  1. Hey guys, I bought a gen Rolex 1501 case with hands and dial. I was wondering if I could run into any problems, if I put my 1501 dial on a cal. 1570 which came from a 1601? My only concern is with the date wheel, since the 1501 is 34mm and the 1601 is 36mm in diameter. Thank you!
  2. What if I buy a gen Rolex case and dial of an old Datejust or Perpetual Date? (Rewind) Few months ago I nearly bought case/glass/dial/hands/bezel/crown/bracelet of a gen Rolex 1501... eveything was there except the movement.... Nearly, but I didn't. (Everything was in very poor condition and the dial was an awful brownish/reddish...) Back to present... What if I get an old Date/Datejust WITHOUT the movement? What movement may fit in that case? (Talking about size and stem height...) In those years (70's) many Oyster Rolex had the self winding 1570 caliber... May I mount the Yuki 3135 or a 2836/46? (I know... there is not reply if I don't mention the case...) @Legend Al, I need your help here... Please... Thank you all!
  3. I need service of my MBW 1665, it has a 1570 inside and the date will not change. who does service in the USA. Thanks
  4. Does anyone have a 1570 flat top 3's datewheel I could purchase/borrow? I just purchased a 1570 movement, but am a bit discouraged due to the lack of decent aftermarket options at the moment. WSO aka Mr. Slimeball is the only person I see selling them... If I could borrow someone's datewheel (or maybe someone could send me a scanned file of theirs) I would throw it into illustrator, create a vector file, and get some manufactured in silver
  5. Hi. I'm planning to build a vintage sub and I just have a few questions that some of you may know: 1. I know that a gen 1570 movement runs counter clockwise in winding the hands. How about the date: does it turn clockwise or counter clockwise? 2. Would a 1570 fit an MBW case? If not, what would I need in order to use both? 3. Does the serial numbering on an mbw case run in sequence like the TC or is it a fixed (same) serial numbering all through out production? 4. Has anyone successfully changed the 'Polex' engraving into 'Rolex'? Thanks for your help as these are seldom discussed recently for one to search.
  6. Having never attempted this on my own... Is there any micro adjustment when positioning a date wheel on a 1570 movement? My date numerals seem to sit closer to the bottom of the date window than the top. Just has some movement work done and I' m not sure that I noticed this before. Or, is there a fixed position as it sets on the movement and my slight OCD is kicking in? Thank you for looking and for your responses.
  7. So, I have this dial on the bench, and a GEN case (converted 1601 to 1016) to go with it... My conundrum.... Should I seek out a non-date movement (1520, 1560, 1570), or is it possible to convert a DATE movement (1575) most likely to a non-date. 1575's are plentiful. I have to wonder about canon size and seconds hand though... Thoughts? Suggestions? Also, I NEED HANDS to match. If anyone can assist me in a set of Mercedes hands for this project please PM me.
