shot. That thing just grew on me very quickly. Pin looking much better.
-
Just ordered some 242. Lost my Offshore clasp pins and I'm concerned about my 183 screws. Loctite for me for the APs and Radiomirs.

Yea, I like the LH stuff but I have my opinions of the movement.
Would love to hear your opinions on this if you have any bullet points. I'm always trying to learn from you movement nerds.
-
Nice, but do these models have lume? If so, where do they put it??
-
Brilliant -- I always learn so much every time you post. Looks astounding. Interesting bit about the pure C3 -- I didn't know that.

You'd have more chance of fooling a service technician with a Breitling rep as the gens use modified ETA movements anyway so the rep ones aren't that different, especially if you can get a decorated rotor for it. For the chrono models you'd need to scrap the A7750 and put a Swiss 7750 inside, again with a decorated rotor.
There are so few people that can tell a rep from a gen and usually they will be rep owners rather than gen owners anyway, so why bother going to all the trouble? Modding reps is about the way you feel about it not about fooling some passer by whose opinion doesnt mean [censored].
+1 - For most of the old timers here, t's not about passing off a convincing watch, but more like a fun and creative way to constantly perfect something. Call it "therapy." The results are the same, but the motives are a bit different. Just my 0,02 shekels worth of banter..

Stunners, both. I so want a VDB 3646... Cali dial really speaks to me. Wish you still had that one. Liked her at least as much as your gens!

063 with relume, Lello, Chief cyc, Savage strap, awaiting install of T-60. Love this watch.
(old lume shot before other mods)
(that 270 is insane, btw, Hike. I'm drooling)

Nice!
Thanks Chief

The LH CG is killer. No reason to replace it IMHO. Only thing I've heard is removing the purplish AR and you're done.
-
I love Savage straps

Let's get this sold!

Finally picked this one up this afternoon... wristies in the parking lot.
congrats Projectologist. Looking nice. Won't be venturing out this evening so hope you have a wonderful time. With that VDB on your wrist I'm sure you'll be walking on air.

Some pre-mod wristies....
How do you feel about new Panerai watches?

I'm not even close to being a Risti like you guys, but I think the new design incorporates enough of the historic look while leading the brand into the future. My only gripe with the inhouse movement is the apparent sunken datewheel -- I'm not sure if this is because the sandwich dial is thicker creating that illusion, or if the date mechanism is in fact slightly low. It was very apparent on the 312 I tried on. I saw a killer Radiomir at a dealer -- not sure the model number, but it had an 8 day reserve on the dial with a GMT hand and cyclops date. Gorgeous IMHO. I like the roller ball levers on the newer models -- very nice touch. I think they've made a lot of smart business decisions re the brand evolution.
