  1. Very nice, Ubi... and generous as always.
  2. Looks like I should be there on 23 Oct, staying in Paddington area before heading up to Cambridge. Then back in London for one night on 27 Oct before leaving on the 28th. Not sure what the girls thing is all about.... but I prefer women.
  3. Looks like I'll be in London a couple nights and probably Cambridge as well at the end of the month. Not sure how much free time I'll actually have, but if there is any interest in a mini London GTG I'd definitely try to make time! Otherwise, can anyone make a recommendation or two for a good pub and/or eatery somewhere in the Paddington area?
  4. Glocks are used by police in many locales. 1911s of various makes are also common. American-made Berettas are still used by US military. Glock 22 and 23 are used by FBI... I'll have to confirm with my buddy at I.C.E. what the standard issue sidearm is there, but it's the Sig P229 if I recall correctly. Personally, I like Glocks a whole lot. But my favorite gun for the range is a Ruger .22. Sig and Beretta definitely don't work as well for me. And I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to try a Browning.
  5. Ya, Glocks and Sigs are a dime a dozen. I don't know that I'd call Sig "the best" though. I wouldn't call any particular brand the best. The best handgun is the one that feels most comfortable in your hand and is easiest for you to control, which varies from person to person.
  6. If you have the new crystal and can't press it in yourself, there are plenty of members who would be glad to help you out. Myself included.
  7. Gorgeous work as always (those markers simply don't look hand lumed!), and quite a handsome watch. I agree - B for Beautiful.
  8. Ya, spit and a T shirt works fine. Spit and jeans... sure. I don't know, most jeans seem a little rough though. I doubt you could scratch the coating with denim though.
  9. Aw, man. And here I thought she only contacted me.
  10. Wow, now that's a collection and a half!
  11. Got any pics of that rail dial?
  12. Tell me more about Italian girls...
  13. And this is not only true of dials (variants from the web site photos), but also of cases. I've sent back a case or two to Phong, for example, and eventually did receive the one pictured.
  14. Laphroaig is too peaty, in my opinion. I can drink it, but don't particularly enjoy it. Lagavulin I have yet to try, and being an Isla, I know it too will be peaty. But I think it has different layers of taste (so I've heard) as opposed to Laphroig which seemed to me to be all smoke all the time. At this point my personal favorite is the 18 year Highland Park. It's just phenominal. I get toffee, spiciness, and a smokey finish. Just the right amount of peat. Just the perfect scotch for me.
  15. LOL! I think you're right.... (about the bevmo part). In any event, I'd love a sip of the Macallan 25 year. I suspect I'd like it even more than the Fine Oak 30 year variety. And at $600, it's 40% cheaper too! PS. Ain't it just a little silly to put Glenfiddich behind lock and key and RIGHT next to the Macallan to boot!
  16. Yes, the ones I received were up to spec.
  17. No... that's my [future] 6265....
  18. And they sell good liquor... (at least I *think* I was at Costco when I took this shot).
  19. Bingo. I consider my 16520 to be a silver Mercedes E350, both of which I have a particular fondness for.
  20. Well, I don't know either as I was recently looking for the same. When I bought my 78390A bracelet, I didn't know Rolex would be kind enough to include spring bars, so I bought a set from Wholesale Outlet on Ebay while I was waiting for the bracelet to arrive. Well, as it turns out, there's really no difference between the generic and the ones from Rolex, so far as I can see...
  21. Nice writeup. The 236 is indeed the latest super rep. For me, the crown, lever, and pin are the problematic areas. And of course that pin can be fixed. The dial is good, but the subdial print is a little off. Just a little. All in all one of the best reps out of the box in a long while!
  22. Holy shmoly. It must have been 90 degrees F here, just a wee bit south of your locale, today.
  23. I'd go with the old school 196 that's for sale right now over in the sales forum.
  24. Neat piece. Definitely on the small side, but it still looks at home on your wrist. Love the mesh bracelet of course, too.
  25. Fantastic! And it comes as no surprise to see you on the receiving end of such a gesture, after all you do R.
