  1. Thanks for the tips Gentle. I bought mine from PT, but like most dealers they are only responsive pre-purchase. They have been pretty lousy when I contacted them again recently. Will try and convince them for a discount for next purchase if possible.
  2. Thanks for your reply Gentle. It feels like what you have describe is the case. I think most likely it is blocked. But I am not sure why, since the watch is almost new. When fully out, I can rotate it counter-clockwise freely as I previously stated. However, the most I could rotate clockwise is probably 1-2mm in distance - so a tiny bit before I run into resistance. When I wear it, the watch usually ticks for about 5-10mins before stopping again. The watch is on the wrist the whole time. Sounds like a faulty movement hey?
  3. Hi, Sorry for the noob question but hoping people can shed a bit more light on this... I recently acquired a rep Explorer I 114270 with 2824 movement. I am having trouble working out what is the correct way to wind this watch as I have not owned a Rolex before. I have read that it is supposed to be turning the crown in clockwise/upward direction when the crown is unscrewed. Is that correct? As mine will not allow me to turn the crown in that direction when unscrewed. However, I can adjust the time, etc by pulling crown into subsequent positions. Am I doing it right? I don't want to break anything by forcefully turning it in the recommended direction. And what is interesting is when i turn the crown counter-clockwise, I hear "clicks" as I turn. So am I loosening the spring? Or am I actually winding it but somehow turning it in the counter-clockwise direction? Really confused at the moment, so would appreciate any help! Thanks!!
  4. No, tapping it gently doesn't cause it to run again unfortunately.
  5. Haha sigh..mine so far doesn't seem to last more than 10 mins after a decent amount of winds. (At the moment, I have tried from 15 winds to 40) it seem the result varies only a little on how long it lasts. So far it's been a consistent with 5-10 mins for around 15-20 winds. So that's a faulty movement I guess?
  6. Hi all, Apologies if this question might have been asked before but I can't seem to find it via searching. I am still very new to the rep scene so please excuse my noobness. I recently received a Rolex Explorer I 114270 Asian 2824 from PT and I was wondering how many times do I have to wind the watch to get it started? Some say 20, some say 40-50 times. What I have discovered in my first day of use is regardless of how many winds, my watch doesn't seem to be ticking for very long. 20 winds, 50 winds, I noticed after 5-10 mins my watch will stop. Is there something wrong with my movement? Have I wind my watch up enough? Any advice welcome! Thanks!
  7. Sure, will keep trying! BTW, do you know if the 2824 version have different movements like Swiss or Asian?
  8. Hi DVNE, Thanks for that! I've been trying to get to the Puretime website but I have had literally no luck with their URL. Louis
  9. Hi all, First post here on RWG here and just wanted some advice in looking for a good quality, decently priced Explorer I 14270 or 114270 rep. I have been growing around RWG trying to find a trusty seller who stocks these two models but given the current circumstances with some seller's sites being inaccessible, the only place that I have gotten some luck is Trust Time. Unfortunately, I can't post any links because I am still new to this group. But if I believe on Trusty Time it is listed as ROLEXP1004 - Explorer I Swiss Eta 2836-2 I guess two questions that I would like to ask is, 1. Would this particular rep on Trusty Time the best around? Or is there something better out there? 2. Asian ETA movement vs. Swiss ETA movement for this rep. I have read from another post here that Asian movement is the usual preference but I have also read that given this is a quite simple watch either ETA will suffice. I know there's a price difference, but should I go for Asian or Swiss? Thank you so much for helping me. I am total n00b and don't really know much about watches. Louis
  10. Hmm..just letting you guys know it doesn't work for me too.
