  1. Here's what I don't understand (as a Californian and an American, but not a lawyer... so forgive my ignorance):

To preface, I am not commenting on the issue of homosexuality, or marriage, or morality.

My state constitution was modeled somewhat after the US Constitution. One of the fundamental principles of the US Constitution is that in order to change it, a 2/3 vote is required. Not just 51 percent. I assume the idea is to make sure that a proposed change to something as important as a "constitution" is well supported and doesn't simply hold a majority vote.

So here is what I don't understand. How can my state, through its initiative process, alter the California state constitution with only a 52% vote. If our state legislators had attempted to make the same change it would have required a 2/3 vote, much like Article V of the US Constitution requires.

This whole ordeal seems rather contrary to the intent (as much as I hate to use that word in regards to the constitution) of Article V of the US Constitution, and the California State Constituion. And, quite frankly, seems rather "Un-American."

In my oppinion, no group should have had the right to change the wording of the Constitution without gathering at least 66.6% of the vote.

  2. On thing about the bezel and retaining ring. If you try to pull it straight off, it won't budge. However, if you rip out the insert (so you can gain access to the inside lip of the retaining ring, you can kind of try to separate the two by pushing on one side at an angle. It's hard to describe, but basically you've got to push it out on one side.

  3. I don't mean to be "captain obvious" by why not shape blue lip as follows:

The steel is pretty strong and you don't need much to maintain the integrity of the lip holding the bezel on. (I even show a small chamfer to help guide the retaining spring into its slot a little better.)

This may be a difficult task (though it would be simple work with a lathe) but you could probably get approximately there with a dremel, a steady hand, and patience.

    Good Luck!

  4. Ok, now almost two weeks after my order with Paul. Emailed him several times and no response. My friend has emailed him about a watch he's interested in and he has replied to both his enquiries within 24 hours.

He has obviously read my messages but is refusing to reply to them.

Doesn't look too good guys. From what I've read about Paul it looks like he's back to his old tricks again..............

Don't worry. More than a few dealers will ignore "order status" type e-mails because they are flooded with them. Just be patient. Two weeks isn't enough time to get really worried.

  5. Too much going on with all the sub-dials and the diamonds, IMO. I have one bling watch and it's a TT DJ with a onxy dial. It has a diamond bezel, but no markers at all (which took a little getting used to for reading the time). I finished it off with a 14K jubilee band from PT and I love it! I get a lot of compliments on it and my fiance actually likes it (which I was worried about. Thought she might think it was too "pimpy.")

  6. Hello,

No matter how good a rep looks, when you take it in your Hand you immediately can tell it's a rep because the ETA winding rotor is so much louder than the one on genuine watches.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this loud rotor sound? Maybe by applying a gen rotor to the ETA?

    Any ideas are appreciated.

    Danny

    Rule Number 1:

If you take a rep off your wrist and hand it to someone who ACTUALLY can tell the difference, it won't matter how many mods you have. You can be comfortable in knowing that it is unlikely you will run into someone who CAN actually tell the difference, however.

  7. Thanks for the advice, everyone. I think I'll stick to one on my wrist. But, I was planning on my LV. Maybe I'll wear my Fiddy (though it's a bit large to wear with a suit). I think I'll just chance it with the Rolex.

In regards to the sights. After some advice, I hope to visit Clifton Village and the suspension bridge. Also, I've heard good things about Bath, but I'm not sure I'll get enough time to get there.

Also, thanks for the PM, Doc. You guessed correctly.

I tried to reply, but you mailbox is full.

  8. Hello All,

Haven't posted two much on the new RWG, but I have a question...

I'm about to travel from the USA to England (Filton, Bristol) in a couple of weeks on business. Should I leave my reps at home? Or is it safe to wear one?

I mean, I know that it is an icecube's chance in hell that someone working in customs would also be a WIS. But still, is better not to even risk it? Does anyone have experience with this?

Also, if anyone is from (or has been to) Bristol, do you have any recommendations on sights that I shouldn't miss? I won't have much free time while I'm there, but I've never been to Europe and I want to see SOMETHING. Haha.

    Thanks in advance,

    -Pete
