I have the above problem with my 1963. The effect is the chronograph resets itself when I press stop. I think the actual problem may be the button itself is a bit stiff and putting up too much resistance for the puny spring which pushes back on the reset lever - the button needs a firm press to engage then returns slowly after pressing). I can manually engage the lever directly on the movement, making the chronograph reliable. But when I reset, the lever just returns maybe half the distance it should. Does anyone know how I can loosen or grease the reset button before I start looking at the spring? Thanks! -
Hi everybody, first off Happy New years! My question about the availability of Carrera Calibre 16s with a Copy Venus (or Lemania) or Sea Gull ST19, whichever it is being called these days. I have been doing a lot of looking through all of the trusted dealer sites and through the forms and have found many asian 7750 and Japanese quartz chronos, as well as a few Swiss 7750. I am quite convinced I will go for an asian 7750 model, but have been reading a lot about the fickleness of this movement, while hearing some great things about the Sea Gull ST19, especially it's durability. Has anyone seen this model, WITH the ST19 movement? If so, any dealers that you can suggest? I will start sending out emails after the New Years to different dealers to get their opinions. Howto Install Stem For Sea Gull / St19 Movement

Hi, I recently bought a nice speedmaster rep. with a ST19 movement from a fellow member here. Problem was that the stem was missing, but finally I could source a new one. Now I am wondering if I should install it on my own or get it done somewhere.... I only found how-to's on removing the stem, so my guess would be that installing is just the opposite? - opening case - pushing the "stem-release" button and insert stem Can it be that easy? ;-) I have never worked on a movement before and would rate my overall technical skills at about 7,5 out of 10. Thanks for your suggestions & thoughts!
