  1. I love that PP abat!
  2. Oh yeah, that and the Ferrari jacket looks great... /sarcasm
  3. I think there may be some in "Platinum Goodies"
  4. You know, I'm always so fascinated when people do these mods by themselves especially people like The Zigmeister and Tribal who work on thousands of different watches...seriously, this is amazing...what a beautiful piece...I especially like the detail on the winding gears in the vintage Corteberts and the vintage-esq lume looks pretty cool... that Simona vintage strap is a beauty also...Ammo right?
  5. Echoing CS, very VERY nice combo...I recently put my SFSO on a blue leather strap the tang Breit buckle and it's become one of my favorites again...although, I also just but my modded SSD back on it's bracelet (had it on rubber) and I'm loving that too...plus the vintage Speedmaster and Homer's tourby...I've literally worn 4 watches today... damn
  6. Ohh very nice...
  7. Ohhh...I like.. I've been doing the whole "no case" thing and I've gotta say...it looks/feels much better without a case... That being said, the battery life hasn't gotten to the point where it's pissing me off yet but I'm sure it'll eventually get there... Thanks for the info Chronus!
  8. Oh Veja that's gonna look sweet...wish I could help with the bezel (i'm sure someone here can) but I can't WAIT to see the finished product
  9. I LOVEEEEEEEEE THE EXPLORER I!!! I'm going to be taking one on as a franken and I'm searching for a modern and vintage gen to add to my collections. IMHO probably the best bang for your buck rep.
  10. Crap mine won't post...
  11. @ JohnG Hahaha, superb...ammo for the NWO Thanks for the article mil_sub!
  12. Android still looks a bit clunky...I'd agree that Apple probably has no need for concern at the moment...
  13. @ TeeJay: Agreed, to a point. In my experience, the watchmakers and the senior sales staff tend to have a pretty good knowledge of the high end brands (minor historical stuff, etc) but most of the employees are simply sales people...their job is to sell the watch not to know the difference between a rotor on bearings and an oscillating axle.. and to keep it in perspective: that sales attitude works fine for 90% of customers...it's the 10% or so like us that need to know the nitty gritty...but at the same time, if we're in looking at a particular watch...you can be damn sure we've TZ'd and Googled the living hell out of it. At times I do wish for a little more knowledge in the sales staff but I fear that those days are gone in corporate sales.
  14. Have a great trip!
  15. I personally don't care if the salesperson knows every little intricacy about the watch because if you're purchasing a gen of any type you should do the research yourself and not count on someone getting paid $19/hour to figure it out for you. The Tourneau near me knows me by name, sends me catalogs, etc simply because when I buy a watch I've done the research, I know what I want, and I make my purchase...they don't know I'm a WIS or whatever but they know that I make purchases every few months and they probably figure (rightly so) that I'm a collector. Some of the salespeople there are extremely knowledgeable, some aren't, but at the end of the day their job is to sell me a watch and provide after-sales service
  16. Beautiful collection and great photography!
  17. ^ As requested.
  18. Hm...I'd be interested in this too...haven't seen it around.

Ah! It's finally finished! Amazing piece, very nice work!
  20. Cool complications!
  21. I used WD 40 on caseback and crown gaskets but I think I read that silicone can cause the gaskets to expand or something like that so I've taken to using the grease you can get from Ofrei. I just unscrew the caseback and remove the stem then grease up (in the case of a Rolex rep) the caseback and crown/stem gaskets, carefully reinsert the stem/make sure it's working (toughest part for a noob like myself) and replace the caseback. My SeaDweller is been on shallow(ish) dives down to 50-75ft and in the shower/pool and is perfectly fine...I usually reapply the grease every 6 months or so.
  22. Haha superb! I saw the B,B, & B card and I was like "Ohhh, J got a platinum Rolex..." Nice box anyways...
  23. ^ Good answer.
  24. That particular animal from that photo died last year I believe...
  25. Congratulations! Wear it well and hopefully we'll see it in some wrist checks!
