I wanna throw in some sociological thoughts:
This would not happen in Europe, or let's say not here in Germany.
I don't know why and I'm happy that you are able to enjoy this
kind of attention but I wonder what makes the difference.
Asking unknown people you've just met in a subway about their watches
(or clothing or whatever) is rather "critical": Most people
would not enjoy this familiar talk to a complete stranger.
Seems to pretty different in the US.
Weird, isn't it?
