  1. I am currently in love with the Patek 5227 which I would love to buy sometimes soon. After being an AP enthusiast now while I am moving towards becoming 46 years old Patek has become more appealing to me. Anyhow, while Joshua remains my best friend and replica supplier I have been introduced to what is labeled "18K wrapped". http://www.pf-818.com/pp00821-5227-calastrava-wrappe-p-18560.html The watch price has moved from around 300 dollars to 800 dollars. My question is: does it mean that the watch is now real gold or it is 87% gold or semi-gold or its just a new technology to plate with gold ? I am very confused and would like to hear your opinion on that and whether the price is justified.
  2. Ask your watchmaker to lubricate it with a silicon based oil. it will reduce the noise by a good 50%
  3. i will try this in the coming few days and might need assisstance. Will let you know. Thanks Fransesco for that useful hint.
  4. I have one of these. I tried to replace the Swiss 7750 at 9 with an asian 7750 at 12 with no luck. The watch is great and I ended up selling it to a friend at a price higher than the original I paid and after I abused it for 2 years. Today I called KING wanting another one to be told that it is no longer produced. That is a real shame because it was just wonderful. One incident happened while wearing it and I was flying business and the man next to me was a watch expert. We talked about watches and he said he loved my watch, I paniked but kept cool ... then asked me to take it off to see. He said that he loved them APs and that the old ones are better than the new ones. Out of the blue he said, Apparently AP used to make them with second at 9 and now the new ones are seconds at 12 .... much like the daytona he added .... I agreed with him and shared a glass of champagne ... I miss that watch, please let me know if they still exist somewhere or if you would like to lobby to produce 100 units and start a collective buy.
  5. Offcourse he will have to wait 3 months the way I did for my missing rotor and wrong dial which I did not receive yet. Needless to say that the bracelet is virtually shewed ( if I wasn't sure that it wont make a difference I would have send pictures) With reservation /
  6. Dear Friends, I have received my AP yesterday and was put under the microscope emmidiately. I wouldn't want to sound negative and all of my observations are mentioned out of friendship. The watch is in a silver dial although I specifically ordered it in WHITE (milk white)but again mistakes happen unless this is the best white we can get. The screws are deffected but again it is a replica and no one can replicate the axact screws unliss we are ready to pay $ 1000 per watch. The Stainless Steel is of an acceptable grade but with rough edges and the clasp wouldn't open and close smoothly. The dial marking, font and logo are wrong and above all the hand are abnormally small, freakishly wrong. Beside that after wearing the watch for 2 hours it stopped and I took it to a watchsmith (a friend) who oppened it to find out that it did not have a rotor ???? yes indeed it was missing a rotor. I had one placed and now it is runing OK (still to be observed) although the noise of the rotor is freakishly loud. In all cases, I salute Paul for the xtra efforts and the great service but unfortunately, I have to say it was a great dissapointement. In fact I was waiting for the watch because I was planplanning to order 500 watches ( and another 30 my plan is to order AP for women and have them decorated with diamond. Unfortunately this cannot be done at that stage because the sample I have received does not give my clients the satisfaction they want. By the way my watch is for sale, it has not been worn and will not be worn by me / Regards

  8. How do i get in touch with ken ? does he have a website ? / thanx

  9. Hi guys, I have been trying to give an antique look to my Vacheron white dial (wanted to make it yellowish) and I was about to use the fume of a cigarette to do that job, when my friend, a jeweller instructed me to do the following: tramp the dial in yougurt (yes) and to cover it in a cotton towel then to keep it in a dark place for 2 day. Then the dial had a great antique look with fading and yellowish look evenly distributed. Apparently that was the good job of the bacteria within the yogurt. Maybe the same can do the job for your project / regards
  10. Guys, why can't we have AP wallclocks. Maybe someone can replicate them. I could buy 4-5 if they were available. Maybe we should lobby, let me know
  11. I am certainly in love with all of the AP models, but wonder why aren't we focusing on the beautiful AP Royal Oak Chrono (non Offshore). It is obvioulsy a more classy watch and could be eawsily replicated. The second is at 6 hence the Asian 7750 used in the rolex daytona can be used. Maybe we should lobby to have it replicated. Let me know where you stand
  12. Hi guys, it has been a while My friend has the original AP Jumbo. This watch has the most beautiful caseback ever, and I am not sure if it was ever produced in solid steel back. In all cases, if it were, I would suggest we duplicate one in Quartz since the back is hidden, has no second hand and it will be more accurate and trouble free and above all we could make it slimmer (like the original). As for the dial, I would suggest we agree on which year model we want, because if we are replicating the 1973 model than the dial is different from earelier models (AP logo on the bottom and not at 12). Also, what we need to focus on is the size of the 8 scews that need to be smaller than the replica available (at andrew) with smooth edges in white gold. However, wanting to take part of what you are doing, I will order one in WHITE. Please let me know what should I do next (deposit...etc) Regards/
