I was so sad to miss on that watch. I was able to get one of RoloJacks cases. The bracelet that came with it, was it color matched as well or is it just stainless steel? I'm trying to figure out what direction to go for the bracelet.

any advice on crown and sapphire? Is Matt sourcing them for you? I was able to get them sourced new from factory but $300+ for each.

He is. I've reached out and we've talked a bit but I also know he's pretty busy so didn't want to put a ton of him. I'm hoping to ship it all to him in the next few weeks to get it built!

Been researching but have seen a few conflicting answers. I would like to go as gen as possible, however, I know the movement will be a limitation. With a Swiss 2834 and a gen dial, am I able to use a gen date and day wheel along with hands? It seems like most builds are using aftermarket. Besides that the gen crown seems hard to source but the crystal is pretty easy to come across. Bracelet I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for color matching to a white gold case?

  6. Just started working on a Submariner 16610 Franken and was curious what order others had done their upgrades in? So far I've done: Gen Crown Gen Ceramic Bezel Next I would like to do a gen band but am questioning if I should go for the crystal first. The dial looks so close I'd likely look at that last. Movement I'm not concerned with as I'd just buy gen if I was doing that as well. So what about you?
  7. Hey all, I've been doing some reading but would love to hear your thoughts. I've got a Milgauss and a Submariner 116610LV and noticing the bands are showing some wear. Nothing major, just scratches from daily use. I'd like to spend some time cleaning them up and wasn't sure what is best for this. I've read that 3M ScotchBrite pads are good, along with different grit sandpapers. That being said, what do you recommend? How do you get your bracelet back into pristine condition?
  8. Hey everyone, Would love your feedback on the images below. Anything stand out that is an obvious miss?
  9. Hey everyone, After doing the research, I decided to to bite the bullet on a Milgauss form Trusty Time. I received it Friday and it's absolutely stunning. Sadly this weekend didn't produce many opportunities to wear it, or any watch for that matter so it remained in my watch case from Saturday around 10AM until Sunday around 5PM. I noticed the time was off and that the second hand wasn't moving. As soon as I set the time and started wearing it the time started keeping again (perfect 60 second movement). So my question is I know they operate off movement, and if they sit for a bit they'll stop running. Is 31 hours of non-wear enough time for that to happen, in your opinion? Thanks for your thoughts!
  10. Hey everyone, I wanted to start by saying how grateful I was to find this forum and the wealth of information it holds. Over the years I've collected a few reps along side a few gens and it was very much so a solo experience. My previous job has me traveling to Asia with somewhat frequency, so I would just purchase a handful of quality reps there and bring them back for myself and friends. Since changing roles, my travel has stopped and I needed a way to find quality products with real reviews., I spent some time googling and never felt comfortable purchasing online as I assumed the worst as far as quality. Well, that has changed after finding this site! I've ben searching for a Milgauss for some time and thanks to the reviews I was able to see for Trusty Time, I went ahead and purchased one! It should be arriving shortly and I'll definitely be doing a review once received. Alright, that being said. I need some help! Previously there was an older gentleman that ran a small watch shop that would do work on reps. A few years back, he closed and since I haven't had the need for any service. A few things I've read so far seem to imply I should be taking the watch I receive in for service almost immediately to ensure it's oiled and working properly. Is that accurate? If so, what type of service should I be looking for? That's only one part of the problem. Additionally, I am not sure the best way to go about finding someone in my town who will work on reps. Is there a good way to understand who will and won't without flat out asking? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
