Hi there, I'm thinking of getting one too, either the 2007 Chrono, Grey Dial
http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=75878
Or the 2008 Chrono Black
for the black one, I would be waiting till February for a dealer to correct some flaws, whereas the 2007 grey dial one you can pretty much get them from the usual dealers.
Which flaws do you mean?

@ranisavage
At my watch, the start/stop button has to be pushed hard.
The reset button needs no effort at all.
It's the only 7750 I have tried, so I cannot make a comparison.
The truth is that at my GEN Breitling Navitimer, things are more or less the same.
If you ever do the relume and repainting, please let me know.
-
i'm guessing its a factory issue, wouldn't go as far as to call it a 'problem' though
so how different do the lume markers @ 6, 9 and 12 look on the gen ?
i'd like to know about a gen strap as well for the watch, maybe even a bracelet ?
Of course you cannot ask 100% from a rep.
But when the manufacturer does such a good work with the whole watch, it's a pity to "lose" an easy detail like the markers.
On the gen, they are flat and of course, symmetrical.
With a bracelet, you get a very very shiny result.
IMO, this is the best combination:

How much was the gen leather strap?? I like the rubber a lot but would like a leather strap more i think. Or any suggestions as to where to buy a decent leather strap for it that will work with the deployment?
Veyron will tell us about the gen...
The problem is that it's difficult to find aftermarket straps at 23mm.
-
ohh man
i am gonna go have to look @ mine real carefully now
Hi,
Did you notice anything at yours?
I love the watch more than I expected, but this issue with the dots really bothers me!
If it is a factory problem I will feel better...
-
I have the same problem on the same watch, so it's a factory problem I think like the lume dot's on the Skyland. I bought a gen leather strap for it, looks great on this watch
How much did you pay for the gen strap?
Do you have any photos?
Thank you.
-
How much have you paid for the watch?
390$, shipped to EU.
-
I ordered it to Sead1999 (Super mirrors) from Repgeek and I received it in less than 2 weeks after payment (shipped to EU).
The transaction was perfect! Sead was replying to my questions immediately (and I was asking him many many things) and his price was the best around.
I believe that I won't buy from someone else in the future!
Now, a small review of the watch:
I was searching, comparing and waiting for a long time to find the "ultimate" version (thank you Takashi!).
Correct dial, bezel and caseback with the accurate engravings, plus the regulator. Finally, it was released.
The overall quality and finishing is very good, as a rep is quite accurate (I have tried some times the gen) and in my opinion, it is a beautiful watch.
Movement is a bit loud but so is the gen also.
The strap looks and feels good (vanilla smell) but the "CHOPARD" engraving on the buckle is awful.
IMO, the watch would look better with a brown leather strap.
AR is good.
The only flaw is that the painting of the dots ("arrows") sucks. I don't know if it happens in general, but in my watch you can notice it easily.
Also, when you try to screw or unscrew the crown, the crown tube feels like it's going to break.
I would like to know if someone else has the same problems.
Some photos:
See here, in the red circles, the painting of the dots (or whatever they are called):
To conclude, I can say that I am 80% satisfied by the watch and 101% from the dealer.

lastly please DO NOT shake your watch to get it started
all you have to do is place it in your palm face down and twirl it around in circles gently ... that'll get the rotor spun enough to start the movement, then put it on your wrist and wear it proudly
I didn't know it!
Thank you very much.
-
The rotor should spin when you move/shake/wear your watch. If it does NOT spin when you move/shake/wear your watch, your watch needs service.
Thank you very much!
Obviously, at the thought that my "1 hour new watch" had problem, I wasn't able to read the topic clearly. Or my english is that bad...
-
Sorry for repeating, but I got confused!
Forget hand winding.
If I move/shake/wear the watch, the rotor should spin or not??
Thanks again.
-
Today I received a Chopard MM GTXL Chrono.
When I gently shaked it for first time, the rotor spined and the same does every time I shake it.
I never manually winded it.
What's the problem?
Thank you.
-
I meant this one:
Yes, it's very nice, but I prefer the other .
-
Nobody knows..?
-
Another question:
Shouldn't the rotor have blue screws?
-
Chopard MM GTXL PVD Chrono with Black Dial - also the gen is limited to 1000 - to get via PT
I am sorry, but what do you mean by that?
-
Any other opinions?
Thank you.
-
Other dealers may offer it. If you have a preferred dealer contact them. But other dealers may not stock it because it makes no economic sense to offer 3 versions of the same watch. Alternatively, if you are very concerned about the back of the watch I would suggest you go to the limited edition with silver dial. It has an excellent solid case back with individual serial numbers depending on the dealer (if I remember correctly). At least it is not another black dial watch and the gen is a far more exclusive watch.
Yes, limited edition is perfect, but honestly I don't like the silver dial. Obviously, I am the exception...
Thank you
-
Thanks for your reply,
You can see the regulator in the ref circle:

I was ready to go for your watch, but I saw version 3 which seems to be perfect.
I am just wondering why no other dealer offers it....
-
I am not sure, but I think the 7750 version's rubber band doesn't have problem with the dust and also has the vanilla scent, like the gen.
-
No more than usual, but if I recall correctly the 7750 version has a jerky second hand
It is exactly the same as the gen!
The rotor noise as well as how the hand moves.

Hi all,
The last 2 months I am looking for the best version of this watch.
First one is the version that most of the "known" dealers offer. For example:
http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=106
Rotor has the regulator but caseback is wrong (No LUC, 50m instead of 100m, 8459 instead of 16/8459).
Second version has correct case back, but no regulator:
http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn84/ec...wastatdial2.jpg
http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn84/ec...tatcaseback.jpg
Dials on both versions look exactly the same to me.
So, I had finally concluded (with Takashi's help) to go for the second version, until I saw this:
http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=30600
Correct caseback and regulator!
Since the photos are not very good, I cannot tell if its dial is as good as the dials of the above two versions, but it looks it is.
Is this a new, "more ultimate" version? He is the only dealer that offers the specific one.
The other problem is that if you not keep the watch in your hand, you cannot say a lot about the quality.
So, what would you do..??? I would be grateful if you could make some research for me. Your eye is much more experienced than mine
Thank you in advance.

Hi all,
The last month, I am searching for the best watch.
I have concluded in two wathes:
1. http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=106
2. At www.kingwatches.net, Chopard 046
The first one has wrong caseback but rotor has the regulator.
The second one has correct caseback but no regulator.
From the pictures, the look identical, except the differences I mentioned.
In your opinion, which should I prefer?
Thank you all.
