  1. Thanks! I will check that out later. A new dial and new hands is really no problem.
  2. The movement turned out to be an asian 21J "faux" GMT, with similar functionality as the 2836-2. I didn't remember. Like the one reviewed here: http://rwg.cc/index.php?/topic/17962-Review-of-Omega-Seamaster-Black-GMT
  3. Ok. The spring is totally f*cked up. The flywheel is not moving freely because of it. So I guess, new spring (and flywheel?)
  4. Hmm, interesting. Well, the symptoms are that it doesn't run I might look into it tonight.
  5. I guess the service cost will be more than a new movement, if I manage to find someone that are willing to service a replica watch, and it actually is fixable.
  6. I have this 2006 replica of the Omega Seamaster GMT. I believe it has an Asian 2824 movement, that has stopped working (some years ago). My watch interest is on the rise again, and I really love the look of this watch. I think repairing the movement is out of the question, but what is the easiest/cheapest way of getting this watch working again? I'm thinking new movement from ebay, or from a cheap watch, preferably with a white on black date wheel. Maybe skip the GMT function. Maybe new dial (and maybe new bezel insert, if I don't have a GMT function), making it something other than a Omega replica. What options do I have? What is the cheapest, pretty reliable, preferably automatic movement that will fit? Would it be possible to fit a quartz movement? Of all my reps this is the only one that has stopped working. The others have run steady on rotation since 2006. (Non-serviced)
  7. I have had my rep for 10 years. Bought at abay at the time. It is really stunning, but the strap gave in some month ago. The leather / glue around the pins broke. Is it possible to get a new leather strap, which fits as good as the original? (Actually the main reason for logging in, it's been ages, was to put it up for sale)
  8. Happy Birthday space!

  9. Don't know the cost to get it running. I guess it would not be worth it. The bezel misalignement is fixed by snaøøing the bezel off, gently removing the bezel "insert", aligning it correctly and then gluing it back on, and snspping the bezel back in place.
  10. I bought one of these a few years back. Looked pretty good, but had a few flaws: -misaligned bezel (easy fix) -some issues where the bezel goes from black to white 3/9) -white date wheel -movement stopped after a few months. Been in a drawer since then... Too bad. It's a beautiful watch!
  11. Happy Birthday space!

  12. Replica guitars are generally bad. After you upgrade all parts to be quality parts, you 're still playing a guitar with bad wood, and questionable playability, and you have payed as much as a used origial. I say stay away, if you like playing.

Bringing ut an old thread, but how accurate is comparing it to the original?
  14. Walked by a store today, and saw this shining in the window under a poster of Dicaprio Couldn't resist walking inside and try it on. Slid my PAM111 rep down my pocket, to not have the shop owner ask to many questions... I loved the way it looked on my wrist, so sent a mail to Mary when I got home, and finally pulled the trigger.
  15. Sweet! Is the movement reliable? And thanks for the bracelet rattle fix link!
