Woot! Looks like I am going to have to re-case my 1016! Can you do custom serials on request?
-
I have an AP with the same problem. I bought a really nice strap for mine that I can't even use due to stuck lugs.

Legend, as usual, you are the voice of reason. This is not nearly worth the future problems and frustrations that will stem from opening a Paypal dispute.,
I have not one scintilla of doubt that Ezio packed that watch in the package and mailed it off to the buyer. I don't know the buyer, but it's hard to conceive that someone would risk reputation and forum(s) membership over a 350.00 USD watch. However, the human animal never ceases to amaze and disappoint me.
One thing that I do if at all possible is to insure the package for it's value. Also another reason I prefer to sell within the CONUS as packages can be insured and there are no customs, duty drama attached. It may cost me a few dollars extra to insure a package for 4-5 hundred dollars, but it sure increases my peace of mind..
I agree that a 50/50 split would be the fairest and most logical solution to the problem. I would also file a theft report with the post office, especially if the package shows any signs of tampering.

And let me add, that the watch I bought from you was the most well packaged article that I have ever purchased from ANYWHERE. A++++ Would do business again

It's nice to see the response to feedback, this is finally a Sub-C worth modding. Would be a great base for a frankenwatch.

How much modifying to the case did it take to get the movement fitted?
-
The Gunny Deep Red strap would look great on a 1016. I have one on my sub.

Justin you are the 1016 hero!

I have an aged Yuki insert I'm not using if you want it. Just pm me your details and I can send it on it's way
Thank you sir, PM sent! You have been a lifesaver on a few of my projects now!

Gentleman, I have slowly been improving on my old PT 1665. I have replaced the crown, bought a new case with drilled lugs, etc. I am on the hunt for a good bezel and a decent "vintage" insert and good pearl. Does anyone have any recommendations on these parts?
-
Might check with JMB, I have purchased ETA movement holders from him before, the brass type similar to the Raffles movement holders.

Thanks for all the compliments guys I really appreciated it. It try is a very nice build I wish I could take credit for it. I agree the insert may be genuine but it is actually too thin of a font, any help on acquiring one from Athaya? The crown is going to have to wait for a little bit but I would like to get the inserts sorted maybe even selling this one that I have now. I have a gen 702 (I believe it's a 702, no washer) that I had taken off and older Sub during a service but I am kind of apprehensive about using one on this seeing as how this one since it really should have a 700 crown. so any help on the insert would be appreciated. Thanks again for the comments.

Of course I know

That's one of my favorite combinations. I think Explorers look great on jubilees. Gen jubilee on this one here.

My chapter ring silver dial swiss engine in a 16010 gen case with all gen parts, minus tudor hands.
added a white gold bezel

The tip about the seconds hand was spot on, fixed (2) Black Bays that were dragging the seconds hand. Run like tops now!

I have (1) Whoopy 1016 dial available for sale. I bought two for a project and ended up only using one. One of the feet came loose, but I still have the foot, and it should be easy to epoxy back on to the dial or solder if you are brave.

If this is the BB Tudor rep, I have had a few in for repair due to the movements stopping, and they all turned out to be the seconds hand touching the underside of the crystal.
Thanks for confirming this, i have two that are exhibiting the same behavior and i suspected that the seconds hand was touching the crystal at around 1-2 o clock. Now I know its an easy fix!

He or someone who know him has posted here before. There was a big thread about it a while back.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of rep end links for a Royal Oak 15400? I am dying to get a nice hornback strap on my Royal Oak, but the only option I can find is the AP Straps kit, and I am not shelling out 500.00 bones for end links.

Heed what these fellows say. Sometimes a project that looks pretty straightforward, is like staring into the abyss, OK to look, but don't step over the edge!!
On problem that you find when you try to fit non standard parts in a watch, is the one problem becomes multiple problems. You fix one thing, but that fix creates several other problems. Before you know it you are compromising everything just to prove a point. My advice, if you have a watch that uses a 2824 movement, spend 99 USD for a nice brand new factory sealed Seagull ST 2130. It is pretty much and exact fit. It is a 2824 and Sellita 200 clone. Very good quality, well made and can be adjusted to COSC accuracy. And no, I don't sell them, but I have read the reviews on genuine watch forums.

This man speaks wisdom. I built three of my last projects with ST2130's that I got a killer deal on. They run, wind, and keep time as well as any of my ETA pieces do.

Ak was that the BB you sent back ?
Yes sir, it sure was. I sent two items out at the same time, one item I sold to a gentleman in Taiwan, and the other was a broken Black Bay to China and it never made it. The other one to Taiwan made it just fine. If I would have known a rep friendly watchsmith at the time it would have gone to him. Now that I know. Misekped and use his services, I have no reason to send one back again.

I always insure mine as "horological parts", I don't like putting "watch" on the paperwork, trigger for thieves and customs.
