  1. Have any idea when these will become normally available?

People who have already paid will have their HBB shipped on 26th December.

To be honest in my opinion gold hands would look much better on such a 2Tone watch - especially when hour markers which are also in dial area are gold.

V said that it came with only steel hands but I actually found an ebay auction and posted about it couple days ago with a pic of a F1 BB with gold hands.

    But you will never know.

I am not actually buying a 2Tone now so it may be that my opinion does not matter at all :)

I wonder how are these watches going to look like in real life... if the SS will be as great as it is expected to be then I will probably go for a 2Tone version for my GF.

    Cheers!

When you order, I can custom make a rose gold hand version for you.

But first of all I want to be your GF

I think it is much better to have the hands in steel like the original.

Go with the silver hands. Since this is a two tone, having the mix of gold bezel on a steel case, the dial with gold markers and steel hands seems to match better all around IMHO. I'd agree with having the dial markers and hands all gold if the bezel and case were one color. Besides, I find more credible the Hublot's president, J.C. Bivers's description of the final production of the F1 as opposed to the gold hands I see in the catalog pictures used to sell these watches on the internet. And a real production watch posted by a seller on Timezone, that is more support that the silver hands do follow the Hublot president's description as correct for the F1.

I will make them silver unless specially mentioned.

  2. Puretime - the end of December?

Yes, after the HBB are shipped, I will launch the EVO pre-order, watches should be able to ship on 2nd Jan.

Count me in the GB for a Graphite version...the contrasts between polished,

brushed and grey is mind bending... :D

By the way PT, what is the lug width on these,..? I need to have a strap ready.. ^_^

24mm, show us the evo with your strap when you receive it :Jumpy:

  3. This is the one I'm waiting for!

    Good to hear. :)

I am looking forward to this in gold. Will it be available in full gold or just two tone? Bracelet or just strap?

Two Tone, both bracelet and strap, but I am not sure if the 2Tone will be available by 1st Jan.

    :Jumpy: ME TOOOOOOOOOOOO ! :bleh:

    Xel

    :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I am sold on this! Like the grey face....maybe two-tone....count me in!

Uh, what is a group buy?

    Sorry, I'm a super noob.

    No problem!

Group buy is when a few buyers (let's say 20) tell a dealer:

    - Hey we are 20 people ordering this watch. Give us the best deal!

Hey, we were all noobs in the beginning!

I saw there were 34 people voted for "Yes, I am waiting", if there is 20 people will buy from me, a group buy will be easy.

Anyway, I may organize a pre-order for this watch, but I will only start it when the price is 100% confirmed.

The is a thread here about why a 100% rep is not avialbalbe for example on the submariner models.

On thing said is that whenever a new version of an existing model is made there are improvements on 1 side but the next say 5 version seems to have other flaws that were ok in the 4th version.

This way as is said they are trying to get business for people that wnat the newest generation.

Would this also apply to this watch here ?

The question is really why are they not making a 99.5% good rep in the first place or is it juist about keeping business going.

Sorry, you may get confused, for this watch, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd versions are made from different factories and they don't have any relationship between them. Because I have a better contact the the 3rd version factory so I can tell him what to improve before the watch is launched, I gather all info provided by the forum members and pass them to the watch maker in order to make a 99% perfect rep which does not need any improvement in the future, this would make us save a lot from chasing the new generation of the reps.

  4. Dear All,

First of all, thank you for taking part / paying attention in the HBB pre-order.

And you will also get a 10% discount on your next order.

I am again sorry for this happening and I hope you are satisfied with the above solutions, if you have any questions on this order, please feel free to let me know and I will get back to you ASAP.

  5. Got a sample PAM252 North Pole GMT from the watch maker, took 2 pics and here is the comparison, please feel free to let me know any changes should be applied on the upcoming ones so I can let the watch maker know.

    Here is the gen pic:

    171487-9486.jpg171487-9487.jpg

    1. Front comparison, upper one shows the current version, it has a shiny blue dial, sapphire crystal without AR, incorrect GMT hand (bigger triangle) and incorrect cyclops size and incorrect magnifying power. Besides, the squares and letters on bezel are quite high and there are only 12 clicks on the bezel, don't know if they should be in this way, please advice.

For the lower one, the upcoming version from another watch maker, has a non-shiny dark blue dial (near black), sappire crystal with heavy AR, correct GMT hand size (thanks Finepics for the dimensions) correct cyclop size (smaller) and correct magnifying power. Still unsure about the dial colour and the bezel letters, 60 clicks bezel. Any suggests will be appreciated.

    171487-9488.jpg

    171487-9489.jpg

    2. Caseback comparison, upper one shows the current version, the maker of the current version seems reversed the continent (should be brushed) and ocean (should be polished) areas :g:

The current version caseback does not have a serial number engraved as well (IXXX/500), please kindly send me an e-mail if you find any mistake on the upcoming version (lower one) so I can tell the watch maker to correct it.

  6. BEAUTIFUL!

Any chance of having them add the stamped rotor on the movement.

It would be a nice touch. ;)

I am sorry the maker will not make the stamp on the rotor, he said he would rather use the money to improve other parts of the watch.

Looks damn fine Angus although gold is not my thing...

Too bad about the movement holder... Do you know anything about the serialnumbers on the back of the bracelet?

Umm, no sorry, I will ask, but this one will be available very soon.

Just received the final sample of the white dial chronomat evo today, took some pics and did a comparison between the current version and the coming (my) version (upper one is the coming versio and lower one is the current version).

These have to be fixed before releasing:

    1. The stick markers will be changed to without 'stairs'.

    2. The pearl will be changed to much better one.

Please grap the last chance to suggest, thank you!

    Enjoy:

  7. This is incredible, what a watch! That AR is very good! Are the Breitlings going to have a heavy coat like this?

Yes for my coming version of breitlings

Very good words from you man. I really appreciate you are releasing this time only the ss version that is the best one.

I hope it will be avabile the rg bezel with the right caseback in the future and also the blackmagic.

    It will be very good.

Thanks Angus for all you are are doing for us.

I will also release the F1 one, but I am now asking the watch maker to make the correct caseback for the RG version, hope this can be done soon.

  8. I believe the "Black Magic" version has red seconds hand and red markings on the dial. The "All Black" version appears to have no red markings on the dial at all. You can see both versions in the "HR Pictures to Download" section of the official Hublot site. Click on "Big Bang Novelties 2006" to see the "All Black" version. The "Black Magic" version is listed below in the regular "Big Bang" section.

Yes, I can tell now, thanks!

Well these are the three cool black versions...

    1. ALL BLACK

    2. ICE BANG (better alternative of All black)

    170856-9707.jpg

    3. BLACK MAGIC

    170856-9708.jpg

Thanks for the pics, I think the only possibility is the Black Magic.

Black magic is BY FAR the coolest one. Pleas Angus, go with BLACK MAGIC!

    I will try my best.

    Caseback of the Istanbul:

    Thanks Mark!

Wow. That Black Magic model is beautiful. Ceramic over PVD case would be preferred unless the price gets prohibitively expensive....

We are also thinking about this.

    Angus,

Pardon my ignorance for asking this. On the white dial BB, what is the character in the red subdial at the 9:0clock position represent?

    Thanks

uziuzi below had answered your questions, thank you for your question.

The watch was a limited edition for the Swiss national soccer team. The symbol is supposed to be their logo or something like that. It is showing a red soccer player.

    Thanks for answering.

I hope with this delay they can change the back of the istambul with the correct engravings showed by finepics.

The istambul version will not be released this time.

First, big thanks to TwoTone for putting this back in Gen. Discussion so we can post discussions on this project. I've really taken interest as this is the first rep. I've ordered for myself in 18 months.

@RiverwindMDS, I don't think they will be able to change the movement flaws as the project already has the movement ordered from that particular factory. Probably as with our hobby, it will be months later that these movement flaws will be corrected as the later generations of this rep. appear and new movements ordered. There is a price to pay for being first up on a project such as this, look what happened with the PAM 196's, the carousel tourbillons, , especially the POs, etc., the first ones in paid a $$ penalty and accurancy penalty. But that is the way of this hobby and should not be forgotten and faults should be forgiven.

Patience is such a sin here in watchreplicaholics anonymous that we forget we will all be buying the same near perfect model (improved) from Joshua, Andrew and Angus, et. al. in the short time it takes to put out the other models based on these latest generations. Nice thing about this project, this is the first time I've been excited to participate in actually correcting the few flaws on an upcoming replica with the watchmaker through a dealer.

@trustywatchguy aka Andrew - we all appreciate all of you over there, I know maybe accolades may get misplaced as you all probably had a hand in coercing this manufacturer to make this watch with your input, but Angus has been most forthcoming with information and amazing pictures of the disassembled case that it feels he participates deeper in the process of this model rep. process since it appears he is the one who currently has the manufacturer's ear, irregardless who initiated the idea. Given dues to where due. Due dilligence where shown is my evidence. And yeah, we knew the possibility that this watch might be delayed after Christmas, Angus told us so, so no surprise there.

    Regards

What happened to this post? Somebady moved it to some where else?

    Thank you for your words:-)

Well with all those versions coming I doubt they will change the engraving on the Turkish version even if they had time ;)

I couldn't agree more with Omni.. Thanks to TwoTone for bringing back the topic to General discussion...

And Andrew, of course all our dealers do their efforts but Angus has involved us to the making process of some new watches and that was a step forward :)

The time is not enough for this time, maybe for the later models we will make it right before releasing.

This time we have not enough time because the prototype came very late.

  9. This thread is amazing. I can't wait to see some of the new PAMs that are coming. I know the North Pole GMT is on the way... I'm hoping others, as well.

This manufacturer seems to be interested in getting his products right. Very refreshing.

Thank you, the NP GMT will be further prosponed due to the lack of movement.

But there will be other Panerai is coming out, one of them is the Ultimate PAM092 Arktos, with improved case, A7750 movement, sapphire crystal with genuine AR and correct date mag.

I think its Angus who is running this great project. We have to thank him ! :notworthy:

    I should thank you!

    Great pics PT!

The one i had in the earlier pictures was indeed a (very) beat up gen, missing a chrono pusher, and a careful owner by the looks of it.

A good friend of mine has a service centre, and this is one of the pieces that has come in for fixing.

Looking (intensively and obsessively) at Angus' pics, i can honestly say that i can see NO glaring differences between his rep and the gen, movt aside.

The gen also uses a valjoux 7750 (i have seen the eta stamp under the balance wheel)

But unfortunately this rep cannot install a swiss movement inside. But the Asian 7750 movement works fine for me.

Absolutely. I like how everyone dissected the flaws. I like to know all the flaws going into a rep purchase. If I try to detect all of them by myself I always miss a fair amount. I would have never noticed the unbrushed area on the caseback.

    Thanks for posting this!

    You are welcome.

Wow, this rep definitely is worth it for the price, look at that work of art case construction! I definitely expected it to visually look perfect, but even the case construction is completely identical. I have never seen a case so complicated (Not even the AP Royal Oak), and it's just amazing how every last detail is correct on this piece. I definitely can't wait for mine to arrive! :D

That is why the watch maker disembled the watch and let me take pics, he is proud of this production.

Agreed on an awesome thread...I may have to reconsider and pick one of these up. ;)

    Thank you!

If the RG looks good on my wrist, I'm gonna betcha I'll be putting down money for the rest of the accurate versions. Damn, HBB is the new Panerai.....

haha, I believe I will have more orders from you.

    Angus,

Rather than the "Black Magic" verison, are there any plans to make the "All Black" version???

I understand both versions are the same, am I wrong?

  10. Yup, one of the few watches I "need" is a gray dial sport watch and the Yachtmaster doesn't do it for me.

And as long as we're all demanding our own personal reps, I demand the only other breitling I like, in Swiss w/ high quality red gold plating, por favor.

No, you got a good taste!

I will satisfy your need very soon, I don't have any plated case for you to see at this moment (the plated case will be damn good!!) but a 2Tone dial, this dial is still a prototype and it needs improvement. But it at least gives you a wish. ^_^

    Enjoy:

  11. Hmm.. My better half already thinks I am getting obsessed by this watch collecting lark. If I get your 3rd Ver Graphite dial to complement my 2nd Ver White, do you think that would push her from the "thinking" phase into the out in the open "knowing" phase ?

In that state I may be forced to attend one of the GTGs, stand up in front and admit that I do a bit of replica from time to time, but hey it's not a problem, I can handle it ;)

Another way to do this: sell your version 2 white and buy a graphite from me, or if you like white dial version and you cab buy both after the version 2 white is sold. :)

Bummer!!! I thought this baby would hit the streets before X-mas....

I'm very curious of the end result. Would be nice if they include the serial# on the back of the bracelet and change that ugly brass movement holder to a ss version.......

The movement holder will not be changed, I am sorry...

  12. Man, very good pictures. Is it possible to know thw versions that are coming out?

CAn you anticipate us what you two talked about?

We don't have any decision yet, just looked at the different versions and discussed which ones looked nice and what info we have now.

Wow, great detailed pics., thanks Angus. I can see now trying to fit a CF strap to this is going to take some ingenuity.

You are welcome. The existing rubber strap is very nice, quality is comparable to the genuine.

Well, it definitely has AR coating according to those pics. That is friggin great news.

Yes, it is genuine AR instead of just some blue-ish coating.

I might be wrong, but I think a lot of the early production demo models have AR, but then when they actually hit the mainstream, they don't.

I am not sure but I have never seen a prototype has AR but the final product doesn't.

Wow... I'm VERY impressed with the case construction! This is a very complex piece... Needless to say... The rep world has come a LONG way in very short time!

Angus... I must ask... Do you ever sleep?

Yes, this watch is made 1:1 from the genuine, even the small screws are made 100% same genuine, besides the movement case, everything can be installed into a genuine HBB.

Yes I do sleep, I usually sleep when most of you sleep as well, because I can reply as soon as you guys have questions and problems.

I don't think so... He's replying in the stangest times for somone who lives in china... I really like the SS version. I think I'm going only for the ss and then waiting for ceramic...

Haha, yes, I sleep at about 9:00am in the morning (GMT +8).

It doesnt bother me. I just wasnt sure if I was seeing things or not because the date font wasnt discussed in 10 pages of a thread.

I remember someone had talked about this but I forgot where it was. Btw, thank you for your opinions.
