  1. thought i would share this one. i am wearing it for a long time now and never had time do do the necessary improvements. Installed a genuine tube and crown some time ago and relumed it. Still some work to be done on it if i find some time
  2. yes, will do! i posted some infos how to do this in the first thread. its no difference if its handwind or eta... but i will write these tips in a separate thread too! @ssurfer: thanks!
  3. SECOND RUN: we are currently collecting orders for the second run of 2,1mm crowns which will be available for for eta automatic and handwind 6497 in these variations: -s/s -PVD -titanium look (sandblasted) We decided to make only 2.1mm (cost reduction) since the demand for these was higher. also like the first run, it will be a limited quantity due to financial reasons. We collect preorders now until end of next week, then the production will begin. Also we will have to take prepayments to have a little safety in our planning! So, interested members please PM me for details and to reserve one! the price will be 49 EUR+shipping registered letter (discount available if you take more than 4). PVD version is calculated at the moment, might be around 5-10 EUR additional for the PVD coating! that depends on how many i can send to get PVD coated if someone wants to have it installed on his watch, i can offer that service. please PM me for details. INFO FOR THE UPGRADERS: As promised Pamela will offer a discounted price for all the members who bought crowns from the first run. First he announced 15 EUR, we are currently calculating if this is still possible because we have to make sure the expenses get covered, I am sure everybody understands that. The first run was more expensive than we initially calculated But IF we have to raise the upgrade price a bit, it still will be much less than the full price (we are speaking of a price in the range of 15-22 EUR, depending on the number we will make). Like it has been said before, this project is not about earning money, therefore its just too much work and time and we earn not much , the goal of all these work was to finally get some damn nice crowns I am happy when we come out in the + at the end To improve the handling of the upgrades, we decided that all the members who want to upgrade should contact me! I will handle this, confirm with Pamela and send out the crowns when these are available. All out of one hand should be better and reduce any possible confusion. But please give me some time to handle all the emails and PMs!
  4. UPDATE: 1x crown 2.1mm for eta automatic left! buyer backed out! so if anyone wants this one, PM me! SECOND RUN: we are currently collecting orders for the second small run of 2,1mm crowns which will be available in: -s/s -PVD -titanium look (sandblasted) for eta automatic and handwind 6497 The quantity will be limited again due to financial reasons...interested buyers please PM me to reserve one!
  5. pls see my response in the crown thread just sand down the tip of the lever a bit and voila!
  6. yes this is correct. you have to file down the tip of the lever a bit to make it to close tightly. that was intended (the back of the crown is not too recessed like on the earlier versions) , otherwise there would be too many mambers who would have had problems to close the lever (see the other thread and review of The Zigmeister). therefore and to make sure that everyone can install these crowns on their PAMs, the back is not too deeply recessed. i installed many crowns now without a problem, here is a quick guide how i make this: -just make sure you get the crown close enough to the case, not flush but correct distance, (rep crown is too far away from the case). on the gens, you can seea tiny bit of the crown tube when you look at it from the front. you do this by shortening the stem a tiny bit (do not shorten it too much!) rather make multiple steps and testfits to get the correct length of the stem -then file down the lever a bit at the tip (round), testfit it with screws of the cg installed and if it still doesnt close, take it off, file again etc etc.... its quite easy, only takes some time/steps to adjust it right then you will have a lever that closes nice and snugly!
  7. because they did not manage to shoot a goal out of 2m distance
  8. hi guys, i have only 2x 2.0mm for eta automatic movement 1x 2.0mm for 6497 handwind left from the crowns i had. so if someone wants to have it, hurry up
  9. i have done a bit more research on this. and one thing i have noticed and that is the reason for the problem The Zigmeister had: If you look closely on the pic The Zigmeister posted where you can see the lever and the crown, you can see that the lever on this watch is/was already ground down. It has a flat tip instead of a rounded tip that it should have. Reason for this can be 2 things: -someone already modded this PAM with a lello crown before (you have to grind down the lever to get the lello crown to fit) -it came from factory like that, means, the rep makers did that for some reason (perhaps to fit the rep crown, who knows) the crowns from the earlier runs of PAMela have a bit deeper recessed back. but that alone does not mean that the lever will not engage. Some do (if they have a rounded tip) and some don´t (like The Zigmeisters when its flat at the tip). PAM told me that his PAM has one of these crowns too and it fitted without a problem. i also have one of them fitted now on a PAM and it wporked too. So IMHO its not an error of the crown, it can still be fitted when you have a correct lever. the newer crowns from the last batch that are sent out now are all less recessed. You most likely have to grind down the tip of the lever a bit to get it to close so that there is enough space for adjustments for any lever out there
  10. the ones i sent out are exactly like the watcher has on his PAM! perhaps the crown from jake was a bad one or a mix up by PAM, i willl notify him that he should look into that!
  11. this looks like one of PAMs crowns of the earlier version (as far as i can judge it). the ones i have in my hands (and i sent out) have the less recessed back. so usually its even necessary to sand down the lever a bit to adjust it and to get it to close so there should be enough room and material to adjust the whole mechanism... edited: just saw that watcher on RWG already fitted the new crown and it worked perfect! i have one like the one here in this review on one of my personal PAMs too and its correct that the lever does not touch the crown 100% because of the deep recessed area . i upgraded the lever pin hole (like on jimmyzefu cgs) so that the lever isn´t loose and you can´t see that the lever isnt touching the crown, so i live with it because i do not rely on any rep to be waterproof anyway.... but perhaps you can sand down the cg a bit to make the lever touch the crown again? @tescardo: these are all PAMelas crowns. i did not make a new project, i just helped him with input and handling the shipping etc etc.
  12. update: i continued to pack the crowns and ship these out. tomorrow i will send around 8 packages... i will be offline for 2-3 days now, i am heading to watch a game of the soccer world championships i will be back online on sunday!
  13. UPDATE again i started to pack up everything and the first crowns are on the. i am on a business trip until wedensday, then the next crowns go out! almost all crowns of this batch are sold, only 2x 2.0mm handwind 6497, and 1x 2.0mm automatic left. so if you want one of the first run, hurry up!
  14. hi you french guys i am not too far of Paris! and i do repairs and mods... (i already have done some work for other members in france) and for the more complicated movement problems i have a pro watchsmith at hand (glashuette and omega experience) if i can help PM me for details!
  15. i have so many ideas in my head at the moment, its terrible...(because i have not enough time). i think they accumulated during the last months but i need someone who is able to use a milling machine.. soon, soon....... :akuma: ANYBODY? ANYBODY? BUELLER?
  16. thanks guys! and thanks nanuq for the excellent pics! i will continue the work on the lugs soon...
  17. it begun with that: jay, i hope you don´t mind that i borrow the pic wrong shaped case which is too thick and with bulpy lugs (IMHO a modern DJ case or something like that), no lugholes, wrong bezel etc. now it looks like that. not finished yet and it has not the demand to be accurate, still wrong crystal, wrong fat hand, insert and some other things i have to do, but i like it better than before. and it has a thin case, i tried to model it after the case of my 1675: reshaping the case (that was intense work and took around 10-12 hours incl. sanding back to shine), drilled lugholes: slowly sanding progresses (that took the longest time, my fingers still hurt): then springbars, dial and hands aging. i like it looking old (where is nanuq? )... *EDIT*: new pics or with aged insert:
  18. UPDATE: the crowns will be ready to ship out beginning end of this week. i will contact the buyers within the next day with the payment details (we figure them out at the moment)
  19. joe, of course i will pay what i owe you. and i did not say a single word about that in my post nor am i complaining about that in my post. if you think so please read again. the only reason why i did not already pay you is and that i have told you that i have some seriously money shortage at the moment because i did not get any salary for 3 months. but this should get better in the next days and the first i will do, is pay you (never was doubted). always did, i never had unpaid bills in my life. question of honour. but that was not the subject of my post so therefore i do not understand about what you are writing in your posting... i am not bad mouthing or whatever, i was just reacting to these emails that you wrote to members that now surface...disappointing, nothing more.
  20. i wanted to keep out of that although it seems i am on the [censored] list of joe (and i really do not care). i can say 2 things: the PM that was mentioned where The Zigmeister (and me) were bashed was not a one time thing. for some time now, here and there, some members told me that and forwarded me mails and PMs from him that have exactly the same bashing phrases in it. "i am the best, i invented all mods, i am the only one who can make the cgs, The Zigmeister and/or palp and/or whoever copied my work etc etc". but i thought, wth, as long as he believes it and he is happy, i do not care. That all indicates that the mod business and the incomes from it is that important to joe that he makes these things and efforts. in contrary to me, its only a hobby for me. i do not make it for the money in the first instance (and many who had business with me can confirm that). i am not angry at him but i am disappointed because i thought we come along quite well, i helped him with a watch , he helped me etc. but according to these mails, it seems i was wrong i was further more disappointed when i logged back into RWG after my time out because of my mothers death and i received so many nice PMs with support etc, except joe who wrote me "please send me the money that is owed" hmm... but thats another story. why in the hell? its reps, its fun, hobby, nothing more...
  21. it looks like that when a wtch was polished several times during the years. every polsihing takes off some of the metal and the lugs get thinner and the bevel gets smaller
  22. i installed the crowns on a GMT, no problem! its still enough space to teh cg when the crown is pulled out fully in time setting position....
