  1. @irate03 Stunning build, especially having been cooked up in a hurry. That photo of it sitting in the box could be straight out of a Rolex catalog. If you're game to entertain a few noob questions from someone embarking on a similar build, I'm in the process of sourcing parts and could definitely benefit from a few tips: • Do you have a link for the CousinsUK crystal? I've been trying to find a properly domed T12 but am mostly finding the newer, beveled-edge service crystals. • Was this the Yuki dial you used? They've got it listed as compatible with Rolex movements but seems like you managed to get it working with your 2783. Nice! Did you have to buy a separate, ETA-compatible handset, or did the ones that came with the dial fit okay?
  2. Oh, strange. I scoured his site several times earlier this year hunting for a good cartel 1016 and this one didn't turn up.
  3. Website indicates yes but tough to know for sure. I'd email Trusty to inquire: trustytime@gmail.com
  4. Yeah, I hadn't noticed how mammoth that bezel is. And in some of the other photos there are some nasty gaps between the case and end links. Interesting nonetheless to see some of the vintage reps get a factory update. Hopefully in response to more buyer interest and will pave the ground for some other vintage pieces to show up. Would love to see a vintage Air King get a decent rep treatment... I think it's safe to say you've still got the 1016 case set market cornered 👍
  5. Was looking through Trusty's site earlier and came across this 1016 Explorer, which I'm pretty sure is the only cartel 1016 I've seen with drilled lug holes and a proper plexi dome. Still far from perfect — dial numerals are a little wacky, and the drilled holes to some eyes may seem slightly too far inward from the ends of the lugs — but otherwise looks like an improvement over the other 1016 he has for sale, which lacks drilled lugs and whose sapphire crystal is only modestly domed. Hoping he'll put a video up soon. Anyone seen this elsewhere? Or bought one? (Photos via TrustyTime)
  6. You can still find some of the '64 re-editions (ref CS3111) in that price range ($1500 up to $3000 for some near mint models). Slightly beyond my reach at the moment, but yeah, not a bank-buster by any means. The Aramar is pretty slick! Not especially keen on pandas myself but gotta love the trusty SeaGull movement. And always nice to see 38mm chronos.
  7. Great info, thanks all. I did come across a mention of the Tag CV2113 (the one from the gen ebay link) > https://www.repgeek.com/tag-heuer/150596-tag-watch.html#post1692200. He made some specific comments about one version being better than another, suggesting reps of this model do indeed exist. Posted back in 2011, so will have to see if these are still around. Thanks also for pointing me to PureTime's current URL; I'd been having trouble tracking that down. He's got a Carrera Calibre 18 listed (https://puretime05.com/carrera-calibre-18-chrono-ss-cream-black-dial-on-black-leather-strap-jap-quartz.html), which I friggin' love, but oddly the case diameter is listed at 43.5 which is quite a bit off from official Tag site (and all other sources) which suggests case should be 39. Will have to email and get some clarification, because that thing is a beauty. Rolex 6263 is grand, as is the Pre Daytona 6234, which I've seen repped in other forums.
  8. Hi all, brand spankin' new to the forum / realm of reps in general and am looking to narrow down a search for a small-ish chronograph. I've got some serious stick wrists (~6.25") and am having a trouble finding something 38mm or under, which is where I typically have to draw the cut-off line. Not looking for something terribly fancy or luxurious; I definitely prefer a simpler look. Think Tag Heuer Carrera circa 1960, IWC Pilots, Rolex Pre-Daytona, Zenith El Primero Classic. Those are all a bit out of my size range, so hoping to mine the vast knowledge on display here for any recommendations. Generally fonder of dark dials but am learning very quickly that unsubstantiated pickiness probably won't get me very far. Open to anything and everything. And hey, if nothing turns up, I'll just sell a kidney and pick up a gen Carrera 1964 re-edition... A million thanks!
