  1. It's been really lacking some Tudor action here for the last few weeks so I thought I'd share mine if you share yours too Currently in the box Sub to start Heritage Black Flake Blue Flake (snow for Nanuq) Now it's your turn
  2. Hi, as usual I need your advice.... I´m looking to build a sterile sub with a personalized dial to give as a gift to the winner of a golf tournamente y play once a month during the whole year. 1 - Where can I source a sub case to hold an eta 2824-2? This case needs to be waterproof, at least for recreational swiming. 2- I want a green bezel and as I mentioned before, sterile back and crown. 3 - Wich will be the best sterile rivetted bracelet I can get? I´ve already found someone who can build the dial for me and I will also buy mercedes hands at the bay. I am missing something else? thanks Marcos
  3. Hey fellas, Can anyone possibly identify the maker and/or quality of this sub? Basically(as we OCD watch geeks luv to do) critic the heck out it! It does have a smooth sweeping hand that appears to be high beat Swiss movement. The case back hasn't been removed to verify it.This is the first LV release Pre-rehaut engraving. I know the crown and lume dot are not up to specs. The DWO looks like TC's and appears to be very good quality. Any other observations would be appreciated. Now have at it boys!

    Gold!

I've been wearing this golden beast daily for a few weeks. Great watch, very comfortable and practical. I have yet to see any pics or comments regarding this watch, so I thought I'd post a pic.
  5. I've seen pictures of this ProHunter GMT on both here and RepGeek (posted by projectologist). The AR just seems to be incredible. Not only does the crystal vanish but the cyclops seems to retain the "black hole" effect. I have a ProHunter sub that I don't wear purely because the crystal is terrible. The glare off the cyclops is so bad I can't even read the date unless I turn it to just the right angle. I'd love to somehow get a crystal similar to the one on Projectologists ProHunter GMT on my ProHunter Sub. Does anyone have any idea how to get this done? In his post, Projectologists lists that the crystal was double AR coated on both sides. While I believe it was my gut tells me that the crystal must have also been additionally AR coated under the cyclops to add the blackhole effect. I was thinnking that ideally I would take a crystal that already has an AR'd cyclops, like the ones from BigCrown (I actually have one already) and have the whole thing additional double AR coated. The problem is that it's a gen spec crystal and I'm not sure if that will fit in the noob sub, which the ProHunters are based on. Anyone know whether a gen spec crystal can be stuffed into a noob sub? I thought I saw a tutorial on here where someone shows how to take apart a noob sub and replace the crystal with a Clarks (gen spec) crystal by remvoing it through the case back. Anyone run across this thread? Assuming it fits do you think that double AR coating a BigCrown "black hole" crystal would give me a similar result? My other option would be to take out the crystal that came with my ProHunter sub and have it double AR coated but my gut tells me that's not going to give me the "black hole" effect. Can someone who's knows more about AR than me help guide me in the right direction or just chime in with your thoughts?

    5513

I have a 5513 Sub that, for some reason, stops and starts rather erratically. I know this question probably would have been better in a different section, but I figured I'd ask it here because this seems to be the section with the most "franken" builders. This 5513 seems to be fully wound, and will run for like 5 seconds and then stop. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong with it, or who could fix it for me? Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi All, I wanted to send out a quick thank you to Fidhle007. I think the pictures speak for themselves but I wanted to publically say thanks and give a huge endorsing recommendation. He was accommodating, extremely fast, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with. Anyone out there who knows enough to be dangerous but is a bit nervous about jumping head first into a watch build I highly recommend you get in touch with Brendan (Fidhle007). Stats TC V4 Sub w/o rehaut engraving: TC V3 Bracelet: V2 DWO: Gen crown: Gen Crystal (BNIB, with LEC): Gen Insert: Gen Retaining Ring Gen Bezel Ring: *Assembled, timed and sealed Thanks for looking!
  8. I want to buy Rolex Rolex Sub 16610LN with Gen (or looks like gen) blue lume markers & Watch Case Engravings ??? I want to have the best rolex replica (under 1000$), who can help me? Sub=(Dial & Hands, Bracelet, Black Ceramic Bezel, Watch Case Engravings, Gen Spec Crystal, Best Movement & other)
  9. I took inventory today of my watch collection. During the process, I shot quite a few pics. Here are a couple of my dear sweet darlings (old veteran members will recall these two I am sure). Some details... Circa '65-'66 1675 with original small GMT hand (from the factory). Yes, it came this way from the factory. This prompted an interesting debate 15 or so years ago when folks started coming out of the woodwork with stories of Rolex finding caches of old parts in the mid-60s (and subsequently using them up despite being slightly outdated. Very 1960s Breitling-esque, I might add). Still have the original folded Jubilee bracelet as well. Mov't has been keeping chronometer time specs since it was born. Crazy accurate. Circa '67-'68 5513 with original Twinlock crown system intact and original T-19 Superdome. I have a NOS Twinlock tube, gasket & crown waiting around for servicing in a few years. I also have a Triplock system for it. I might just install the Triplock to avoid humidity issues in the future. 1520 mov't is also superbly accurate. I've got the original faded bezel insert stashed away that I, from time to time, slap on the watch. I also wear it on its original Oyster bracelet, too. I almost sold this watch a few months ago. Somehow I managed to regain my senses right before closing the deal. What the heck was I thinking!! What is fascinating about these movements is that they autowind to max. capacity extremely rapidly--more than any other auto-mech watch I've owned to date. I know that there are some vintage lovers around these parts!
  10. First off I'm not a big Rolex fan. The only exception for me is the No date sub. I personally find the understated face and overall size and build charming and have been waiting a long time for a descent rep. I came across this Trever's no date sub: http://v.yupoo.com/photos/trevorwatch/albums/4137407/ I'd love to draw on your experience and knowledge as to the following aspects: 1. are the dimensions close? will it feel right on the wrist? 2. should the Swiss eta 2836-2 give the same seconds swiping movement? any further input is welcome, though I am less interested in the minute details as I am in the overall feel and theme. Thanks
  11. Hi, Does anybody here have any experience with the Midsize Submariner from Timesshop? http://www.timesshop...id_product=6614 My son (8yo) is absolutely crazy about my sub reps, so I thought I might get him one of his own. I know there's no gen version of it, but I think it would look really cool on his wrist, even though he's a small kid for his age. Anyone? Edit: Here's a ladies version, that might fit him even better. http://www.timesshop.net/product.php?id_product=2045
  12. So I was given this Deep Sea as a gift by a friends who travels a lot over seas. I've had this for about a year and would like your opinion on this guy because I have been debating with my friend on whether bringing it back himself was worth the risk. I thought it looked good, but then again I am no expert. It does have good a rep helium valve, but I did not take a pic. Any help on the quality would be great. Thanks in advance!!
  13. Here is a pic that I thought some of you good people might be interested in seeing; my gen Red Submariner. It’s the 1680 model and dates from 1972. It used to be my Grandfathers and it’s true to say it doesn’t come out to play very often, but it’s very special to me (both as a rare watch and as a sentimental heirloom). It was last serviced in 2003 at the Rolex service centre in Bexleyheath, Kent (UK) and it’s been keeping good time ever since. A couple of years ago I treated her to an aftermarket Sub box (pictured) and I’ve recently invested in a Modalo watchwinder to keep everything moving / lubed. Look forward to hearing your comments, and, if anyone anyone can recommend a UK watchmaker (to service my recently acquired Milgauss rep), I’d be very grateful.
