  1. this is a common problem, due to low quality of the tube. Here a way to solve it: regards, Francisco
  2. Yes, i reviewed fine_dd AR treatmet. it is very scratch resistant... although the reflection is neutral or a bit yellow... but this is nice for some watches. threads are here: Regards, Francisco
  3. I opened a thread some time ago about some watchmaker tools at dealextreme: the set of screwdrivers can be found in other palces, I know it. It is not as Bergeon, of course, but ratio quality / price is really good.
  4. All the pictures you need are here:
  5. My God! 1.- ETA 7750 costs at ebay about 270 euros... so $700 is a lie. 2.- Asian 7750 is not the problem. The problem is the modification to move seconds to 12 position. If you swap to ETA 7750, the problem remains the same... no improvement... you have not solved the main problem. 3.- If you have time, have a look here, where it is shown why this model has problems: Best wishes, Francisco
  6. probably there is a piece of dirty/metal stopping the cannon pinion...
  7. friends, you do not know the amount of money that some dealers earn selling just one watch. i am not going to write here the number, because you are not going to believe me... so, poor seller, he has to make a picture of each watch... no, he not, one Chinese that earns 100 euros per month... less than the benefit of selling 2 watches...
  8. I made a comparison for AP, AR vs no AR here:
  9. Hola: Bienvenido. Saludos desde Valencia. Un abrazo.
  10. Interesting. One question. Is this a new cannon pin? I mean, does he cut the teeth? or is he adding a tube to increase the length? Best wishes, Francisco
  11. yes, that's true... it is amazing what we can do nowadays...
  12. CONGRATULATIONS. A good long distance repair service. Yes, it is normal.
  13. Yes, it is what I thought. There is a wire with a "V" at the end, see green arrow. You have to move down that wire. You have to put the V in one of the teeth of the gear (use tweezers). This is the final result: It is very easy to blend that wire. Be very careful. Take your time. Good luck!
  14. Man, that's funny... your pictures are not showing only the area I am interested on... amazing! I would like to see the are to the right of the balance wheel... Best wishes, Francisco
  15. I guess it has a very easy solution. if the crhono runs but the only problem is that the minute counter is not running.... it is easy to fix... if you are able to open the case back and take a picture I teach you...
  16. OK. Let's wait for more info... But I cannot imagine that task without disassembling the whole balance assembly. If not I guess it is very easy to damage some parts... Previous picture is the key. How to have the bottom incabloc in the top balance assembly, filling, without disassembling? It seems very difficult... Even having all the parts disassembled... i think requires more skill and patient to obtain the correct shape... I think... and gen part is not expensive... and you only have to reduce the diameter a bit. Best wishes, Francisco
  17. Another possible improvement could be the incabloc mod:
  18. Hi Friend: I have just made a search in RWI with no success. Can you posts the pics here? On the other hand, if you have to file the rep incabloc, I guess you have to disassembly the whole balance assembly as well, so final time and difficulty is going to be larger than this approach. Best wishes, Francisco
  19. Follows a picture of a gen Panerai movement: A zoom to the balance assembly. Please, pay attention to the green arrow: Now follows the balance assembly of a PAM rep: Last picture shows too the incabloc employed by the gen. The difference is small, but noticeable. This mod consists of assembly the gen incabloc in the rep balance assembly. The ETA part to be bought is reference 3024 of the ETA 6497 movement. It is priced 13 pounds + taxes + shipping at cousinsuk.com. This is not an easy mod. The main problem is that the ETA part does not fit in the rep balance assembly. In addition, the whole balance assembly has to de disassembled. The first task is to disassembly all the parts of the balance assembly. Here the fine regulator is removed: The balance wheel has to be removed too. Next pictures show all the parts after removing. Next step is to remove the rep incabloc. You can use a press or a small screwdriver to remove it. Sorry, no pictures of that step: If we try to fit the ETA incabloc we realize that it is not possible. The diameter is only a bit larger. So I employed the lathe to reduce a bit the diameter: The amount of material to be reduced is extremely small. Be careful. You can try another approach if you do not own a lathe. Now it fits: So now the balance wheel can be assembled. In the last picture the incabloc needs to be pressed. If you do not have a press, you can employ covered pliers. Incabloc fitted: Now it is time to fit the fine regulator: Last step is to assembly the balance wheel. One point. When removing the balance wheel, you should remove a pin that fits the main regulator. Next drawing shows what I mean: However, in this example I am showing, the spring get lost (unglued) from the main regulator when removing the balance wheel. So in this case I had to glue it again. Work finished: A comparison: Regulating the beat error and precision is a must after this mod. Here a picture during regulation: Follows a picture of the movement of my 112, with 2 mods: OP decal and incabloc. I love my 112… Best wishes, Francisco
  20. in my opinion the attitude to Josh and Andrew has a verified base: 1.- waterproofing... that it is not done. 2.- synthetic sapphire as mineral... 3.- pressure on other dealers to increase prices... 4.- too many white lies... here the list is large... However, you can choose the dealer you want, and the forum you want. The majority of members are in "all" forums and we feel happy on them. Forum is made of members... Enjoy the hobby!
  21. Be careful with that balance wheel on last picture!
