  1. Thanks for all your help on this guys. Been running fine all day and like mikerblade I can only hear it when it's right up against my ear. Very happy with it.
  2. I could be confusing it with the rotor turning. It's not random rattling, it's only when you turn the watch in a certain direction and the noise is identical each time, very uniform. It's the correct time this morning so I assume that it doesn't need winding?
  3. I didn't realise it could actually be hand wound (how and how often should this be done?), I read about setting the date when the time is 5:30 so I done that but it was rattling straight out of the box. I'll give it another day or so and see how it goes.
  4. I just received a Slevin today and I just want to check a few things. First up is the movement is pretty noisy, bit grindy; is that normal for an A7750? Secondly when I slowly rotate/move the watch next to my ear I can hear what sounds like stuff moving around in there. The watch stopped ticking at one point, it needed the action of changing the time to kick it back into moving. Are any of these typical problems of the A7750? Cheers
  5. I've got a slevin on the way so I might just leave it. Is there anyone in the UK who'll service it? If it's a The Zigmeister job I dunno if I'll bother, I'll just get the slevin done.
  6. I've got a PAM217 (Asian movement), it's my first rep so if it's dead then so be it. It seems to have happened overnight, maybe it got banged in my bag or something. Basically I can set the time, wind the movement but it's not ticking away; there's not a flicker of movement. Has anyone experienced this problem? Anyone know of anyone in the UK (maybe on the boards) who fancies having a look?
  7. I'm tempted by this, I'm probably picking up an IWC this month but I was thinking about squeezing in the $130 Heritage from Silix as well. I sometimes wear my PAM217 which is 47mm. This shouldn't be too bad.
  8. Woke up this morning at around 7 and it was a pretty decent blanket. Had to pop out with the camera, didn't get any wrist shots! Didn't even cross my mind! http://www.flickr.com/photos/dponting Any more snow forecast over the next week? I've got a week off work so yes please
  9. Does precious time offer the stainless steel strap as an additional option?
  10. I really do love this watch and want it desperately, the only thing holding me back is the movement. What makes it worse is you can get a SFSO for the same/similar price.
  11. I'll have to play the waiting game. Just tried registered and subscribing isn't optional, I'd rather wait and see when someone from here gets their hands on one.
  12. Yeah, Black Seal is the pick of the bunch. Quite like the Radiomir Chrono as well.
  13. Do you know anyone from this forum in the UK who does repairs? After speaking with the dealer I've also got the option of switching it for a Swiss movement and paying the difference.
  14. Not had it recognized as a PAM but had a comment on the size. "This is a watch, that is a [censored]ing clock!" Still he said it's really nice (PAM217).
  15. It's like the crown is puling clear from the stem (or whatever the pin/tube/thing that goes into the watch is). When pulled there's a clear 2mm gap appearing, it's not entirely separate but it's not actually doing anything. I've been asked to return it (bad thing about buying from Asia I guess) for repair. Edit, here's a crappy out of focus picture of what's happening: http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/7876/dsc00683cs8.jpg
