can anyone recommend a cartier ballon bleu for the wife? just straight white/silver and no diamonds. seems like they are mostly quartz around $200 range

thanks, freddy. that's exactly what i think about rep watches being in gold. so i showed her many many non-gold and 2 tone models but she wanted a gold one. her friends are no experts in any means (less so than me) so hopefully it won't show too much. same on jewelry......oh well. you're thoughts help tho very much.

i got the 3rd pic above. even wife was impressed by that one. she was not into reps but after seeing that one, she wanted me to get her a cartier tank. it's a good looking watch but the strap is cheap compared to gen but that's why it's a rep. still, very pretty and heavy on your wrist.

i like cartiers but she and her friends are old school so datejust is better to them. one more question, how is the proportion the date inside the magnifier for datejust/daydate (or other rep rolexes)? that would be another obvious givaway

she does like her watches a bit larger. i think i might have to go that route didn't knwo there was that much a different between the men, women's tank reps.

powermax, bingo! i'll have to look into the ss's. not sure about mymanmatt as i'm not looking to spend above 300. hopefully somewhere around 200-250 but i'm sure that means quality is a bit lacking. he sounds a bit expensive but i guess asking is free. maybe i'll ask him spec out something. also, i would never rip anyone off ....especially with a gift. haha. i showed her my 2 reps (tag and cartier) that i got with help from this forum and she was very impressed and asked me to look into one. her circle of friends, obviously they're not watch experts, even less so than i'm, so all they really look at is whether the 2nd hand moves correctly. she asked that i don't get anything beyond a couple hundred so i'm looking into the matter. also, another problem might be that she won't be able to take care of the watch. i mean about the auto movement and how not to set the date between 6pm and 3am(?) or something like that. so that's a concern. is there anything out there in ss that is quartz? the 2 recommendations up there by asciwhite would be perfect except she'd want metal straps. i'll start looking around at dealers' but wanted to start off here as i had 2 great buys with your helps. thanks a lot

wow, thanks guys. she's mid 60's. i think she like stainless steel straps. prefers the gold 2 tone which i don't recommend due to it peeling sooner than later. i like these two a lot tho
